When the inside of your house has a heat index of 105*. Yup. My AC was sick. It needed a doctor STAT! I called on Thursday after two days of suffering and decided I couldn't take it anymore. I called up Sentry...because their sticker was on the AC.. and I was given two options. I could have someone come in the evening on overtime or I could wait until the next day and someone would be here before 12. I chose the next day, but then called back and changed it to the same day, because I was D-Y-I-N-G. Sooner rather than later, I get a call from someone saying they are on their way to my house to save the day. Then Perry shows up. Perry is a lifesaver. The poor guy was drenched in sweat by the time he was finished. Turns out the AC had a wretched air filter (my fault) and had frozen over. He turned the AC off and ran the fan and said that after 3 hours to turn it back on and see what happens. I cut him a check for $159 and he was on his way home...probably to take a shower. A couple of hours later he even called to tell me it was probably ok to turn it back on. The temp inside my house gradually went down and was back to normal......until the next day. I noticed it started creeping back up. BUT I was leaving for Florida so I decided it would have to wait. Monday morning bright and early I called Perry on his work number and told him the bad news. He told me to turn it off and run the fan, and that he would be over in due time. A few hours later he was at my door. He found nothing wrong with the AC itself, just that the power was not running up to par. He said that Alabama Power had been doing some work and was causing some power surges which might have interfered with the power supply, so he reset the AC internally and boom it started working. Here it is the next day and I am not dead. Perry, you are an AC god. Screw you Alabama Power. I hate you.

Negatives: I was charged $600 (in addition to the higher weekend fee to come out) for a repair that took 20 minutes and required no parts. It was two different charges that didn't really make sense because you couldn't have really done one without the other. It felt like I was taken advantage of as a single woman on a holiday weekend who didn't know how easy/quick the repair would be when I agreed to the cost. The service man also told me that the credit card payment on his tablet wasn't working so I had to pay by check. I wasn't planning to dispute a charge, but this made it to where I didn't have the option. I responded to two different text surveys with this rating and information and was assured both times that the service manager would follow up and they never did. My father also called multiple times and never got follow up. I was waiting until we heard back from them before I posted a negative review (I communicated this to them), but it's now been over 4 weeks. I have used them for repairs before without issue, but will not be using them again and would not recommend them to my friends/family/neighbors.

There was a message from the warranty company stating, "the vendor indicated you do not need this appointment". When I called Bo Jiffy, I was given an evasive response as to why the appointment was cancelled.The serviceman asked if I had turned the ac back on. He said the air usually comes back on after the system thaws and the filter is changed. It didn't make sense to me but I hung up and did as instructed. Well, the air didn't start to flow and the thermostat remained at 91 degrees. When I called Bo Jiffy back, my call went to voicemail. The staff has always been courteous, knowledge and they get the job done. There are all kind of other benefits that come with the membership so you should call and set it up. Its horrible to run around at the last minute trying to figure out who will fix your problem. Guess what, they do it all. We have had the same problem with our plumbing for over a year now. We have had countless people come out from Xcalibur to look at the problem and we have paid them almost $3,000 in total and nothing has been fixed. The first encounter was in December of 2024. I even paid for the VIP service because I was told that the VIP would help us get quicker appointments. We paid every quote we were given, and we did everything Xcalibur recommended. We even got our septic tank cleaned out unnecessarily because they recommended it. I first became frustrated with Xcalibur in January of 2025, because we had so many people come out and everyone assured us that the problem was fixed when they left. At that time, we were quoted $2,335 to fix the problem that we had been assured was already fixed. I wanted to use another company because I felt like we were getting the run around, but Xcalibur assured me that this would fix our problem. I was told that the company stands by their work and that they offer a warranty on their services. I reluctantly agreed to the work because they were so nice and I trusted them at their word. We were told everyone who had come out before from their company did not know what they were doing, but this plumber was the "fixer" and would make everything right. When I asked for a copy of the warranty, I was emailed a copy of the invoice only. Over a year later, and the problem is still not fixed. We had someone come out last week from Xcalibur, because the problem resurfaced yet again. Not only is there not a warranty on the work done by Xcalibur, but we paid almost $400 for a camera to be run (for a second time by Xcalibur). We were then provided a verbal quote for well over $10,000.00. I was again told that everyone who had come out before had no idea what they were doing but THIS would be the fix. The suggested quote included going through concrete and ripping our floors up. The flooring work was not included in the quote. At this point I have lost all trust in Xcalibur as they have repeatedly lied, and they do not stand by their work. They clearly do not even think their past plumbers did a good job. They clearly only care about money as they continually come out and quote more and more each time. The $400 we paid last week (on top of the money we have paid to them previously) did absolutely nothing, because only a few days later the problem was back. I called another company and they came out quickly and they were so incredibly professional. Everything Xcalibur failed to do in over a year has been fixed in only a few hours and around $750.
