I arrived from a flight back to KC around midnight and I was looking for something to eat and decided to stop here. It wasn't busy when I arrived which was nice, and I took a seat at one of the tables. When I began looking around the store, I noticed the trash on the floors, the countertops were dirty, dishes piled, and food residue everywhere inside the kitchen. My server came and placed a water glass on my table with silverware. The water glass itself was dirty in some areas and my silverware was also dirty. I decided to order the Bacon Cheeseburger with hashbrowns to go with plastic silverware. The burger itself was good and had great flavor, juicy, and flavorful. The hashbrowns were crunchy, salted perfectly, and delicious. However, I felt uncomfortable eating the food because of the restaurant's condition. I saw the server scrape the food instrument used to flip the pancake in the pancake maker on leftover pancake residue on the counter and I was sickened knowing that someone's food was being made using that same item. Not only that, but the workers inside this establishment were not professional and were cussing half of the time I was there. Overall, I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. The cleanliness was below standard, the professionalism is below standard, and I didn't feel comfortable eating my food knowing that the spatula making my food could've been used on something it shouldn't of. read more

New to the area from the marxist city of Portland, OR we were advised to avoid Waffle House - so of course we had to see what we were missing! Jonesing for breakfast at dinner time, we made a spontaneous stop and we weren't disappointed. The restaurant had a bright, clean appearance with a retro design. Our server was Hanna. She was personable, helpful, energetic and attentive - Just what we didn't expect. In fact, it's fair to say her service was exemplary. I had a triple size bowl of hash browns with 2 scrambled eggs, mushroom caps, and sausage all mixed in and smothered in gravy. It was delish! My wife had a waffle, 2 eggs over easy, and hash browns. She thought it was great and I believe her. The menu consists mostly of breakfast-oriented items as well as a few sandwiches and burgers. Pro Tips: Apple Pay is not accepted, payment is made at the register and they are open 24/7. Look, Waffle House doesn't pretend to be what it's not. Came in during covid. This Waffle House was safe and clean. Everyone is super nice that was working. One of the best Waffle Houses we have came too. Food was great, and service was best we have had in a long time. I can't give this Waffle House enough praise. Great with my son, and another baby that was sitting 2 booths away. Our server was named Jamie, and the cook was Jeremy, and the cleaner and other server was Scott. Ordered our food and was out within 5 minutes. Being from Las Vegas, I always get excited when I see a Waffle House. Our server, Nick, was very friendly and found it funny when he saw me taking pictures of the food. The food came out very quickly and was well made; bacon was crispy, eggs made exactly how I asked, love that they had raisin toast, and the pecan waffles were delicious. The whole meal for my Uncle and I cost less than $30 which I was very pleased with. Will definitely return next time I'm back in Liberty, MO. read more

It's the Waffle House, not a 4 star dining experience or the healthiest choice - I get it. Saturday morning review - server "Chasity" was very friendly, attentive service. Always a fun (albeit odd) time to take the kiddos & let them make comments about the servers hollering the orders to the cook who is less than 5 feet away from them. (My daughter remarks, "why don't they just hand the order to the cook & let them read it?" Ambiance, albeit odd, it's the WH way) Food is good - pecan waffle (5) and coffee (2) makes me happy; kiddos enjoy waffle off kids menu with chocolate chips and a drink (5). Waffle house is waffle house. If you've been to one, you've been to them all. The food here is pretty consistent, yet good. I am a huge fan of their covered hash browns and get them every time I come here. I particularly like this location because of the friendliness of the staff. Sad disappointment at Waffle House today. Excited to treat my granddaughter to her favorite breakfast of steak and waffles, on her birthday and the last day of school. We had planned this for a couple weeks, and wore our masks although local restrictions had been lifted. Arrived at 5:45 am, expecting a warm greeting and a hot breakfast. ( She was wearing a smile and a birthday crown). We were sadly disappointed. We received no greeting, smile or apology. Although they advertised 24 hr dining, we were told they only had carry out. We were even asked not to sit at the counter while we waited. We waited to drive back home, hurriedly eat the cold breakfast, and rush to meet the bus to middle school. To me, Waffle House is Waffle House, really. The food is basically the same as I've ever had at any other location. I've never ordered from the lunch or dinner menu but I just like the breakfast food there so I haven't branched out. The service I received at this location was excellent. The food was made promptly, right in front of me, and served hot and with a smile. I have zero complaints and will definitely return! I don't think there was any actual sausage in my sausage gravy but maybe they switched gravy and didn't update the menu? Nothing too crazy, but worth mentioning. read more

hadn't been to a waffle house since I was kid and since it was close I decided to go. The food came out like we ordered it, but the place was nasty. The windows seals were caked with dust, dirt, and grease of years. The window had a film of dust, grease, hair, and lint. and the seats and floor were nasty. Instead of going to the restroom, I decided to go get some hand sanitizer from my car, because if I was to witness a nasty restroom I would have went home. our server was nice, but when I told him about the neglect I spotted he got frustrated and walked away while I was talking to him; no good. his name was Jonathan!! He said he was going to turn in my complaint to management, but I doubt that will happen. on top of the window and the floor and the seats and the possibility that the restrooms weren't clean, the ceiling was lined with fuzz, because of year of not being dusted. they had Christmas decoration on the light fixtures, but failed to clean the ceiling; that makes a lot of sense!! Anyway, besides the food being okay, the place needs a deep cleaning and management needs to be slapped on the hand and face for not making sure the environment is welcoming to people in a clean way. I don't think, no, I know I won't be back, but I hope that this review causes management to do what is necessary to get the restaurant clean and help the employees to keep it clean. read more

Worst Waffle House I have ever been to. From Az to Florida To Penn worst. I go to a WH at least once a month and on the road weekly if not more. Love The House. After prev less than normal WH expectations I never wanted to return to the Liberty House. My young son loves the one in Excelsior, but we were in Liberty and he wanted to go, so I gave it another shot. We got to order right away. I got a work text while ordering. Went to the can. Returned our drinks were there, great. Returned the text and my son and I were talking. Then I heard an order being put in to the cook. Unless the only other table in the place ordered the same thing, it was our order. Looked at the time, and the text, 14min! I asked, and yes it was our order. They did not bother to put our order in for a quarter of a freaking hour. There were only 4 customers and 3 employees. I was insulted for asking about it, and asked why I was interrupting and delaying my food. We paid for our drinks and left. Did not even get an apology, just a mutter that we should be charged for the eggs they started. Never have been back in 6 months. Have heard similar stories from others about this location. I highly recommend and frequent the Antioch and Excelsior Springs location. Worth the extra couple of miles. Have had good experiences at the Tiffany Springs one too. Safe journey. read more

This is one of those, you can't make this up accounts. But it occurred at this exact Waffle House. The food wasn't bad but the dining experience was less that optimal. Let's say it was just the atmosphere that spoiled the experience. We had been driving from Minneapolis where we had visited our daughter. It was after midnight on our way back to Texas. We had previously eaten at a nearby catfish establishment on I-35 on the north side of Kansas City. It was quite late so we ordered pancakes, bacon, coffee,etc. and hungrily were awaiting our order when this horrific odor wafted our way. Smelled like the sewage pipeline had broken near or under the restaurant. I was starting to gag when we overheard the waitress admonishing the cook who was continuously and indiscriminantly, probably intentionally, passing this horrendous smelling gas, commenting about it, laughing hysterically with each explosion. I cant remember if we left or stayed at that point but certainly such a high volume of foul smelling methane released in a short time in that small space was unprecedented in my experience. Quite certain we did not leave a tip. I tried a Waffle House a few years later in Atlanta near Centennial Park while my wife waited outside. She wouldn't even consider a to-go order from that Waffle House, years later, and a thousand miles away. read more

I personally love their waffles, and that's why I go there. We ordered hash browns with ham and cheese mixed with them. The first order they made with onions that we didn't ask for. On the second order, one had some onions with it. I told the waiter we didn't want that now, and why. I said tasks it off of our check. He took it too his manager who took the plate in the back room. She came back, and said she sifted through it, and didn't find onions. Wanted us to take the plate back. My son said fine put it down. The manager said she could make another one, I said sure put it in a to go container. So the third set was burnt. I'm sure this was on purpose, and of course it went in the trash when we left. Will never eat there again! I can't imagine how many codes were broken to take a plate in the back room, sift through it, and then try to give it back. Waffle House is always a great choice to grab a bite at whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner. They have a variety of different meal choices for each time of day or you can have your breakfast late at night! As soon as you walk in you are greeted with a friendly hello and asked to sit wherever you would like. I immediately notice the old 70's, 80's style look to the kitchen and the uniforms the staff are wearing to make the place feel like grandmother's kitchen ( in a good way). I usually order the same thing every time I visit Waffle House which is their Grand Slam deal. This deal offers eggs, hash browns, toast, a side of either bacon or ham, and a waffle. They cook your food fairly quickly (about 10 min) and it comes out nice and fresh. The presentation of the food is what you would expect with a basic eggs and hash brown meal. Their hash browns are one of my favorite parts of the meal as they bring it to you so fresh and crispy you can feel the crunchy goodness with each bite. They scramble the eggs fairly well also with it cooked to just the right amount where its not too dry or not too wet and soggy. This visit I ordered their peanut butter covered waffle, which is a waffle with peanut butter chocolate chip type looking things all over it. Let me tell you this peanut butter waffle was absolutely amazing I will be ordering it every visit. You can just taste the peanut butter melting in your mouth with the waffle and they mix so well especially with some added maple syrup on top... mmmm! Also the prices are not too shabby as well, you definitely pay for what you get. The staff their also seem to be in a good mood and are always very friendly, welcoming and inviting. As I said earlier they also serve other meals besides breakfast an example of this would be either the various types of sandwiches they have or a burger with a side of fries. Personally I have never tried their sandwiches but I have tried the burger and although it wasn't as good as say a five guys burger for example, but it was a lot better than a Big Mac from McDonalds. The server I had this visit was very friendly and on top of things, she always made sure my coffee cup was full or I had enough water in my glass, and would always check to see if I ever needed anything else. I also really enjoyed the atmosphere at Waffle house. If you go on a Saturday morning it is always busy with people enjoying their breakfast with their families and having a good time. Not to mention Waffle House is open 24/7 which is the best part, as I myself get hungry in the middle of the night and when everything is closed WH is still open and always a great place to eat at. I have no complaints about waffle house and It will always be one of my go-to places to eat! read more
