Overall, I enjoyed this revamp of the blue room. I originally went years ago before the pandemic when it first opened. Since then, they have made significant enhancements. I definitely enjoyed the convenience of it being in the Cordova area as well as the ambiance. The art and music were definitely a plus. I had the pasta, which was fine. It was nothing to write home about; however, it seemed that the night I went, they were understaffed. The bar area was particularly quite slow. However, the servers and the bartenders were all nice and doing the best that they could. I will be back to try it again. This restaurant is connected to the University of Memphis culinary school. I believe they use it to train their students and test out new ideas. The waiter we had was being trained and that made the experience better. We got the attention of two waiters. This place was not busy at all. I think there were only 4 parties there. This place deserves a lot more business. For drinks, I ordered the Peach Martini and Long Island. The Peach Martini was a little too sweet for my taste and I couldn't taste the alcohol. The long island was good. I ordered the Creamy Cajun Pasta. It is not as big as it looks in the pictures but it packs a ton of flavor. They seared the sausage on both sides and thinly sliced it. Everything about the dish was perfection. The apple cobbler was also very good. Be patient with this place because they will be out of certain menu items but the food you get will be wonderful. read more

Went last Saturday to check out this newish restaurant. We will sending off a friend as she was moving to California. The place was hopping with a private party in the next room and the music was bumping and loud. It was hard to talk to friends at the table. The food was pretty good, but it took a long time to come out since the party was going and we had a large party of seven. We ordered different appetizers which were very good. I had the southern fried chicken with roasted Brussel sprouts and mac & cheese for my entree. My friends are generous as we shared our foods. The food was rich but quite tasty. Other foods we tried were collard greens, kale salad with shrimp, ribs, truffle fries, steak and lobster, and the cajun pasta. Our server was very nice and attentive. She came to fill up our water glasses frequently. She apologized because it was taking a long tome for our food to arrive. The chef came out later to check on us as well. Prices are higher end and you need to dress business casual when you eat there. There is plenty of parking in the lot. The restaurant is nicely decorated with hints of blue and there is a large tiger sculpture out in the foyer. It is a great place for a party. I may return but the food is very very rich. read more

Enjoyed a great night of live music and good food. The customer service here was great and the food was unique and tasty. Several nights of the week they have live music. Now if you are looking for a cheap date this is not the place. The price points are on the higher side, but for me it won't stop me from coming back. The portions are pretty good sizes as well. This is a copy of a letter that I sent them via email. They never responded. This is sad considering this is a training institution for future restaurant employees and owners: Good Evening, It is 8:06 pm on Saturday October 5th. My family and I have been sitting here since 7:00. Pm. We do not have one crumb in front of us. There are only 3 occupied tables. Among the menu items that you do not have is asparagus, greens, chicken, shrimp, macaroni, oxtail ravioli, sweet tea, lemonade, and a few items that I have forgotten. It is safe to say that you don't have 50% of the items on the menu. This is easily one of the worst dining experiences that I have had in a very long time. I really had high hopes for this place. I usually would be compelled to post on like Google or Yelp, however, for some reason I think that maybe this is a wrinkle in the universe. The music is good. Fix this please... 8:22pm...ribs and salad are on the table. My family love the ribs . But I was just informed that there are no mashed potatoes. They did offer a discount. I appreciate that. Unfortunately I did not get pictures which in an of itself is a reason to go back. I had the vegan eggrolls as well as the cajun wings which were deliciously seasoned. I sat at the bar and the eggrolls are listed as a part of the ' bar menu.' Not sure if that imposes any limitations. I'm actually going to try brunch first before the lunch/ dinner options. They're menu is pretty broad and they seem to be able to accommodate vegetarian and pescatarian options as well. read more

I loved the blue room and consider myself a regular. I am so bummed about this place now and all the changes. The menu now looks like any other place, Memphis didn't need more bars, I craved the adult, grown and sexy, intimate atmosphere. the bar is missing a lot of stuff. I couldn't get my peach basil because Rick the old bartender is not there anymore. The bartender now was a lil socially awkward. I went for the ambiance and vibe. I visited the Blue Room with a few friends yesterday evening 7pm reservation. Simple open space room with tables. Walking in there were about 4 large beautiful paintings on the wall to the left. We were seated & left for about 40+ minutes before the waitress came over to place our order. She was very nice throughout our visit. But it took so long just to get someone to put our orders in and took and hour to get our appetizers and another 30 for our entrees although we placed our orders at the same time. It was 4 of us and only 2 other tables with customers that a totaled of 8 maybe 9 in the entire establishment. It took an hour for an appetizer of a 2 seafood bisque & 2 orders of party wings (8) that were $18 per order & the bisque bowl was $11. The bisque was delicious and my friends enjoyed their wings. Only 2 of us ordered an entree. I order the $27 catfish plate that only comes with a side of greens and a small dry corn muffin. The other entree was a thin ribeye steak that came on a bed of mash potatoes for $45 & any other sides were sold separately for $8 a side. She said her steak was good. My catfish came almost whole bone in with the head chopped off. The catfish was small & didn't have much flesh. At this point it was an hour & a half. I don't like to complain and love supporting BOBs but this wasn't an luxurious experience. There was no band and no bartender so no alcoholic beverages. There wasn't a nonalcoholic drink menu either so we had to drink nasty tap water. They did have a tv on the wall that played some music. So I ask to speak to the manager about my fish order. He offered a side??? A side? So as asked could I get an order of the wings he agreed. It took a long while as I was still hungry. I just asked for to make it to go. They only gave me (6) wings. Myself and one ordered the delicious lemon pound cake bread pudding. I got mines to go and she didn't. Hers was hot full of cream also given an extra side of cream. Mine came out cold and dry like with no cream on it yet a small side of cream. We waited a while for my dessert to come out cold ugh. So I paid for the catfish plate, bisque, and dessert $55 & left still a little hungry with my 6 wings. The manager/ owner comped the wings. They were ok. Idk maybe bc they're a new business of the wait time. They should really add another piece of fish if the fish is going to be so small and meatless just a suggestion. I won't patronize this establishment again or for a long time until they get better established. I don't mine paying for food but it should be better sized portions and two sides that come with the overpriced meals. But the waitress was nice. There was no gratuity added so I left her $5 regardless of my poor experience totaling $60. 2 Others didn't tip. They might also need to add gratuity since service is slow and portions are small. read more

A great hidden gem located inside a culinary institute. A wonderful ambiance and the best service I've ever had. A very good menu with plenty of options and guaranteed something you'll find you like. Terrible food- mediocre service at best. went twice .only because i bought the 50 for 25 certificates. the restaurant itself smells like sour milk or sulfur, like sewage upon entering the facility. I ordered the catfish first time it was ok; and second time grits and shrimps, along with chicken wings for appetizers. i got to the restaurant close to 6pm on a Tuesday night. i was one step f two people. it took close to half hour to get my food. i wasn't able to eat the grits: it tasted like it was a left over that was reheated, looked like mashed potatoes,it was cold and tasteless, had this very runny yellow and watery sauce that had no taste at all. definitely was not cheesy. the description says : 3 cheeses; the waitress didn't know what the cheeses are. the shrimp tasted rubbery- While the chicken wings were ok; they gave you 8 piece with literally 20 fries- yes- i counted them. everything was overpriced- i will not be going back! glad i purchased the certificate for half price. read more
