Today we went to the Waffle House across from a Home Depot in Commere. their service is usually pretty good but we had the worse service. Our waitress took our order right away but didn't bring us anything to drink until after we received our food and she completely ignored our table while checking in her other customers. She never asked if we needed anything after gving us our ticket. When my husband complained this young lady had an attitude and walked off. The manager came over and took up for her bad employee instead of listening to us. I'm so disappointed since we have always received good service at this restaurant. Food taste like crap, equivalent to McDonalds. Mine was to go, so can't gauge service. But it was alright. Ambiance was somewhat boisterous. Lots of ppl there at 1am. There's now 2 fees associated with to go. Togo service charge, & Togo supply fee. I very rarely patron WF. Less than 5x in my entire life. Lesson learned. I'd just wait for fast food to open at 5am. To go orders have a 20% markup because it is simply a to go order and the prices are already outrageous like 40% higher than the dine in order pricing!! And then there is a 20% to go fee added on top of that! It's like they are just out to take advantage of people who are just simply trying to get their food to go!!! They could learn a lot from huddle house who does not charge any upscale prices to do to go orders. It is the same pricing across the board. read more

12/24/19 - This was the best Waffle House I've been to in Georgia. We were on our way to NC to visit my family for the holidays and l learned that my cousin, from California, never ate at Waffle House. I immediately stopped at the next Waffle House and we went in. It was around 7 in the morning and for some reason I was craving a steak and Waffle House has that on the menu from less than $10.... the steak was much better than you'd expect for that price and for being served at Waffle House. My cousin enjoyed her Waffle House and so did we.... this place has always been my go to when hungover and after night out, but I will def consider eating here during normal adult hours. read more

Sat at the counter which was nice and clean and got the best service. We were greeted within a couple of minutes and were given our drinks shortly afterwards. Our chocolate chip pancake was warm, fluffy and perfectly browned, my eggs were cooked over medium just as I asked, and the bacon and hashbrowns were crispy! They checked on us multiple times throughout the meal, and they were kind to everyone, especially their regulars who you could tell loved coming in. Watching everyone work was quite the show. They joked and moved fluidly and efficiently. Well done guys. The bathrooms are clean, too! read more

I understand that we are in the middle of a global pandemic, but my family and I (party of 3) were standing in the Waffle House for 20 minutes before we just left. No one greeted us, no one cleared off a table for us, and no one said it would be a few minutes or anything like that. There were only 4 customers in the restaurant, 2 separate parties, there was no sense in the way we were treated. The staff weren't wearing masks at all. In conclusion, I will never set foot into this Waffle House again. read more

It used to be mandatory I stop at a Waffle House whenever I crossed the Mason-Dixon line but that mandate has seemed to have dissipated once I began to extend my reach westward. Today that mandate has broaden to the point I needed to stop at a WH in any city that has one South of New Jersey and East of Arizona. This leaves roughly about thirteen states off the bat where I don't expect to find a Waffle House. So with that said I guess I should put out the "greasy spoon" disclaimer. If you are looking for fine dining, elegant service or respectable patrons this is NOT the place for you. WH is devoid of pretention and the furthest thing from your favorite family style dining atmosphere. Handle your business when you get here because the person serving you is typically on their third shift and second gig probably on their way to a third at shift's end. On top of a hectic work schedule the WH gets packed during peak hours but those hours are not your typical time frames. What probably offered truckers and wary travelers a quick and easy fix to satiate their apetites has become a destination for party goers after the club! Or in many cases the party is once you walk in!! Depending on the weekend waits can be as short as an hour or as long as three hours just to sit at the bar. All Star Weekend is one of those weekends you should definitely avoid the WH. But all other times are a GO!! Even after the club and if you have to drive 10 miles from one to the next because the let-out has the nearest one packed just know beforehand...it is a trip well deserved! read more

We ate here this morning. The experience was EXTREMELY STRESSFUL! Apparently a young new employee was not sanitizing properly and had her bucket in the wrong place. All the old bitter lady's had something too say about it. They were so worried about her they didn't give the customer's the attention we were paying for! Very busy but we got the last two spots. At the end of the bar. Melissa was our server today. She was awesome and friendly. She was hustling. Today it looked like they were getting a store inspection. There were two ladies standing in front watching everything and marking things on a clip board. One would hold the door for you. When leaving and coming. Which was nice. She would smile at you. She seemed pleasant. She would not speak. She should have been saying good morning when entering and thank you coming by. Listennnn.....I love the South. I mean really, really have a deep love and sincere appreciation for it - and Waffle House is one of the many reasons why. I have family all throughout Tennessee, Georgia, Virginia and the Carolinas and I've eaten at many a Waffle House in my day. I've often complained about there being so few of them up north, and this fact saddens me. I've always enjoyed the ones I've been to...but when I tell you that I've never had an experience like the one I had at this particular Waffle House, I need you to believe every word! My friend and I stopped in here for breakfast on our way to Charlotte, NC for Thanksgiving. I decided to try something I hadn't had before: The Fiesta Omelette. I also opted for toast and hashbrowns as an accompaniment. I figured it would be good, but I was not expecting spectacular. It was so good, I had to share the news with our super friendly server. She, in turn, told the cook and he came over just to say "Thanks, I'm so glad you enjoyed it". (Man, if only we got this kind of treatment in Philly....) Everything was super clean. Some of the other servers sparked up random conversation with us at our table. The food was hot and tasty. The coffee was strong. I'm headed back to Charlotte in a few weeks and you had best believe I'm heading to THIS Waffle House! read more

Wow. This is by far the best Waffle House I have ever been in. It was a Sunday morning and the place was packed. There were cars parked outside the parking lot, wrapped around the building. We were lucky to find a parking spot within the parking lot itself. As we walked in the door, we were greeted by not 1, not 2, but three 3 house greeters! The restaurant was small and had limited space, but we were quickly seated in the waiting area chairs. The main greeter offered us drinks while we waited and was very friendly and kind. We declined them, but really appreciated the gesture. After about a 5 min. wait, we were seated in a freshly cleaned booth. I was pleasantly surprised that around 11am, I was still able to get fresh oatmeal--which is something I ask for at every Waffle House I go to, and it has so far, never been available no matter what time I go, even if it is on the menu--. They even gave me brown sugar, and 2 packs of dried fruit and fresh pecans in a cup! :) While we were eating, a little girl seated in the booth behind us was celebrating her birthday and the staff had everyone sing happy birthday to her, and they took a candy bar, smothered it in whip cream and put 5 candles on it! Then, all the staff gave her 1 dollar each! They even gave her sister a dollar! These ladies that work at this location are simply amazing! A few minutes after this happened, one of the servers starting singing a Waffle House commercial song (and she had a really good voice!) and a few others joined in. It was a real cool moment. It is obvious that the people that work here really enjoy their job. The restaurant was clean and well organized and the food was very good. If I am ever in this area for breakfast again, I will definitely make it a point to go here. Great job! read more

Went to have breakfast, but the male cook on duty was yelling at the waitresses and other cooks. He was refusing to give them their food they need, out waitress ended up apologize for him and herself because he was a pure azz. Yelling and cussing at them til some walked out. Then management was yelling back and forth with him. I do not recommend this restaurant at all, but wish the waitresses best of luck read more

Our server was friendly, but that was the worst food from a Waffle House my husband and I have ever had. Not one part of our meal was edible. My husband had the all star breakfast, and his waffle wasn't cooked all the way, his eggs that were ordered scrambled extra well done were wet and soft, and the toast was so cold that the heaping scoops of margarine on it didn't melt. My cheese eggs looked like they were sitting in water. Also, the Tabasco bottle on the table was covered in crust which grossed me out. This location definitely needs some quality control. read more

I've been to the WH as a child but just recently revisited when I went on my own adventure to GA. The breakfast was really good. The only problem is that I wouldn't go there to get waffles. The waffle was a little soft for my liking but I really enjoyed everything else. I'm a grits girl so it was surprising to me that I didn't need to add anything to my grits. Usually when I order eggs they are over or undercooked. Even my eggs were cooked perfectly. I would definitely go back. If i did get a waffle I'd get them to cook it twice. read more

I ordered eggs over medium. Whites were still runny. Sausage was delivered ( by a different waiter when he couldn't figure out which customer they went to) after I had eaten about 1/4 of my meal. Waitress never asked/acknowledged that I got my sausage. Waitress never asked me if my meal was okay. I left 1/2 of the eggs, waitress did not ask if they were fixed okay. read more

When I walked in, service was very busy. I was surprised I even was able to find a seat. Restaurant cleanliness was below-average for that time period, but given the number of customers coming and going, it was acceptable; the waiters were dutifully keeping the place clean. I ordered 2 Egg+Cheese Biscuits and plain Hashbrowns. I received my food significantly faster than most Waffle Houses I go to. The eggs were very slightly runny but otherwise hot, moist, and delicious. The biscuits were toasted on the grill, and when I inspected them, they had minimal charring, which I was pleasantly surprised by (I'm used to other Waffle Houses burning the bread). The hashbrowns were moist but not greasy, the best I've ever had. A waitress mentioned that this Waffle House is the busiest WH in the state of Georgia. The general population, including the clientele, might look old but they haven't lost a single beat! VERY disgusting and rude service. Upon walking in, we noticed FLIES on the countertops. When we brought it to a woman who seemed to be the manager's attention, she said "This Georgia-what do you expect?" I grew up around here and consider this an insult. The staff was VERY RUDE- it was a good 20 mins from the time we sat down before our server came to our table, and there weren't that many people at the time. We left no tip. The bathrooms were as dirty as you'd expect a truck stop bathroom to be, but NOT a diner. The food was less than par, even for this kind of place. Grits were runny and so were the eggs.
