Have not gone to a huddle house in over 30 years. Decided to try one again and this one was fantastic. Went for brunch with my retirement buddy. Good food, good service, and the totally enjoyable meal. Our server kept us laughing. Every time she came to fill our coffee cups, she would engage us in friendly banter. We stopped here on our way home from Helen. We got sat right away. The entire staff worked together perfectly and were super friendly. This was my first time in. The parking lot was always full on Saturday morning, so there must be something good going on. I am so glad I stopped for breakfast. Gigantic portions of food! I had sausage, bacon stuffed hash browns. Eggs, bacon, sausage, cheese stuffed into hash browns, covered with sausage gravy....oh Lawd! I couldn't finish it. It was absolutely delish! Store wasn't very busy but we still had to wait over 45 minutes for our food. Then the food had hair in it. Not just one hair but multiple hairs. The server was nice enough to not charge for that item but no manager spoke with us or anything. Customer service was horrible. We are reminded why we never eat at Huddle House. read more

Powdered eggs! They kill a million chicken a day in this town and here they serve powdered eggs. I don't get it? I doubt we'll be back so no worries. Even though it's new it's a unwelcoming little place that gives off a negative vibe. There was a shooting here not long ago. I don't think it had anything to do with the food but if it did I could understand. Excited to have another breakfast and late nite option in Gainesville, esp in a part of town that has lacked the above FOREVER. I don't want to pile on here, so if you've read the other reviews, mine will be more of the same. The food is pretty good. Wide variety/big menu that offers plenty of choices for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The prices aren't bad, esp if you bring one of the many coupons they send out in the local area. As with most new restaurants, though, they are having growing pains, esp when it comes to wait time for food and service. I think they are doing their best with what they have, but their staff is simply overwhelmed. I see the same 3-4 ladies working every time I visit. They need more help, and that help needs to be better trained. Paring down the number of menu items will keep the cook from being as overwhelmed as well. Reminds me a lot of Denny's when it opened across town. They ended up fixing their service issues and it is now a 4-5 star place imo. If you bring your patience pills and don't need to be anywhere in a hurry, this place is a decent option. read more

I came in there, sat down and waited to be approached by one of the workers , we waited and they would just look at us , we had been sitting there for about 5 min when a white couple comes in and they quickly approach them, i have never had a problem until now , what made me more mad was the fact that the waitress looked at us multiple times while with the other couple , we walked out because we know the reason they did this was because they were white and we weren't. The food is very good here, especially breakfast. But they really need more servers, cooks, dishwashers, everything! The staff do the best they can but are quickly getting burned out. The hiring sign is up; sure hope they get some help soon! Compare this location to the one in Cleveland where the number of staff exceeds the number of customers. The food was delicious. Server was nice but distracted with a "best friend being in town". For a good 15 mins we were the only people in the building other than the cook visible to the eye. Then a couple came in With their dog. They might have been the "best friend" we were told about. Everything came out great except that I ordered a Philly omelet and got the philly sandwich instead. I just ate that and it was great. I didn't bother saying my order was wrong. We didn't have a bad experience but I wouldn't say it was good either. Dirty table to start. Coffee had been brewing too long and tasted terrible. Salad had been in the bag too long.. was wilted and tasted rotten. Hash browns barely warmed up-- not crispy. They were packed when we got here but they only had one cook and the 3 servers were running around like chickens without their heads. They ran out of silverware and other staples.
