I have done several Waffle House reviews. Waffle Houses are a beacon calling me when I am driving down the interstates of America. It stimulates my primal redneck craving for cheap, simple food served up seven days a week, 24 hours a day. I really miss their pecan waffles since going low carb. It is just not fair. This specific Waffle House is fairly new, very nice inside, and clean. It is very convenient to I40, Mocksville's Yadkinville Road exit. My waitress was extremely friendly. The food was cooked well and delicious. The restrooms were clean and dump worthy, meaning I would have no problem putting my bare buns on the porcelain. When I went, there were not a lot of folks in the restaurant. It was off peak hours. As I was enjoying my eggs and country ham, I was reminded where I was when the guy two stools down let out a loud burp. I know we are in a Waffle House but come on man.

This restaurant is very family oriented, the food is great and the prices are very affordable. I definitely recommend this place. The service here not so good I mean it is the Fourth of July and maybe that's the reason why the service is lagging.

Fast American fresh food made to order. The place was clean and the server came several times to refill our drinks.

Great breakfast and service. Was seated and order was taking within 5 minutes. If I'm the area again I'll stop by for sure.

I was very hungry and just needed some quiet time to relax. This place gave me everything I needed. It's huge, clean, well lit, and comfy. The ladies up front were sweet and my waitress was a doll. There when I needed, but not hovering. Even the bathrooms were spotless. It's definitely a breakfast restaurant, although they do have burgers and other sandwiches on the menu. But when it comes to breakfast, they had everything you could possibly think of on the menu. I ended up choosing Big K's Combo and for the price of $11.99 I thought it would be a normal size meal. I was so surprised when an incredible amount of food for the money came out. Everything was delicious. Ordering grits is a bit of a gamble lately but these were the best grits I've had from a restaurant in years. The scrambled eggs were moist and tender, the bacon was crisp, hashbrowns very tasty, and the pancakes were perfect, with those special crispy edges that I just love. This is a fantastic place to go and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants an excellent breakfast.

The hostess and cashier both had no personality, but our server was wonderful and attentive. We were seated 4 adults and a toddler in a booth and it was rather uncomfortable, but we made the best of it. Our food was pretty tasty, but nothing anymore amazing than any other breakfast joint. It really did resemble Breakfastime as far as the food, decor, and even the pricing. I paid for my plate and my toddler and it was nearly $30. Which is insane for breakfast for one adult and one toddler. I enjoyed this visit and the food was good, but I won't be rushing back over there anytime soon.

Ample southern-style breakfast choices, affordable prices, large portions, and friendly employees. Our waitress, I did not catch her name, was amazing. She was always there when you needed something and kept our beverage cups filled. We were in a hurry and able to order quickly. They do offer takeout, but we decided on dine in. The right door is for takeout and the left is for dine in, but no worries if you go in the wrong door. We went in the takeout door and then changed our mind. Nevertheless we were greeted upon arrival and informed that we could choose our table. There were a few other parties there and several open tables. We ordered quickly and received our drinks right away. Our meal did take longer than we thought it would. It was piping hot, salty, and delicious. I chose the corned beef hash. Both our entrees were supposed to come with hash browns. We received cubed potatoes instead, but were not disappointed. We both like those potatoes better than hash browns. It was busy…read moreon a Sunday morning, we waited a good 30-40 minutes, but it was well worth the wait and once we were sat the food came out impressively fast! My friend ordered the breakfast burrito, it was huge! For a side she had the sweet potato tots. She let me steal a bite of both and yum! I opted for the Hot Honey Chicken with Pimento Benedict and wow! I was nervous the pimento cheese would be overpowering, but it wasn't at all! It was a nice, creamy complement to the spicy crispy chicken. The hollandaise cut through some of the richness for a pleasant mellower. Prices are reasonable and our waitress was great! The restaurant is larger than it looks but it does get quite crowded. Can't wait to come back here!

This is a solid restaurant with much to offer in the brunch/breakfast area - an area that has become popular and chic, and it almost always means much will be expensive, usual very expensive considering the less than costly menu ingredients that drive food choices here, and other such brunch spots. Brunch is seen as more than just a meal for some folks who are all into what is trendy, and restaurant are aware of this and prices are raised due to the "experience" element! I have tried several items here including their version of Huevos Rancheros (not a fan of how they make it, pulled pork is a party foul), the Eggs Benedict (decent but over priced for sure, $17 with bacon added), and several Omelette choices, can reach $15. This is obviously a popular spot in downtown Winston, but I find it generally overpriced, loud, and the service is inconsistent. I like a good adventure, but somethings simply are not worth the cost! Note that the prices for individual items are written, very lightly with no $ sign to the right of the item. This is done intentionally to make the customer pay less attention to what they spending. Many restaurants are using some form of this approach!

The Deets: I got the opportunity to try out Eggies off of Robinhood Road in Winston-Salem as it was the choice of some of my friends to catch a quick Saturday breakfast. Located within The Village of Robinhood shopping area, it was easy to access with plenty of parking within the shopping center. The restaurant is small but quaint, as we entered we got to snag the last open table at that time fairly quickly. Their menu is full of breakfast/brunchy/sandwich/burgers like offerings with plenty of offerings. I went to the "Build Your Own Combos" section of the menu, I'm all about choices. Here, you can choose 2 meats, 1 breakfast side, one bread/carb with eggs any style for $11.50 at the time of this writing. I went with 2 pieces of grilled pork tenderloin, sausage gravy side paired with one of their biscuits (planning on biscuit & gravy, yum!) with some scrambled eggs. Breakfast came out within an acceptable wait for a full house, no longer than anticipated wait. My selections looked great, with the portions being adequate but not overgenerous. Of note, the biscuit was big, fluffy, and exactly what you would expect from a Southern style biscuit. The biscuit combined with their sausage gravy was enjoyable with the scrambled eggs and tenderloin (I am glad I ordered two of them instead of two separate meat selections). With their satisfying coffee, I enjoyed this breakfast stop before the start of a busy day. I come to the best part of my visit to Eggies, the service. Our server was excellent...pleasant, helpful, refills right at the time needed, and so attentive with positivity. I wish I could give 5+ stars for her service, definitely made this visit enjoyable. I really wish Yelp had half stars in many situations and this time is one of them. With 4 stars for food/menu/atmosphere and 5+ stars on service, I really feel that this visit to Eggies was a solid 4.5 star experience.
