A great bar and grill by one of the more popular beaches in the Kona area. They have a killer patio overlooking the beach and the ocean, so rightfully most tables are outside. Tons of seating, they could serve hundreds at a time with all those tables. Servers and bartenders were awesome! Expect a short wait at peak lunch and dinner time slots. The bar is great, with island spirited cocktails and some local brews on tap! Snacked on plenty of appetizers, they were tasty!

A first night of vacation dinner when we wanted a simple meal for 6 adults. the menu looked good so we headed over about 7:00 pm on a Tuesday night. we got a table outside with a beautiful background sound of crashing waves. our server Victoriah was knowledgeable and very friendly. Two margaritas came out and sadly had a very bland taste, almost watered down. Not our favorite. Two kombuchas were good, and a Keiki Tai was also. The Pineapple Fried rice was very salty and disappointing, but the Firecracker Fish Tacos tasty good. The Bulgogi Beef Cups and Lemon Risotto marched perfectly. All for $300+ was not a good value for the evening Overall. We understand that everything is very expensive right now but I wish more items were tasty to warrant the cost. The atmosphere was nice but we're going to find another spot to try.

Magics was recommended to us, and we stopped by for happy hour and a light dinner. We did not have a reservation, but were able to be seated immediately. Their happy hour is not much, and I wouldn't recommend going for just that. What I would go for is the amazing view, the live music, and the sunset. The restaurant is on the ocean, and has a fair sized patio. Also outstanding, randomly, is their Caesar salad. We got it on a whim, as a side, and it was really good. Instead of croutons, it had fried cheese. It was also really fresh, the right amount of dressing and great flavor. We also had the seafood chowder, which was fine. Neither of us liked the lobster pasta. The food in my experience is hit or miss.

Went to the magics beach shack for breakfast. There was no acai, and we wanted acai bowls. Our orders took forever, and it was general chaos. We were not informed there was no acai until after the order was placed. Very confused how you run out of acai in Hawaii and you're a smoothie shop. And this was first thing in the morning not even later in the day. Maybe go out and buy some acai so customers can choose from the menu accurately? Or tell them before you order? Malasadas were tasty, I really liked the deep purple look of the ube! Love the location right by magic sands beach super convenient.

Firecracker grilled fish tacos, spinach salad and pan-roasted Brussel sprouts.

Nice Oceanside tables with good view (watch out for a little refreshing spritz when tide and wave action are high). Food was very good and service fine. Brussel Sprouts were deli with lots of bacon! A little pricey but enjoyed the food and location!

Magic's Beach Grill gave us a great start right from the door. Our hostess was hilarious and took it all in stride when my friend's husband wandered off through the restaurant hunting for his preferred table instead of the one we were assigned. The host handled it with good humor and set us up with an amazing table overlooking both the beach and the water, complete with a bird's-eye view of the sunset. Our waiter, Jay, not Jake from State Farm, but Jay without the K, started off fantastic. He was funny, quick, efficient and very professional. As the evening went on, though, service slowed down quite a bit. We heard he picked up a large table and there were long stretches where we didn't see him at all. Drink-wise, I had a mango tea and loved it. My daughter enjoyed a couple of alcoholic beverages. My friend's husband had a beer and she didn't drink. Food was a mixed bag. My daughter ordered the grilled chicken with smashed potatoes. The chicken was unfortunately very dry and felt overpriced for the quality, though the smashed potatoes were absolutely delicious and came with what tasted like a chimichurri-style sauce. No one could quite confirm what it was but whatever it was, it was excellent. She also loved the French fries that came with my meal. I ended up ordering several sides, including French fries and lemon Parmesan risotto. The risotto was slightly underdone for my taste but still good. The clear standout of the night was the bacon gorgonzola gnocchi. That dish was phenomenal and easily could have been my entire meal. And of course, the real finale was the sunset. We got the perfect picture and the perfect view. Overall, it's a bit overpriced for the consistency of the food but the atmosphere, the setting and some standout dishes made it an enjoyable evening.

We stopped here after a visit to the Magic Beach. It's a great location right next to the beach. I got 3 tacos; shrimp, steak and pork. I highly recommend the shrimp taco. The service is ok. I had to ask a couple times for my daughter's ice cream and my mom's frappe. I would eat here again if I come back to Magic Sand Beach.

Beautiful views! Lunch yesterday was great and we loved the lavender lemonade drink, as well as the smash burger and salad. Tonight's happy hour was enjoyable and the Caesar salad and kalua pork nachos were delicious. But I was overcharged and when my tab was redone, I did not receive the 10% discount I originally received (resort perk) and the waiter ended up with a 35% tip!

Ono Grindz! If you are cruisin' Ali'i Drive definitely swing in for a drink and a bite. Reece took great care of us. Service and Kitchen speed were quick. We really didn't have to wait long for our lunch. I think we were in and out in less than an hour.

Magics has some of THE best views & live music from time to time! It's also located right next to magic sands beach so plenty to do! Parking can be a bit tight so prepare for that or walking from nearby parking lots. From my experience I'd go to magics for the view and appetizers. Some of the cocktails are okay, most of the full lunch/dinner meals I've had are mediocre. The gnocchi was lacking a bit of mmph and the fish was just okay and very dry We tried their fried truffle ulu fries the other night and they were very good! The burrata salad is also my personal favorite!

It was a Monday night, our appt went longer than expected, and it was my son's birthday. Not sure what was still open at 8:30, we stopped at Magic's to check out the menu and decided to stay and dine. So glad we did. The food, service, and atmosphere was an amazing way to celebrate the day. My son enjoyed his seafood spread. The server was so kind and even covered his lava cake and crème brûlée which came with candles. Did not expect such great service for walking in 20 minutes before closing and on a Monday night.

    Amazing brussel sprouts.

Driving back to the airport and needed some food. As always, I took to Yelp. It never disappoints. Made a quick reservation for magics beach grill and headed that way. We pulled up and it was ON the beach. Parked in a parking lot across the street. It's populated, but not well seen or monitored, so don't leave anything out in your car for people to want to snatch. Walked across the street and were happily greeted at the front desk. Was shown right to our table outside on the patio. It rained off and on, but the canopy kept us dry. Sitting and listening to the waves crash against the wall right next to us was amazing. The menu was great. I came in for fish and chips but quickly changed to the pesto gnocchi with chicken, and I'm so glad I did. It was perfect. Chicken was cooked well and was tender, not dry. The pesto cream sauce was delicious. We got the brussel sprouts as a starter and they were some of the best I've ever had. My husband and got the fish tacos and loved them. Our server was kind and so helpful telling us things about the area and the restaurant/menu. Our waters never sat empty and he checked on us a few times. A wonderful spot right on the beach. We will absolutely be back if we find ourselves in the area again.

Fun family friendly spot on the water for supper or drinks. We were impressed with the quality of food we received and the presentation. There is a smaller menu so check prior if you have food restrictions or picky eaters in the group! Staff was kind, area was clean, a little pricey for the sizes but the view on the water made it all worth it!

How's the parking coming over from Hilo in a couple weeks to celebrate my wife's birthday, the 23rd?

I'm sure she was the only one for the entire place, basically 8 tables, so it took her longer than normal to take our order and to bring us the tab. As she was the only server, it was understandable. My husband ordered a veggie burger; I ordered coconut shrimp. My husband thought the burger was decent, not overly wow, but he enjoyed it. The fries were delicious! My coconut shrimp was tasty and nice and hot. I could've had maybe 2 more, then I would've been super happy! A bit pricey for the portion sizes, but you definitely pay for convenience. With it being at the resort, it beats going anywhere. One thing to keep in mind: it's outside and by the pool. There were kids yelling and playing the entire time we were there, so conversation was out between that and the live music. However, if you have kids, you could always send them to the pool and still maintain proper supervision whilst eating a snack!
