True to its name, the lodge has gorgeous views of the water, and a welcoming, rustic aesthetic. We didn't order anything fancy or particularly adventurous: a bison burger for myself, and some surf-and-turf sturf for me wurf (sorry, the Swedish Chef in me took over there for a moment!). Everything was good, if not particularly remarkable, but it certainly did the job. Expect hearty, homestyle cooking, not haute cuisine, and your expectations will surely be met to your satisfaction. Service was present, attentive and friendly, and if it weren't for that passive sense of anxiety that comes with being the last served table in a closing restaurant (not their fault; that's my own hang-up), I would have felt more at-ease. I wish we'd had more time to check out the restaurant and the resort, but I guess that'll have to wait for a return trip, sometime in the future.

I was very disappointed with the level of customer service and management responsiveness I received. On three separate occasions, your customer service representatives assured me that a manager would contact me regarding my concerns. Unfortunately, I never received a return call. Failing to follow through on promised callbacks creates a poor customer experience and leaves customers feeling ignored. During my initial conversation, a customer service representative explained that in an emergency, management would typically contact the customer directly to discuss the circumstances and, when appropriate, consider a partial refund or another resolution. Based on that information, I expected at least the courtesy of a conversation with management regarding my concerns. Instead, my attempts to communicate were repeatedly disregarded. On my final call, the representative answered in a way that made me feel like an inconvenience rather than a valued customer. Throughout the entire process, the manager never returned my calls or spoke with me directly. Regardless of the outcome, I believe every customer deserves respectful communication and follow-through when concerns are raised. Unfortunately, my experience reflected a lack of professionalism and customer care, which is not how a reputable business should operate.

We had 3 adults and 2 kids in our 2 queens and pull-out-couch-bed room. The bathroom/shower was just too small for a room that can sleep up to 6 guests. We did enjoy their free coffee that they have available 24/7. The continental breakfast was 2/5 stars. All the fruit they offered didn't look appetizing, I don't mind powdered scrambled eggs but I just couldn't eat theirs. They only offered sausage other than eggs and it looked very unappetizing. So unless you only eat cereal, bagels, and waffles for breakfast- you might not want to count on eating their breakfast, unfortunately.

The cabins were comfortable in size, extremely clean, and very well set up for a Yellowstone trip. The kitchenette was especially useful for us, and having a dishwasher was a great bonus. The location really could not be beat -- it was very close to the West Yellowstone entrance, which helped us avoid a lot of traffic and made it easy to structure our days in the park. We were able to see the upper part of Yellowstone one day, the lower part another day, and then use the rest of our time to revisit and explore the places we wanted to see more deeply. The staff were also extremely friendly and helpful, which added to the overall experience. Another nice touch was the fire pits, which they turned on around 5 p.m. each evening. It was a fun and relaxed way to meet some of the other people staying at the cabins. Overall, we were very happy with our stay. Comfortable cabins, a great location, friendly staff, and a really enjoyable atmosphere. Highly recommended.

We met the people staying in the Grizzly Cabin (larger place, full house, on the same property next to us) and they were so pleasant. Then there is the Grizzly Lodge which is even larger! The cabin and lodge had their own hot tubs, and they had fire pits and firepit seating with swings made out of ski lift chairs. The whole experience was the best of our 8 day trip (OR to WY and back) to be honest, when it came to lodging.

But if you go to the office during office hours, they're able to provide you with quarters if you need them exchanged. The condo had everything that I needed and as other reviewers mentioned, if you're going to be there for a while, might be mindful to bring Ziploc bags to store your food in. I will highly recommend this place even though cuz I flew and JAC airport.

Unfortunately, the reality is quite different. We had booked a hotel style room in one of their buildings. They also have cabins and RV hook ups. As soon as we found the place, their very dated and faded sign out front was the first indication that this place was old. It's over 100 years old and in many ways, feels like it. Despite this being a large property, it was pretty deserted. We only saw a couple of other people staying there. A pay phone on the wall. The "arcade" was dingy and outdated. The gym seems to be storage room. I opened the door to the gym and there was a mattress inside almost blocking the door. The first room they showed us felt like a basement because the view was slightly below ground, looking at galvanized metal placed just outside the window. The room was tiny and smelled musty. We asked for a different room. The second room they showed us was also tiny and smelled musty. It had a view that still made it feel like a basement, but at least it didn't have metal outside the window. We asked for a different room. The third room was bigger and had a full window view. It didn't smell, so we took it. We could see the resort was old and dumpy, but figured a clean bed and a shower was really all we needed. Our mistake was assuming the room actually had a bed. The so-called bed turned out to be nothing more than a queen sized metal cot with a thin mattress on it. OMG, that thing was so uncomfortable! At 3am we still hadn't been able to ignore the discomfort and had not gotten to sleep yet. My back was in so much pain!! We had booked four nights there, but we couldn't survive one. We started calling around to find another hotel with real beds and a vacancy. Once we found one, we packed up the car and checked out when the office opened. The guy at the desk didn't seem surprised at all and was very nice about it. Clearly he's used to the complaints. Jared's Wild Rose has been dying a long slow death. Best to avoid it and stay at a place for the living.

Staff caveat : Communication failures occurred by park staff regarding applying military discount. The park literature offers military discount. However, when asked about this upon check in the staff (on two separate occasions) could not provide me an accurate answer. And not able to apply any discount for my stay. Customer beware to ask in advance for military discounts. The fine print does not actually offer a 10% discount. The staff did not know the policy and gave me inaccurate information and attitude when asked about this. This is not a good look. And more importantly disrespectful to a veteran. 6. Beware to check and double check credit card charges to be sure you are accurately charged for your stay.
