Beautiful setting, delicious food, and such a great team. We enjoyed Voyagers so much that we came back twice during our trip! On our first visit, I had the fish & chips, which were excellent. The fish was breaded with panko, giving it a perfect, light crunch. I'm now convinced all fish & chips should be prepared this way! I also loved the local influence of using opakapaka rather than the more traditional mahi-mahi. The fish had fantastic flavor and was cooked beautifully. On our second visit, I went for the Cubano made with kalua pork, and everything about it worked. Great bread, tons of flavor, tender pork, and perfectly cooked fries. Everyone in our group was happy with their food both times. The setting is another reason to come. Voyagers sits right at the edge of the bay, making it perfect for a daytime lunch or happy hour. In the evening, the torches are lit, and when we visited, there was wonderful live music that completely changed the atmosphere. It's mostly outdoors with plenty of room to spread out, so you really get to enjoy being in Kona. A special shoutout to Eric, who took such great care of us. He was incredibly accommodating, had a great attitude, and was genuinely fun to be around. We even ran into him again around town, which was a nice surprise! Our server a few nights later was equally awesome, although unfortunately I didn't catch his name. We were a huge party there on Saturday night until close, and he did a terrific job patiently handling the group. Great food, a beautiful waterfront atmosphere, and genuinely warm service. Just had breakfast here and this time was very disappointing. I ordered the fried rice with scrambled eggs and bacon . Seriously a scoop of old rice with peas is not fried rice. The bacon was tiny broken end pieces that looked like pieces people didn't finish and went back to the kitchen and reserved. Only thing edible was the eggs. We have really enjoyed them serving breakfast on game days . This however was not a good experience. Had to get up to flag waiter down to get a drink. The menu online is not up to date. We picked this restaurant based on what we thought our group could order. They do not have French dip, johnny walker nachos, quasadillas and several other items. Calamari was so over salted it was like drinking from the sea. Why I appreciated they offered a replacement, I didn't want anything from the kitchen after that. They were also out of two menu items making the already shrunken menu smaller. So many empty tables, seems like everyone knew to skip this place but us. read more

Only 2 people working on a Friday. Took over 20 minutes to get drinks and then another hour to get food. I understand it was going to be a little slow with a couple people working but really 2?! The food came out and was missing 2 sides to our group, 1 person didn't even get their meal. I had the paddler sandwich (mahi) and it was very overcooked and super dry, didn't even come with anything but the piece of fish and a bun. Grilled chicken sandwich was literally black it was so overcooked. Everyone's fries were cold to the touch. If you don't have enough help, probably should just close for the night. It was extremely underwhelming for paying $20+ a plate. Would not recommend, way better places to choose from. read more

Well, let's see the server had 2 tables including us and she could not tell that the order what incorrect, even though I was clearly removing my green chilies from my French Dip. Let's start with the ambiance, looking out over the water not bad. The food is way overpriced for what you get and really not that good. The bus boy was working hard and so was the one waitress with the black hair. Another "server" was barely a server. Although friendly, she seemed highly distracted and lacked efficiency. My son and I were exploring the shops when we came across the Kona Canoe Club. I believe it was just opening for the day and we were able to be seated immediately. We sat on the deck right along the railing with a superb view of the ocean. We were close to it. It could literally hear the waves lapping up on the lava rocks. It was a great view and a nice place to enjoy lunch. My teriyaki chicken sandwich was very good. I recommend it. The french fries were a little bit underwhelming and for the price the quantity was disappointing. My son had the hamburger and said it was tasty. It did come with plenty of tomatoes, onions and lettuce. He enjoyed it. Again, the potato salad was a bit disappointing. Not bad... Just not good. Overall, the service was pretty good. However, the reason for four stars versus five is after our server dropped off the check we never seen her again. I sat patiently for about 10 minutes trying to remind myself that we were in Hawaii and that I should be on the island time. However, finally, I had to flag someone down to take my money. Trying to pay the bill literally added an extra 20 minutes to our dining experience. Weird! Overall, the view was great and the food is pretty good. I'm not sure why they don't have higher ratings. I just had the slider combo and it was perfect. It's on a Hawaiian roll. There's a cheese burger, pork, and a chicken slider. Says seat yourself but waitress came over like we were unwelcome as we sat and questioned use as if prepared to say you must order something. I pre-emptively said yes, we are ordering. Once we were served, we were asked if we were just ordering drinks. Moments later, a strange person coming back to work, I assume, started questioning use about a sparkling water I forgot I brought in. Very unwelcoming for a person of color. This place was not very good other than the view and the onion rings. Otherwise it didn't have good food. The hamburger was decent. The nachos was horrible they put them in the oven or burner and the chips and cheese were well done like burnt and it didn't taste that yummy. It was not worth getting. The waitress was actually really kind, and I honestly felt bad for her because it seemed like she deals with a lot from the owner. She was trying, but you could tell she wasn't getting any support. The owner, on the other hand, was incredibly rude. When our order got messed up, she said, "You ordered it, you should know. Not me." That alone pretty much set the tone. What a view !! The Kona Canoe Club sits right on the water. This is a really good restaurant. The service is over the top efficient & friendly. The ambiance is obvious (see photos) .. the mahi-mahi fish & chips along with the Hawaiian quesadilla was excellent. They have a resident cat named Gary (pic attached).. he greets customers as they approach the entrance. He is VERY affectionate & according to Gary the cat, petting is required before being seated .. Family decided to stop here for lunch after shopping at the Wednesday farmers market and doing a little shopping in the area. The view is amazing and a great place to enjoy lunch. I had the Creamsicle martini and calamari sandwich. I love getting calamari sandwiches because it reminds me of fried abalone. Calamari sandwich was good, could have used a little more seasoning. This sandwich and salad place fit the bill since their limited menu featured a "Traditional Tossed Caesar Salad". I sat myself down on the patio which has a nice view of the pier. I ordered the chicken version and the waitress said it would "be a minute" due to staffing issues. That was a euphemism for a half hour, but I was on vacation so I just enjoyed the cool breeze and view. The salad was plated well but I could immediately tell the Romaine was not fresh by the browning of the cuts. But thanks to refrigeration technology, the lettuce was still crispy. The chicken was a little dry, not very well seasoned but edible. The croutons came out of a bag, the Parmesan was skimpy and the dressing was equally applied; when I was done the plate was very clean. There is much room for improvement for this salad and I should have started by asking for more dressing on the side. It also seemed like my waitress was going through the motions and not really engaged. I cannot recommend and will not repeat. read more

Waited for a bit before a waitress came and took our drink order, when I asked for a sprite she was visibly annoyed probably that I wasnt ordering alcohol. Visited here everyday during my visit for breakfast. I recommend this spot for a good breakfast. I'm not sure about lunch or dinner but if is anything like the breakfast it is a good spot. We never had rsvp but they were always able to seat us with no problem. I recommend and will visit again when I return. read more

Food: So... the food was decent. Calamari was different but good, onion rings were good (but hard to mess those up...) chicken sandwich and sliders were good. Pork sandwich was okay and my wife's fish tacos were good but small. Overall the food was good but not amazing. I hope the tartar sauce and cocktail sauce really are made in-house... Service: Our waitress was so sweet, probably 1/2 the reason we decided to eat here! Read a few other reviews of some psycho servers from this place, glad we didn't get them! Very much enjoyed that one. The clam chowder was a little thick for our liking and not a traditional chowder but good. The waitresses were attentive and pleasant although it took an unusually long time to seat our party of 6. The restaurant was relatively empty but they seemed to be flustered initially and looking for someone to ask permission. I would recommend the restaurant for a quick bite. We could not pass up the opportunity to dine here with it being a sister restaurant of our local haunt - Wind & Sea! We visited on Father's Day with my Dad and husband. We were sat right away with a table for 7 by the water. Our waitress was patient but attentive as we took our time deciding what to order.
