So, on my visit to Kansas City a friend of mine suggested that we go to first watch for breakfast/brunch. And I have to say it was a pleasant experience. I ordered a simple breakfast. Scrambled eggs and a buttermilk Biscuit with some cheese grits. I didn't have a huge appetite. I will say that I definitely enjoyed my meal. Eggs were cooked perfectly and the cheese grits were definitely delicious. Not course but perfectly cooked and a great flavor. Our waiter was good at taking our orders as requested, was attentive and provided great hospitality. As far as atmosphere, it was a very nice venue, clean. It was not noisy at all which I didn't mind. Altogether it was a great experience. So if you're looking for some good breakfast, you should definitely check "First Watch". You won't be disappointed.. We had never tried out this particular first watch so we decided to check it out this weekend. It was a good size restaurant, and we were immediately greeted and given a booth. The booth actually had an opening where there was a severe draft, and we asked to be moved, and they gladly moved our seating. I work from home and dont Drive often. So, sometimes I'll place a large order from First Watch bc if you place an order over $50 directly from the website you don't have to pay a delivery fwe. So, I placed the order but some time after realized I didnt select the delivery option so I called and explained what happened. They guys said he would cancel the order and the. I could reorder online. Cool. Decided since it was Getting laye to just wait and order lunch from somewhere else. But, I never got a refund for the $67 (plus tax) worth of food i had ordered from FW. I thought it just had to process, but a week later still nothing. So, I called and spoke with the manager, Jennifer, and explained what happened. She immediately started acting skeptical wondering why I would place such a large order. She didnt believe me!! She didn't want t give me a refund asking how did she know I'm telling the truth bc no note was left for her. So, she wanted to keep my money bc her employee didn't do his job!! When I asked if she was seriously accusing me of trying to scam her out of $67 she said no but then talk how strange it was to order so much food (I usually place large orders and eat the food over the next few days To avoid addl fees). At this point im pretty pissed bc she's threatening to not refund my money! Finally she says she'll do it "on good faith" that I'm being honest. Wtf?! I just said, "thank you for your time today" and the heifer just hung up on me: no you're welcome, no goodbye, just CLICK- yes, she placed the receiver down firmly! I always enjoy coming to a first watch. I'm currently driving cross country and needed a GOOD breakfast. Stopped in here before heading out and was not disappointed. I was torn between the steak and egg hash or the trifecta. Caroline recommend the hash because it was seasonal and one of her favorites. So happy I went with it. It was so flavorful and filling. Caroline was amazing. Such a great personality. When she sat me she offered to bring me coffee which was perfect while I looked over the menu. Had a great visit to First Watch, which was just a short drive from my hotel, the AC Hotel in Westport KCMO. I ordered the Kale Tonic and the Farmstand Breakfast Tacos, and she had the new SoCal Hash along with a Kale Tonic too. Everything came out fast and tasted fresh. Westport is a very busy area. And parking is always not so great. I was very happy to see this location located in a plaza with huge parking. Food - Delicious as always! I always have a good meal whenever I am here. Today, I decided go with Parma Hash, and it was very tasty, I asked for sunny side eggs, and they cooked it to perfection. Service - Maybe they were super busy. But service was definitely lacking today. We were asked to move to another table after we got done ordering because they needed our table for a big party. Totally fine. They comped us a free dessert. However, I guess the staff didn't communicate with each other, because our waitress asked who is responsible for the desert. I ordered the kids' combo of blueberry pancakes with a side of protein. The pancake was not fully cooked, with raw batter getting all over my palate, and my side of protein was completely missing because it was forgotten. As a frequent customer who regularly picks up food from this location, I was extremely disappointed. This will be the last time I visit First Watch. It's very frustrating that sit-down restaurants are charging an arm and a leg, yet can't follow a basic recipe or ensure orders are complete. He waddled off to find him- I was drawn to your place two years ago due the positive experience I always had with the location on 83rd and Mission going back 20 years and the fact that you served watermelon juice. No juice because it is "not seasonal" (huh?) even though it is sold at many places even in November-Check it out for yourself- So my wife had one egg, bacon, toast--I had toast with butter (I asked for real butter not whipped--NADA)--we both had coffee--they brought a chrome pot with enough for three cups of coffee (Not Endless) 5.00 a cup---never asked if we had enough--oh and the water issue: I always ask for ice water. They always bring me a glass of ice and a glass bottle of water-kind of "DO IT YOURSELF ICE WATER"--- This location is perfect for your business. And thats about it. Great location and maybe that will be the saving grace---but I doubt it. I ordered a chocolate chip pancake kids meal with one of their specialty drinks. The drink was amazing. It had pineapple juice, orange juice and coconut water in it. Very refreshing. The pancake was horrible. I usually go to the first watch in fairway and their pancakes are always fluffy, buttery and delicious. The Westport location needs to take notes because the pancake I got today was hard, dry and not good. I will continue to go to the Fairway location. My friends and I visited the Westport First Watch on Saturday, August 23rd at 8:00 am. We were a group of 6 and the restaurant did not appear to be overly crowded. We are all fans of First Watch and have dined at other locations but this was our first time eating at the Westport location. We were seated quickly and we saw several servers in our section. We waited approximately 5 minutes and no server came to our table to offer coffee and water. One of my friends had to leave the table, track down a server, and ask for coffee. Coffee was finally brought to our table but the coffee in the carafe was not hot and we had to ask for a new pot. A server took our order and the food was delivered to the table without any problems. However, my wife's egg sandwich was also lukewarm when the meal was brought to us. All in all, a disappointing breakfast at First Watch. read more

I haven't been in a First Watch in about 20 years and the last time i was in this space it was seeing a concert at the Record Bar in a previous lifetime. i was a bit shocked to see it decorated in a mid-western agricultural motif, a farmhouse vibe that i had not encountered in NKC a long time ago. No issues, in fact it seemed to give the joint a bit of Breakfast authenticity, even though the menu contained just as much kale as it did gravy. Our Gingerbread Spiced Donut were the perfect starter to a XMas eve brunch! The light cinnamon coated holes were accompanied by the most amazing caramel dipping sauce ever! My B and G was very good and my wife said her pancakes were the fluffiest ever. I have been going here since 2015 and I have got to say, it's still one of my favorite spots! I love the food here. It is so fresh! They have a great selection of breakfast items, as well as fun lattes and amazing juices. You are always greeted with a smile and the service is on point. Our server was pleasant and attentive and did her check back after our order was delivered. When asked, I responded she was very receptive, asking how she might accommodate and offered to inform the manager as well. Mandy, the manager, was prompt in responding and spoke with us regarding my concerns. I've been to this location several times and they even hosted a yelp event years ago. I guess I say that because they take their reviews seriously and that's important to me. The wait staff is typically upbeat and fun even on a busy morning. When I go I usually get the skillet but I've been known to get the oatmeal or pancakes too. All of it is really good. read more

12/8/19 I had a brunch meeting with clients/friends. The wait was not bad this day as we used the waitlist in yelp, otherwise, it would have been 45 min vs 0 min. I ordered the Carnitas Breakfast Burato ( Packed with flavor and very generous portions of Carnitas) & Cinnamon Chip Pancake ( strong on the cinnamon, but delicious) no need for lots of syrup. My wife ordered steak and potatoes ( steak on the side (for me) She did not care for the meal, it was missing something. The table ordered the doughnuts, (which were just ok) it came with 3 sauces.
