I can't believe I'm the first one to write a review for Michael's Jewelry. My mom has been coming here and getting all of her jewelry needs here for over a decade! So I'm thinking maybe they have an older clientele who doesn't really go online. Given how picky my mom is; Michael, the owner of the store, must be a really patient person and good at what he does. She often brought her old jewelry (the ugly old stuff that she doesn't wear anymore) in and have Michael take out the diamonds for some crazy projects. And guess what? The new pieces that he made out of the scrap metals and stones are Stunning! They are also priced reasonably because he only charges labor cost for the projects. Note that I'm calling these "projects" because they are difficult to accomplish. My mom used to shop around Jewelers Row and most of the bench jewelers either rejected her ideas or claimed the work is too difficult that they didn't want to take the risk. I strongly recommend Michael's for anybody who wants to custom-make their jewelry. These are the actual bench jewelers who work on your jewelry, they also fix right away if anything goes wrong. Not like most of the big retail chains, where they usually send your jewelry out and tell you to wait a month for an update, along with outrageous prices. I didn't really have a in-person experience until recently. My mom gave me a ring she bought from Michael's for my birthday 3 years ago. One of the small diamonds fall out, so I took it to the store try to get it fixed. The owner's wife, Tracy, greeted me. She looked at the ring and immediately recognized it came from her stock. She said she will take care of it and ask me to come back in an hour or anytime later at my convenience. I mean, after 3 years, I still get repairs for free? You can't really beat this service anywhere. Plus I love her personality and attitude, she's easygoing, super friendly and very knowledgeable if you actually talk to her. Most importantly, she get things done! All she said is "don't worry about it, we take care our customers." Well, I guess she really do, because I have already obtained a quote from a jeweler in my neighborhood, the repair was quoted $250 and estimated to be done in 2 weeks. She did it with no charge, in less then an hour, on site! Can you believe??? I think I finally found my go-to jeweler now. I'm sure I will come back here very often just like how my mom will. I'm also glad that they have a big selection of loose diamonds and engagement rings, I'm definitely coming back here for future purchases. Just a heads up for people who are reading my review. Buying jewelry is not like you bought it and it's done. Jewelry requires maintenance too. So even if you pay a few extra hundred dollars here, it's worth it. The owners and staff here will never give you the weird look when you come back with problems. They save your time and ultimately, money, at the end. read more

Mailed me a defective ring with diamonds set crooked and at varying heights. Package arrived several days late due to USPS and WJ would not help me track package/ facilitate movement. They ignored my email inquiries regarding the defective item for days and then finally agreed to partially fix ring if I risked mailing it back. This place is great. I bought my wedding band here last year. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and honest. During one of my lunch breaks, I visited Michael's Jewelry in search of a wedding band. A blonde-haired woman showed me their collection of men's wedding bands, and she must have spent at least half an hour giving me her opinion of different rings on my hand. Once we narrowed my choices down to a rose gold band and a white gold band, she even called over two other store employees AND the owner to give their input. They all gave their opinions, and I felt like each of them were actually excited for me. I eventually chose the rose gold band, and I've gotten compliments on it ever since getting married last year. Two diamonds from my infinity band fell out (thankfully, I found the diamonds). I got my infinity band fixed here within an hour! They put in the two diamonds, tightened the prongs on the other settings and cleaned the band all under an hour! They do the work right in front of you and you can wait and watch if you want, so I felt at ease. I will definitely will be going back for my jewelry repair needs! read more

Buying diamonds can be overwhelming but there is something about this staff, particularly Alex, that makes the process enjoyable. I'm with Sarah J - I can't believe there aren't more reviews on here but I think the theory is right - the demographic might not be a Yelping demographic. My mom referred me here just like the other person reviewing. My mom used to work for Macy's, and Macy's would send their jewelry here for repair. I've come here for two custom jewelry pieces so far and Tracy there is amazing. She has worked with me for so many hours to plan the pieces I had in mind, trading emails and photos and phone calls. All she ever charged me for was the actual labor and materials to build the pieces, and even then the prices were unbelievably reasonable. One piece we had done was a custom engagement ring using my grandmother's diamond. The ring appraised for several thousand dollars more than we were charged for it. I wouldn't have trusted anyone else with the diamond, so knowing that was safe and sound was key but the huge return on investment was a very big bonus. Not to mention how gorgeous my ring is - everyone comments on it, even folks checking me through airport security :). Anyway, I basically will only come here when I need custom jewelry now and I highly recommended them, for custom jewelry or otherwise. read more
