My wife and I went to waffle house on McPherson Church Road in Fayetteville NC on Thursday December 26, 2024.We had an awesome experience. The waiter (CJ) was so good at his job. He was very friendly, and he made sure we had everything we needed. And I couldn't believe the cook (Tim) even came to our table to make sure our waffle and bacon was cooked to our satisfaction. ALWAYS need to visit a Wafflehouse when I'm back east on a trip, and accordingly, my wife and I patronized the most central WH in probably all of Fayetteville! In fact, when my wife and I were stationed at Ft. Bragg from '83-'86, our apartment's kitchen pipes froze on one very cold December 1983 morning...so the whole famn damily went to this same WH for breakfast 39 years ago! Talk about a repeat customer? But this store was a quick drive down from our nearby hotel, and there wasn't much of a wait. My wife and I sat in the corner and our waitress had our order taken quickly and yelled directly to the cook. Gotta' love that. Sure, it needed some housekeeping attention (don't they all?) but the food was most excellent and my wife and I enjoyed the breakfast immensely. The place was super busy and the wait staff was hustling the entire time, and it truly was fun people-watching as we ate. Again, I've never had a bad meal at a WH and this venue was right in line with all of the other restaurants I've visited across the USA. Good chow and solid service. Diamond told me there was a line before I could even ask about a table, then next thing I see is a family being seated that walked in after me after waiting about 10 minutes. The gentlemen waiting with his daughter "in-line" in front of me walked out because they are slow to clean tables and roll the next family along. When I approached the front I was asked by the same individual "are you waiting for a table" as if she didn't remember engaging me the first time about a table. Hell, freaking, yes. So I finally made it out to the Waffle House. I kid you not, before I went there - I stopped in the parking lot of the local "high end" steak house. I then thought to myself, dude - I need to go to the Waffle House and drove off. I arrive at the Waffle House and there's only one other customer. I can't find anyone in the place - so I just sit at the counter and look trough the menu - in handy single page laminated format. I see the prices and I'm just shocked by how cheap the food is. Once again, remember I never been here before and I had quite a choice you see.... as this Waffle House IS ACROSS THE STREET FROM ANOTHER WAFFLE HOUSE. But trust me, this is the good one - It's the one I picked. The waitress and cook come out, they are both as friendly as can be and just genuinely nice people - not just because they're supposed to have a friendly face, they just honestly do - there's a difference and you can tell. So, after looking at the menu - I settle on picking some "signature dishes" - one of them being Bert's Chili - not the regular one mind you, but the one called "Bert's Best Bowl of Chili" - and by god, if it wasn't tasty. Don't get me wrong, we're measuring everything on set expectations - and so far, it's being exceeded. Some of the other items I ordered were of course... 2 waffles, not the best waffle in the world - but it was hot and ready and came out in minutes! So, after that artery clogging pile of butter, chili and cheese. I decided, you know what makes sense? Some Southern Pecan Pie - Aunt Maggie's pie, to be exact. I see it being heated up - it was sitting in a pie holder and it's apparently best served warm - I see some yellow-stuff on it, and I think to myself "good lord, is that covered in butter?" - once it's done heating on the same grill where eggs, meat, hash browns and pretty much everything else is being cooked. I get the warm gooey mess on my counter - guess what? It sure as hell was butter - I felt wrong, for the first two bites - but, I got used to it pretty fast. I decided to pair this up with "The World's Best Coffee" - it wasn't, obviously - but, it kept coming for a few cups and was perfectly watery enough to deal with the definition of rich that was the pie. So ended my Waffle House experience... and some of the best service I've had. Just remember, go to this one.. .not the one across the street.! read more

I have always made sure to eat breakfast at this Waffle House. Nothing extra ordinary but I love the customer service and how the staff interacts with customers & each other. Today, while getting my usual breakfast, I noticed something different. A homeless guy wanting something... anything. The staff treated this guy with so much respect & made sure he had something. They even allowed him to charge his phone while eating. He chose to eat outside, but was given the option to be inside at a booth since it was slow at the moment. Really glad to know that these young workers have a heart & I will gladly continue to eat here! Such a loving experience! read more

First let me say that I understand that this season of COVID has definitely stressed everyone out for an entire year. With that being said, it doesn't give employees the green light to talk to them any kind of way. Yesterday, we stopped at this Waffle House before starting our day and we're pretty excited that there were few patrons. We waited only a moment before the bar top was wiped down for us. My friend ordered an All Star Platter and I ordered a hash brown bowl. We both ordered waffles as well. Our main dishes came up pretty fast but the waffles did not. As we ate and waited for our waffles, our waitress had to cash some people out and the woman working on our waffles had gone on to new orders. When our waitress got done at the register, she asked us if we had gotten our waffles. We said no and asked the women cooking the food where the waffles were. The woman (who would not give us her name and was not wearing a name badge either) proceeded to pull the waffles from the iron and give them to our waitress to give to us. Now I have had MANY Waffle House waffles but these were on the verge of being black AND were hard. I said something to my friend because hers looked the same and she decided to say something to our waitress. She asked our waitress for a new waffle. The woman making the waffles didn't look pleased we had asked for a new waffle but began making another one. When the waffle was done, she yelled to me "MA'AM! You can come back here and get your soft, fluffy waffle!" Luckily our waitress grabbed the waffle and brought it to us. My friend asked our waitress for the woman's name and she went asked the woman what her name was. She said "Why?!" My friend caught her attention and simply said "Thank you". The woman then started shouting about how she needed a smoke break because she was tired of cooking food. We paid and left. I understand stress. I understand needing a smoke break. But what I don't understand is rude and unnecessary comments. The food was good. But I'm not sure of anyone who would want to eat a hard waffle at Waffle House. I hope that woman gets the break she needs so that no one else will be told to come back there and get their own waffle. read more

My son and I arrived at this Waffle House location at 1125 and decided that waiting 20 mins without a greeting or any acknowledgement of our presence was beyond disrespectful. I would understand overlooking us if the establishment was overly packed. However, three tables had no occupants but remained dirty for 15 mins. One group of three patrons requested a wash cloth to clean their own table; just so that they could be waited on. This experience was horrorible. Please do better. read more

This is THE Waffle House to go to in this part of town. There's one caddy corner (closer to wal mart) that you'll wanna stay away from. This one is the real greasy spoon and the other one tries to be all uppity and stuff. The hash browns can be a meal all by themselves if you order 'em right. Typical Waffle House menu so the patty melts are awesome, too. I normally have the pork chops and eggs which will clog your arteries, but they're so good that you won't care. First time coming to this location. I've been to numerous WH in multiple states - I have to to say, this is the only one, I ever left not happy with. Some are ok and some are great. This one... neither. Took them 12 minutes to get my drink order. Another five to get me what I ordered to drink. I would understand if it was busy but, only four tables were being used, to include mine. A couple came in when I received my food. They did not get their drink order taken until I was at the end of my meal. This is surprising to me. Waffle houses might look chaotic but, they work fast. This one was almost empty and slow. I never got asked for a refill for my water or coffee. Had to ask after waiting sometime. Food was ok. Nothing great, nothing bad.
