I love a Waffle House but can only get it in the south so it's a must stop when traveling. They have changed things up with their orange juice its now Tropicana in a bottle which Im not the biggest fan of. I always get the same thing Pecan waffle and hash browns covered and smothered. The waffle was decent wasn't as cooked as it usually is and I dislike when they dump the pecans in just the center. It doesn't spread out so the waffle to pecan ratio is off. Hashbrowns were good cooked well. My friend ordered biscuits and gravy. The biscuits are English muffins and the gravy was cold. We sent it back and when it came back we know they just popped in in the microwave it was steaming. The English muffins were burnt but what can you do. They also had the chocolate chip pancake and that was good. The service was decent. When we first came in a lady showed us where to sit and got our drinks and said our server would be there shortly. When our server came she asked for our order but there were no menus on the table, we weren't given any but thankfully we knew what we wanted. Wow!!!! We went for breakfast on a Sunday morning and our service was Excellent and our food was surprisingly Amazing!!! Clean and bright. The most amazing thing about this location is The Staff!! The managers were friendly, on the ball greeting new arrivals, checking on our table during our visit, and keeping everything running perfectly! We were already impressed but as we were leaving saw one of the employees assisting a customer with his handicapped son from their car to the table with a smile! Up at 5:30 on a Sunday morning. So what to do when the fridge is bare of breakfast elements and you're that hungry? Give this location another try. Don't like Waffle House' gun carry policies, but the food is good and they're open 24/7. They're open 24 hours a day. Well, at this location that must not mean 24 hours in a row! Four idiots standing in there doing nothing and the doors locked. At 6am. No attempt to come to the door to explain. Just smiled and laughed and did their own thing. Which was? Earning a paycheck to do nothing. This location has to have hired the most pathetic excuses for employees. We drove over to the one on Canada Rd in hopes that they didn't do the same thing. Maybe we just got lucky Christmas morning, 2022, but I don't think so...there were 4 huge to go orders ahead of us and whoever was running the show was on point! I hate to give it 1 star. My food was soo good. My rating only applies to the waitress. Shorter, with redish/ black hair. For two all stars and 2 chocolate milks, was $36! I could have sworn there was a point where I thought that I had identified this particular Waffle House as probably one of the best in the city. The staff at his location was very friendly and there wasn't a long wait for food to be served. My husband ordered hash browns "smothered" with onions and added cheese. When they brought the plate out, he noticed that there was no cheese and made the server aware. They had the nerve to fix the issue by throwing a slab of cheese on top. (See pic) We couldn't believe our eyes! I'm not sure if this is how it's always done or if the cook was frustrated about food coming back. Couldn't even tell you about the food. My wife, step son and I went in to eat a Mother's Day breakfast. We sat at our wet table for 15 minutes with no menus, no drinks and no attention. The girl at the waffle makers had weave down past her ass and every time she turned her body, her weave dragged through the waffle batter. DISGUSTING!!!! The lady that appeared to be the manager stopped by the table and said "hi", while cleaning a iron skillet with a paper towel. She still never asked if we needed menus or drinks or anything. Pale tasteless sliced Tomatoes were possibly the worst I've ever attempted to eat. That's what I reaped for passing up the choice of Hash Browns or Grits & trying to eat a Fresh Veggie. They brought out a chocolate chip waffle and my boyfriend mentioned to the waitress that that's not what i ordered so she threw it away and said she'd bring me another one, to which she never did. We left another Waffle House because the long wait time and get here. We see the place is empty and get out of the vehicle, one employee sees us and meets us at the door with a story about the cook isn't feeling well and that we should come back after shift change. Apparently shift change is 9 pm and we got there at 8:45 pm. Is it store policy that the employees have to complete orders during their shift? We would have been fine with looking at the menu for a bit and possibly ordering food knowing the next shift would be the ones that complete the meal. Come on Waffle House, do better! read more

This is the worst waffle house in the Memphis metro area; it needs to be closed down. They do not make standard waffles. They don't use cups for grits; they said they stopped years ago, but the others do. This Hwy 64 WH waffles taste is different; they are thin, pull apart, & are hollow. They come crumbled & smooshed with multiple pick marks. I couldn't believe how much black char from the waffle iron was present on the waffles. They remade the waffle 3 times & it still came out terrible. It looks like they use wheat in there batter; idk, but it is terrible & needs to be shutdown. I asked for a refund & no one knew how to perform one & I was told to come back in the morning. The waffle house in Memphis near Ikea Waffles is near perfection; they should be the training hub. HWY 64 waffle house has the lowest ratings in the area & I can see why. I don't know if it's the batter or the irons but this is the worst waffle house I've been to. I have been there twice. I placed a call in on Saturday, March 4, 2017. I had not eaten at Waffle House in at least 12 years. But since it was so convenient, I thought I would give it a try. There were at least 12 people at work. I called my order in at 12:27 pm. I only ordered 1 waffle, scrambled eggs with cheese along with smothered, diced and peppered hash browns. I live approximately 5 miles away. I waited 5 minutes before leaving to pick up order. Once I entered, I expected to sit a few minutes. Several people came to dine in. They placed their order and received their food. At that point I asked the cashier how long my order would be. She stated, "you been in here a long time. Let me check." She came back apologizing and said she would give the cooks my order. Well another 7 minutes passed. One of the workers stopped to ask why I hadn't got my food Hell I wanted to know the same thing. Bottom line my meal should have been free for the HUGE inconvenience. But it was not even discounted. The hash browns were delicious. The Waffle was soft like a pancake and the eggs were runny! On top of all that, with 12-14 people working, the floor should not have been that fifthly!! Such a horrible experience. I won't EVER set foot in that Waffle House again. We just had breakfast there and we were attended by Jessica who gave us an excellent service, the food was great and everyone is always aware if you need anything. We asked Miss Alana if she could warm up one of the waffles because it was a bit cold and she insisted on making another one, we didn't wait long for the new one to come out and it was delicious as the rest of our food. Normally the food here is good. Today I made a call in order and the food was terrible! I ordered grilled chicken and egg whites fried hard. My husband ordered a patty melt. They gave me chicken that wasn't cooked thoroughly and scrambled eggs and hash browns that were not cooked not even a slight crisp. They gave my husband a cheeseburger! 1 star is pushing it. First I just wanna say I'm a server and have been for 3 years. I don't normally get bad service from Waffle House at all. It's one of my favorite places! We wanted to try this one because the one we normally go to is further away. Anyways, we walk in and Ashlynn was our server. No hello,how are you, nothing. It's an eye roll and what do you want to drink. She brings the drinks and immediately wants our order. I told her we weren't quit ready and so she just stands there and waits and huffs,moving side to side and asked again not even 1 minute later. So I just order the first thing I saw. She told me not to order the biscuits and gravy because they were disgusting. So I didn't. After we order they only brought 3 items out of our entire order. I finally asked after waiting a respectable amount time,where's the rest of our food? She makes a scene with the cook about how it's his fault. They go back and forth and then finally serve me my under cooked,cold eggs. If this wasn't pissing me off enough,every time a costumer would walk in she'd say either "Ugh I can't do this sh**" or "These people need to go on somewhere". With the costumers clearly hearing her! She never came and checked on us. She never gave a refill,and she decided to smoke in front of the huge glass window by our table. My boyfriend smokes so I'm not upset about that but if you don't smoke or don't like it,you're not gonna wanna see it. Needless to say we will not be returning to see Ashlynn.
