We went here for Bingo Loco. Th Vulcan Gas company is where it was held. It was pretty spacious. Staff for the most part was a good time. One of the guys that waited our table was hitting on my drunk friend and was very handsy. The event itself was fun. I'd probably go again but maybe if it was somewhere else. I liked that this place had two floors. It was big enough to hold the crowd that came for the event. The DJ and Host were funny and kept the conversation flowing well! Good music. It was hard to see in a dark room so much so some of my friends gave up on trying to keep track of their bingos and just danced to enjoy the music. The drinks that we were served were made well. My only complaint about the event was that we got two different emails about the start times and my friends and I worried about showing up late or potentially too early. When you try to contact the event itself in the emails where it says contact us it tells you there's no phone number and that you have to contact them by email and when you email them you get an automated response that says sorry we don't check our emails. Ask us on Facebook. I got a response via Facebook messenger about 24 hours later and confirmed the start time from one of the original emails, but all in all it was a fun time. This is a fantastic venue in downtown Austin. The seating is cabaret style, with chairs around small tables and table service. Depending on the size of your group, you may be seated at a table with other people. Seating near the stage is regular chair height. Seating on the main floor, further away from the stage, is barstool height. There is a standing room only balcony with a great view of the stage. The stage is at a good height, so the performers can be seen from anywhere in the venue. This was a fantastic venue for the 2026 Moontower Comedy Fest and will be at the top of our list when coming back to town. read more

Paid $100 for a comedy show to get sat in an upstairs area where the tables were set up to watch the show on a TV. Couldn't even see the stage. Don't go here for big shows, and if you do, go early so they don't stick you upstairs on the back wall. They really shouldn't even sit people up there unless they are in the front where they can see the stage or it's a total waste of money. Vulcan is located on 6th St in Austin right in the middle of where all the actions at. Depending on the show, you may need to secure your phone & smart watches in a bag they have you hold onto until after the show is over with, at which time they unlock it. They do shared waiting here, I'd guess maybe 6 or so people on staff to help you out with getting drink orders to you. We were checked on often, so you have no lack of needing stuff, staff is always around. They have an upper level here, and lower level with low tops, & high tops. I went to a comedy review there last night but there wasn't much to laugh about. Where we were sitting the acoustics were awful. It was to the right of the stage and the speakers were pointed away from us. You could hear hear about a third of what was said. And the sad fact was the comics they presented just weren't very funny. And the metal seats were quite uncomfortable. Towards the end I was praying that the next comic was the last one and was grateful when it was finally over! read more

Vulcan Gas Company seems to be extremely disorganized and poorly run. Our tickets said doors at 6:30, but when we got there at 6:35, doors didn't open for another 30 minutes, so we stood in the sun and summer heat that whole time. Checking our tickets and receiving wristbands was disorganized as well, with staff commenting that other staff didn't know what they were doing. We put our phones with the tickets on them in the sealed bags and then were asked what seats we were at. Luckily they could look it up. It was confusing because when I bought the tickets online I chose individual seats at a table, but when we got there, we were GA. My tickets said GA-4-2, GA-4-3, GA-4-4 or something like that, so I thought despite it saying GA that we had seats 2-4 at table 4 or something. Very confusing. The space is TIGHT. We grabbed seats at the bar so we had some room but each tiny table sat four people and everyone was very cramped. You will not be comfortable here during a sold out show if you are bigger than a size 4. As someone else said in a review, none of the bathroom stalls securely lock in the ladies' room. I will say the bar staff seemed pretty organized and had a good system going. The sound was good and we had a nice view of our comedian. I was there with a group of six. Up to the point when we walked out they had seven different comedians and out of the first six one was mildly funny. The seventh one came out and started yelling at the audience telling them they were losers for not laughing. One patron said to tell a joke then and he flew off the handle. We got up to leave with about the half of the audience and an eight comedian came on stage and bear hugged him trying to get him off stage. I asked the bartender what was his deal and the bartender said he's from Philadelphia so that's the way he is. Funny thing was they locked up our cell phones so we couldn't record any of the acts and now I know why. read more

There's just no way you would ever think that you can laugh too loud at a comedy club. Isn't that the point? To enjoy the comedians' "art" that was curated with the purpose to make their audience laugh and cheer? It was baffling to me that my party was kicked out because my friend was "cheering" too loud. I also went on their google business page as well as scrolling through their Yelp page and it seems that this is a regularly reoccurring issue (attaching photos) Also, my gf and our friend were whispering to one another by the stairs on the 2nd level next to the bar away from the crowd and not making a sound and they were told that they were also being too loud. Ladies this is your warning....... The bathrooms are disgusting. I went to this establishment last night for Bingo Loco and arrived at 6:30 when the doors opened and the bathrooms were already gross. Worst I've experienced. The toilets have mold growing in them so that tells you how long it has been since they had been scrubbed. Toilets leaking and floors covered in standing water. 4 stalls... 1 unusable , 1 with no door and the other two the locks were missing. All 4 you will be standing in toilet water/ urine.... Only one soap dispenser had soap and no paper towels. I will never return to this establishment. This is all that was discussed in the bathroom by all the women. read more

This Venue is on the smaller side. I recommend when you buy tickets for a comedy show, like I did, that you book a table. The table and chair set up was very tight and the chairs were super uncomfortable. My sciatica was bad that day and ended up having to half stand up during the show, I was at a high top so that was helpful. My husband and I ordered a few drinks while here. We gave them the card to swipe to open the order and was returned. When we went to order a second round the server was like we don't have your tab. Umm you took our card the first time. I'm not sure if we had been charged over or under because the receipt was just a subtotal. Boo! read more

After we ordered our drinks, the waitress asked if we'd like a couple of waters for the table and I said sure but I thought she meant complementary cups of water, not pricey plastic bottles. Was so excited for Bingo Loco w group of 5 friends. Got there 20 min early but we were seated upstairs all squished around a 2 person round table. We were against the back railing so NONE of us could see the stage AT ALL. The sound system was crap so u could hear noise, but it was so echo-y that u couldn't hear the words of the songs or being spoken into the mic. I was ready to leave after 40 min. NOT DISABILITY FRIENDLY (seated show). I saw a seated comedy show. Reading the comments here, I had already seen other people comment on how closely they crowded in the tables, but I'm not exaggerating when I say that most airplanes have more elbow and leg room. If you have any kind of mobility aides, the room is totally untraversable (which would also make the bathrooms inaccessible). Even if you don't use mobility aides, moving from point A to point B is almost impossible and the place is a total death trap if there is any kind of emergency where everyone needs to exit at once. Bizarrely, they don't call it to your attention when you are buying tickets that the most expensive tickets on the ground level are the only chairs that have backs. The next tier up are raised tables with hard metal barstools without backs or cushions (which was impossible for my friend with back problems and for myself who has trouble sitting upright for more than brief periods without support). Ironically, the cheapest seats on the ground floor (the "general admission" barstools lining the back wall) were probably the best seats in the house as the room is so small the view is perfect, only those people have the ability to lean back against the wall. (The front row of tables had chairs with backs and a little more elbow room, but were at the foot of a very tall stage and had to crane their necks in a way that looked painful. I have no insights about what it was like in the balcony.) Also, as noted, none of the bathroom stalls in the first floor women's room had locks, one of them would swing open because of the lack of lock, and of the four stalls, one was also out of order. On the bright side, the staff was friendly and they did not make us put our cell phones in pouches as I had read about in other reviews here. It's also worth noting that if it was an event without tables and chairs, I could see it being a more accessible place. My overall take is that it was not great and I will probably pass on seeing at least seated shows there again. read more

The comedian my partner and I saw was amazing. The venue experience... not so much. We were crammed at a tiny table on high top bar stools, no backs. Half my ass was hanging off. It was incredibly uncomfortable. We were constantly brushing against people with how close we were all seated. It was four to a table. Personally, I was bumped into by staff walking by 10+ times throughout the show. The drinks were of course overpriced. I only tasted liquor in one of my drinks. They were pretty disappointing. Came here for a show on a Saturday night. The show was scheduled for 7:30pm, and they started letting us in at around 7pm. They'll check your ID and have you place your phone and smart watches into a YNDR bag. You keep the bag with you during the show, and they have a special key that will open the bag after. You can order drinks from the bar, and they have an organized system where you can write a drink order on a paper and place it on your table stand. The drinks are pretty standard. It's a comedy club, so don't expect fine dining. I like that they don't require a bar tab minimum. The venue seemed well ventilated, which is great considering how packed it gets. That said, however, it's a bit ridiculous how packed they fill the space. Each round table is about 2ft in diameter, and they designate it for 4 people. It was so cramped, I could feel knees in my back. Another complaint I have is that they accidentally oversold my table. They sold 6 seats to a table that only fits 4. It must've been a website glitch. Contrary to other reviews here, my experience is that the staff are very reasonable. They only intervene if someone is belligerent. That happened during our show, and the person was escorted out. The audience appreciated it because the individual was disrupting the show. read more

We went to see AJ Wilkerson at Vulcan last night. Impressions: - Good check-in, with different touch points: a guy to validate tickets, a guy to attach wrist bands, a guy to put the gadgets into a Yondr bag. It was my first exposure to Yondr bags. We get to keep those with us, and they weren't as obnoxious as I had feared. Yondr bags are easy to break into in case of an emergency. The check-in was perfunctory and professional. - The venue is a typical Austin 6th street bar format, maybe 40 or 50 feet wide and 125 feet deep. The bathrooms are in the back, the stage is adjacent to on the west wall in the center area, and the bar itself in the front, facing east. There's also a second floor balcony. Everything painted black. There are two exits on the ground floor, one in front and one in back; dunno about the upper floor. There are interesting LED light accent panels on both the west and east walls. - On the ground floor, in the venue area, there are four rows of seating, each with small tables. The first row is up against the stage, then an aisle, then a second row, third row, another narrow aisle, then the fourth row against the east wall. The rear aisle is barely wide enough to move a wheelchair through (as was done), if everyone breaths in a bit. It's cozy but not sardine-like. - The first two rows have normal seats, but the second two rows have stool seating and elevated tables. This works well for visibility, but as others have noted, the metal stools have a small seat and no back, and get uncomfortable after a while. - Only one person in our party of four had a mixed drink, and found it sweet, not much trace of alcohol. I had a Coke and it was fine. A lot of bars water down their soft drinks, too, but Vulcan doesn't. - The service was fantastic. Soon after seating, a waitress took our order. Subsequent orders are Alamo-style, written down on a card put atop a signal frame. Orders came back quickly, and old drinks were picked up. Everything is served in plastic cups, except for cans of beer. - Employee morale was good, with one waitress dressing up as a bell hop. Nobody seemed on a power trip. - They don't serve food. No kitchen. - The men's room was fine: clean, and in great shape. Perhaps it had been remodeled. One stall, three urinals and two sinks. There's a hand soap dispenser a foot or so above an electrical plug, which might raise the ire of a fire marshal. - The clientele was 100% white, almost like a Trump rally. Even a performer drew attention to that. But much younger. Late 20s. Lots of couples. - They don't bring the bills to close out. You can request one. If you wander off, they'll add a 15% gratuity. Two beers, a bottle of water, Coke, and a mixed drink were $52.99 + 15%, or $62.09. - Getting out was easy, with multiple staffers unlocking the Yondr bags. read more

This venue is a $#!* show. They opened up thirty minutes late, then the door guy threatened to make it longer when I mentioned the time. They had no ADA seating, the General seating were allowed to sit right next to the stage and they tried to put the VIP customers in the back. The bathrooms are disgusting, and my wife had to find a nice stranger to guard the door while she went. Then they traded. Vulcan is a real small venue, I love the open setup it has. I will say it does feel a little cramped in there which can create some issues in the walkways. The staff is great and very efficient in getting you drinks. They have a great system where you write your drinks down on a card that way they aren't interrupting a comedians set. I do recommend getting there early especially if you are there for a comedy show. Some of the seats you will not be able to see the stage and you will have to watch the show on a TV. You can get upgraded if you arrive early enough. Also the sound is great in that venue it is right off of dirty six so it is not in the best area of town. Great night of comedy at Vulcan on 7/31 while visiting Austin. We knew we'd be seeing Joe Rogan but had no idea he'd be bringing along Ron White & Tony Hinchcliffe as the featured acts, truly a great lineup. Things to know about going to Vulcan...for a comedy show anyway, can't speak to other events they hold: 1. Tickets are sold in advance online through their website. You can buy a table (4 top or 2 but you must buy the whole table) or a general admission ticket for a seat at the bar. If you buy a bar seat they'll assign you a spot when you get there. Don't be a dick - stay in your seat, standing and moving into the aisle will block the views of others and get you redirected to your spot by a staff member. 2. Don't buy tickets secondhand. We watched a guy have a whole situation with what looked like legit tickets that turned out to be fakes, he found out the hard way when the table he thought he'd been assigned to was actually someone else's. 3. Your phone and smart watch will have to go in a Yondr bag when you hit the door. This isn't negotiable. You hang on to your own bag and it'll be opened as you leave. They did a great job of getting this done very quickly when the show ended but if you're the type of person who can't go a few hours without disconnecting or knowing the time this isn't the place for you. Or maybe wear a regular watch. 4. They do not serve food. We did see people coming in with to go containers from surrounding restaurants before the show started so this is an option if you want/need to eat during the performance. Once you're inside the a/c is pumping nicely and it's a great escape from the heat. Our super friendly waitress made sure our drink orders were filled quickly and accurately. Prices weren't bad either - 4 cocktails + 2 waters came out to about $35 before tip. Really can't complain about that. Very well organized and friendly staff, if I had to complain about something it would be the stools and how tightly packed together the tables were. I get they want to fit a lot of people in but it was super cramped. Thankfully our table was just my wife and I and the tables to either side were also couples but these were labeled as 4 person tables, it would've been very uncomfortable for everyone had it been 12 people using those 3 tables. Also the stools are all metal and get to be a bit much after a few hours. But those little issues to one side it was a great night and we'd definitely see another show here. read more

The restrooms were so nasty. The floors nothing was clean the vents. It was a very filthy place to have a bingo Loco. They rip you off with a credit card. I read the reviews and said to take cash because they will sock it to you on a credit card they did to my friend. She only got one round and they charged her $300 on her credit card. Do not do not take your credit card. They will scam you. They will overcharge you be aware when you go to the restrooms. They're very filthy. It's not a very clean place. You can tell it's not clean. The entertainment was great though the prizes were not great at all. A dildo is not a great prize a cardboard poster not a great part. Great prize a small air fryer not great at all. The only prize was a Las Vegas trip. Good luck if it's true it's a money making place, but be aware of the restrooms and the place and don't use your credit card. "Best of Vulcan" comedy show on Saturday was the worst comedy show I have ever been to. Had heard great things about Vulcan so hoping this is a one off experience. I'm a big fan of comedy and have been to many shows. This is the first show I have ever left before it ended. Saw around 10 comedians with maybe 2 of them getting laughs out of my group and having half decent sets so we ended up leaving early to find something better to do with out time. "Best of Vulcan" is sort of deceiving because it is actually the best of Vulcan staff not the best of Vulcan comedians. Venue was okay but have been to tons of comedy clubs that are better. GA seating gets you the most uncomfortable metal bar stool with no back to lean against. For a two hour show with bombing comedians, the chair gets uncomfortable rather quickly. Drinks were fine. Seems to be a trend with a specific bouncer- he came over to our table during the middle of a comedic act to tell my friends and I (who weren't talking) to stop talking. I went outside at one point to check my phone and he hovered over my shoulder, told me I was being a snowflake, and called me a liar when I said we weren't talking indoors. Will never be back. Went there for a comedy show. The tables were so squished together there was no room. They had a 4 drink menu on the table. I ordered a ketel 1 and sprite. The show was pretty long and we were tired, it being a Sunday night we left in between acts after being there 2 hours. I went to cash out at the bar and my bill was 23 dollars for 1 premixed cocktail. I asked why? And the bartender rudely told me I ordered a double. It's a scam. The place was dingy and dirty, show started late, everyone was seated inches next to each other with no Covid precautions. 0/10. Disclaimer: some of the comedians were really good. Loved the host. Loving the comedy programming at Vulcan. I've dabbled in a few of the seating options downstairs (there's an upstairs, too) and these are my hot takes: -VIP/premier tables - right in front of the stage, so you have to be ok with being all up in the performer's business. Nothing else special/VIP about them -Reserved tables - sprinkled around the venue and in my opinion the best value. If you can get table 8, I think that's the best table in the house -General admission - The seating is just a hodgepodge of what's left so be sure to get there early so you don't get stuck towards the back of the bar (and can't see the performer at all) or near a trash can in a seat they're creating on the fly! They recently switched to barcodes for the menu, which is great, except they also are doing pouches for phones (at least for the comedy shows), so instead of being able to see/order straight from your phone, you kind of have to know what you want already and write it on a paper and stick it in a thing for the server to come through to collect during the show and the bring you. It's a wonky system and I think they're continuously working on it to make it more efficient, so just be patient with them and peep your tab closely for any mistakes. Lovely staff! No issues with acoustics and it's usually pretty chilly in there, so bring a sweater! If you're not on their newsletter, I recommend signing up for it! read more

I don't even know where to start... actually. I'll start with this is 100% my fault. Because I read the reviews and LAUGHED at the people getting kicked out of the comedy club for laughing. What Karens! What Chads! They must have been obnoxiously drunk and lacking self awareness. We made jokes about it all night on our way to the show that we had won tickets for. 'Don't drink too much at dinner- we can't laugh too loud at the comedy show! Lolz!' I'll give everyone 3 guesses what happened next.... We're enjoying the show so far, I lean over to say something to my date and like magic, a gentleman swooped down from thin air to tell me to please stop talking. I just said 'ok, sorry' but everyone was laughing at the time and I'm still totally flabbergasted how he picked my convo out of the room of laughing people? We weren't drunk or heckling at all and I could have easily picked out groups talking louder than us two- it was just the weirdest experience. I'm still expecting Ashton or Justin to pop out and yell 'punked!' When they say no talking during the show, the mean NO. Talking. At. All. We didn't actually get kicked out, but left shortly after because I'm not walking on egg shells about watching a comedy show I didn't want to stay there enjoying the comedians, but worrying about not laughing too loud or saying a single word to the person next to me. Giving it two stars because it wasn't a totally wasted evening. The bartender may have been the biggest joke of the night, but we are still laughing about it- at least something was memorably funny. Man I really wish I would have read these reviews before I came here. I bought my boyfriend and I tickets to a Joe Rogan show last night 10/19/22 (birthday gift for my SO). We had downstairs bar seating. We were super excited to decompress and have some laughs. We watched the opening acts and were having a great time. Then Joe came on. I've been a fan of his for years. I listen to his podcast regularly and was super stoked to see him. (I will say...The door workers, hosts and even the bartenders all seemed pretty great..Friendly and good spirits). But then... Boy was the wind taken out of my and my boyfriends sails. The lighter haired bearded bouncer/worker got really aggressive with my boyfriend when he was telling me something during the set (in a very normal speaking tone.. he is a rather soft spoken man in general so we were both very shocked that he, out of anyone, would be reprimanded) Same story I have now been reading on the reviews here. Very aggressive "shhhh" by this worker. He immediately asked "Do you want me to kick you out? I work for Joe!"... it was uncalled for and over the top rude and I sure hope not a reflection of Joe. Unfortunately, this puts a poor taste in my mouth overall and seeing these reviews and nothing changing since... it makes me think this is a reflection of one of my hero's (Joe Rogan) and sadly it makes me really reconsider my fandom if this ongoing issue hasn't been addressed and he keeps allowing the staff at Vulcan who apparently "work for Joe" to treat his fans in this horrible manner. So disheartened. What was supposed to be a fun night for 2 hardworking 30 something's to enjoy and decompress turned completely sour. We just left early because we didn't want to be there anymore after being treated like that. Couldn't be more disappointed on so many levels. I'd save your money and see Joe at a different venue (hopefully this isn't a trend outside of Vulcan).
