It was so breathtaking I had to catch my breath in between stretching!! Not your cookie-cutter EoS, which is refreshing. The downside? Only 2 racks, layout is a bit cramped. No Cryo Lounge. So, for post workout recovery? Ehhh... you'll have to settle for compression boots and massage chairs, which is still nice but basically, the spa equivalent of a firm handshake instead of a warm hug. Still a nice gym though. Staff is helpful and friendly, parking is plenty.

I feel the new Barre3 classes are an improvement to the previous Studio Barre classes for several reasons, even though, like many, I miss some of the old choreo. Barre3 workouts are kinesiology informed and remind me of a physical therapy session. The dynamic stretching and mini breathework at the end are great for my nervous system. This place is great for all ages of women that want a workout that will tone them all over and actually prevent rather than cause injuries. I adore Nora, whose class I took today, and every other person that teaches and works here.

This one is by far the best. It's well maintained and VERY clean; both out on the floor and in the locker room. The other members are well educated, friendly, and courteous when lifting weights/doing cardio's. Rarely do you hear grunts, groans and dropping weights. The front counter staff are friendly; both coming and going. The trainers are professional and know what they're doing. I like this facility. How often do I go; 7/7 (except for Thanksgiving and Christmas)

The inflated price seems to create extremely entitled, mostly older gym-goers, that hoard 4-5 sets of freeweights at a time, and then hold loud 45-minute work calls while monopolizing a cable tower and glaring at anyone who comes close. If you want your routine to take 2 hours to do half as much actual lifting, spend 20 minutes trying to park, and still cost literally 10x as other gyms, then go for it. And hey, at least the locker rooms are clean. Just never try to cancel. They will call, text, email, and otherwise harass you to re-join every 2-3 months for the rest of your life. And no, they do not listen to requests to stop.

I had to stop for a while, because of knee problems, and then was just taking the Zumba classes at the YMCA in Encinitas, because they come with my membership. I decided it's time to "get serious" for 2019, and lose some weight and get in better shape, so I decided I'd go back to Marcela for her Zumba. No one else has quite the happy and peppy attitude she has! She has a genuine smile on her face all the time, and makes her classes extra fun! It's worth the extra money I put out now, because I have more fun and work harder. Please don't get me wrong, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the Y! I love it there and love the people. It's just that Marcela has something that is a true "cut above" with her Zumba! Also, the classes I take with her are MUCH smaller, making it more intimate. It doesn't hurt that after being away from her classes for about 3 years, I walked in, and she called me by name! Who does THAT? If you want a GREAT workout, check out her classes. Marcela's classes are SPECIAL ...I love the music she plays and her choreography. She is upbeat ,fun and fabulous and plays the best music in her classes and and she always creates new dance routines so you are never bored...
