Office and Dentist are Great!! Patient with your individual needs! I had an emergency dental situation and they were helpful beyond!

I went into this Denist office same day I should of known when I called for an appointment and they could see me that day he wasn't busy at all that's a sign . I had x-rays and examine by this Denist he told me I needed 3 crowns at $1000 each plus some more stuff giving me a quote of over $10,000 for dental treatment . I didn't believe him he didn't speak much at all , wasn't very personal or caring if you ask me . So I went to another Denist and I was told I need a fill on teeth and only 1 crown . So I don't like to say it so I will let you decide . Was this Denist dishonest with his examination and charges for dental service ? Or was he not through with his examine, and didn't really care to be precise and accurate with his findings for examine? INSURANCE COMPANIES- is this who you want billing you for your members dental work needed or done??? This Denist really should rethink his decision on what a patient needs or go back to school he was wrong calling out what I need anyway . Maybe he likes cash patients vs. Insurance billing either way it was going to cost someone a lot more money than it was truly worth. I only give this dentist office a 2 star because I liked the front desk gal who was very friendly and seemed honest. But she did what the Denist told her and that was to charge me for crowns instead of fills. Bad Business read more

The office manager misstated the copays on the first visit and after that in texts. I corrected her both times and then at the time of my cleaning, Dr. Vu said "I remember you" in a condescending way and said "I'll give you a quick cleaning" which he did. The office didn't seem to understand how insurance worked and tried to charge me in excess of the contractually agreed upon rate indicated in the evidence of coverage. I was so regretful that I didn't check the negative feedbacks of this dental office before signing up for service. I and my wife came in this place for tooth implants but the dentist wanted to do the tooth cleaning first, I thought that was their procedure. So next week we came back for tooth implants but he had us in for a consultation for less than 5 minutes but did not mention about the charges and a few days later I received the statement from my insurance showing that he charged $160.00 for consultation against my insurance, and of course he also charged for the tooth cleaning as well for me and my wife. Seeing he was charging too much money and did not even get into the point of service for our needs. So I called to cancel the appointment for the tooth implants and asked for a copy of the x-ray, his receptionist charged me for $10.00 for a piece of paper which costs less than 5 cents. I am not sure that this dentist has the license for tooth implant or not as he advertised on the window to trap some victims like me and my wife. So I must write this true story regarding my situation to give a warning to everyone to take a cautious consideration before entering in this office which I don't recommend. I had my braces removed accordingly to Dr. Vu Mai, but one of my teeth still feels crooked. Not only that, but the deep cleaning was done poorly. Some of the resin from the braces remained. I got my retainers today yet I didn't specify to them which type of retainer I wanted. They promised to let me see which retainer I could have, but I was not given that chance. Dr Vu Mai is amazing. He did the orthodontics for both of my daughters. Very pleasant staff, very friendly office. Dr. Mai is a pleasure to work with and he communicates well with both myself, my husband and my daughters. My teeth had been an ongoing issue for me, part genetic, part neglect (i was terrified of the dentist and avoided going) but a year ago I decided to do something about the pain and discomfort. A friend of mine recommend Doctor Vu Mai so I contacted his office for a consultation. The appointment was one of the best decisions I have ever made. At the consultation, he was able to clearly show me what was going on with my teeth and what could be done about it. I felt the information Dr. Vu Mai gave about my dental health was enough for me to make the decision to move ahead with my treatment . It has been over a year after my treatment and I feel truly truly "blessed" to not feel pain and suffering. My treatment required 4 visits. First root canal, second tooth extraction, third post root canal treatment and last crown. Everyone at his dental office was professional, respectful, kind and caring. The customer service is A+. There was very little pain during my treatment. My wife went in for a quick implant tighten since it get loose after 2 years, he told her she also need an extraction, we agreed on the price, he agreed to bill insurance (we have two insurances). After billed and get money from both insurances (enough to cover the agreed amount), they turn around and ask for $250 more out of our pocket (it is not the amount but it is the principal). The work is OK but the billing is suck (especially the lady in the reception). Be very careful when you talk with them on the price, they will try to bill the maximum amount with insurance and still extract some more from your pocket, extremely sharp knife. WE WILL NEVER GO BACK AGAIN!!!! read more

First of all, thank you Dr. Vu Mai. I truly thank you for spending so much time on the 2nd consultation visit (almost an hour) for the same issue with me and my senior fellow brother (SFB). I have not heard of you Sir until yesterday. My SFB has been seeking for a good, trustworthy, reliable, and responsible dentist for major work b/c he had major work done before by a dentist friend and was very unhappy and utmostly traumatized. Eventhough he was explained by Dr Mai how the procedures work in details with proposed treatment plan and pricing, my SFB had very little ideas basically he was lost may be due to techincal terms or procedures that he is not familiar with. Last week I was still skeptical when SFB could not retell me what the dentist's plan was. And that's why I was in the office yesterday. I did not expect this consultation will last more than 15 minutes because: #1- no dentists will spend more than 15 mins for a free consultation unless you pay bc their time is valuable. #2- 2nd visit for the same issue (normally, dentists out there will show unhappy faces and will let the front desk staff help), plus they took pano xray without charges already. #3- I did not come with the whole page of questions... I just needed to clarify a few things. Anyhow... I was impressed with Dr. Mai's knowledge, patience, details, ethical practice, and caring for patients. To be honest, I knew what I was there for so I came prepare with all researches in my head and some ready knowledge for dental field. He still blew me away and funny that I thought I could get a certificate after so much educational info from him for the past hour. He explained in both English and Vietnamese so well... He is not an old fashioned type dentist, so young and not-so-old generations will feel comfortable with him. He is approachable and he does most (I dare not use "all" bc I have not asked him what other procedures he performs) major works such as complicated implants, complicated bone grafts, and oral surgeries just like the Specialists do eventhough he is not specialized. He is just a general dentist. Just like my family dentist, he does everything but not on medium-to-highly complicated cases, he will refer you out for less headache. But this dentist DOES all complicated cases I suppose bc evidently in my eyes my SFB is one of the toughest cases! Well in summary, I am happy to know there is a dentist out there among dentists that would rather do things correctly in the beginning than having patients coming back complain then fix them. He is willing to spend time to make sure his patient understands what he/she will be going thru. Lastly is pricing. My SFB went to a few places before and they quoted him over 10K. For his case, over 10K is easy bc it has to be done at specialist but Dr Mai saved him a few grands. Last note: I did learn a very good application in life from you: "if you do not take time to show and explain to people your work, they won't see to appreciate it.
