At 8:48pm another young lady asked if I needed anything after standing there. I told her the same thing as the first. She went to the kitchen and was told no more orders. She came back and let me know. That could have been done when I first arrived. Now off to find dinner as I am disappointed in the customer service at this location. We stopped at this CB while heading home. For perhaps the second time in my life I did not get a breakfast meal. We both had the Turkey & Dressing with Sweet Potato Casserole. I also had the Green and she had Mac &Cheese. The Turkey was fair but the beans and Mac were excellent. The sweet potatoes had an odd taste. I was the only one at the seating kiosk waiting on a table, for at least 5 minutes. This store was NOT busy when I arrived. A man came in behind me and he was immediately identified as Mr. Boatright, come on in. I was left there. Not being prejudice but the server was impartial to him as I assume he was a local. I was traveling through. This upset me. When the server came to seat me she had no eye contact and I thanked her kindly when I was seated and she didn't acknowledge me. I felt alone. We stopped in for lunch while traveling on I-26 all morning. I ordered Mom's Pancakes and as always they were delicious! Love Cracker Barrel's Buttermilk Pancakes!!! The service was ok meaning she was nice and took care of us but I noticed she handed one person everyone's food and asked them to pass it down and hand it to them. This location was the worst - they took my number and stated it would be 15-20 minutes- it was not overly crowded BUT maybe it was short staffed - after waiting 30 minutes we could not wait- there was plenty of open tables, but the hostess stated that the kitchen was trying to get catch up with the current customers- it was ridiculous - we felt that we needed to find another restaurant as the waiting was not getting any better ! Our meal was a comedy of errors, but there were some good things. Based on the online reviews, this doesn't seem to be one of the better locations in the chain. I hadn't been to a Cracker Barrel in many years, and haven't been many times in my life. The service was painfully slow; this was past the peak lunch hour. We didn't have silverware when our food arrived. When we flagged down a hostess she started to tell us that it was the waitresses' responsibility until I just asked her if she could get us some, and she did so. We didn't get our biscuits till later, after someone approached our table and asked about the meal and came back with a basked of them; then, our waitress brought more over later (no communication). We didn't get the soup I'd ordered; when I asked about it she said they were out of it. Our table was soaking, and we found that the water glass had a crack in it. The chicken and dumplings ($10 and large) was rather gelatinous, so I wouldn't get it again. I got two sides with it. The hashbrown casserole was pleasant. The fried okra was better than expected, so I might get that again. We asked if they had a children's menu, and my wife got the fried chicken tenders ($6.19) off of it. She liked them, though I thought they were average. I did think the fries she got with it were really good, however (but there was no ketchup on the table). We asked if they had honey to go with the biscuits. They brought some over. They were easily the best part of the meal to me. I love hot biscuits with butter melted on them and honey poured over them (though they're messy). I'd definitely get them any time I came here, and might return for them. Of course, you probably won't have room for a dessert after eating them. My wife rather liked the decor. I've heard they're redecorating and simplifying these places (with some pushback; later: I read they canceled the redecorations), so I'm glad my wife got to see one with the original decor, and rock in the rocking chairs on the porch. You pay the cashier in the gift shop. It was cheap, at least: $20 for plenty of food for the two of us. The gift shop was more interesting than expected. The restaurant and decor were very dusty. Now, let's talk about the food. Subpar at best. The menu has shrunk considerably, along with the portions. None of the old favorites were on the menu. My wife and I travel around alot and we like Cracker Barrel since they can be found off most main routes and their food is pretty consistent wherever we stop. Came to this one since it was near my hotel for an early dinner. There was a short 10 minute wait for a table and my server was Makayla. She was very nice, friendly and checked on me often. The food, catfish dinner, came out quickly and was as good as expected. Out of the entire experience, the big negative was that the property appeared to be worn and in serious need of a major cleaning from floor to ceiling. Floor and lattice room dividers looked dirty with stains and miscellaneous debris. Not sure if this is a high traffic location contributing to the slow overall maintenance, but that would be my suggestion. read more

These are always a hit or miss. The service here it was great tonight for dinner, but I ordered a baked broccoli and cheese chicken which was served almost cold and dry. I asked them to warm it up in the microwave and whatever they call cheese just lay there like a clump. The worst experience I've ever had at a Cracker Barrel. We arrived around 3:00 p.m., and it was immediately clear the food was not freshly prepared. From the pancakes to the chicken fried chicken ( consisting of three over friend pieces instead of one), everything seemed like leftover, reheated item. Our party of 5 (3 adults, a toddler and a 6 year old) arrived around 11 am for breakfast. There was a wait for our table, but we were seated and our drinks were ordered. The waitress got the drink order wrong but returned swiftly with the correct drinks. We ordered (pancakes/sausage, pancakes/bacon, grilled cheese for the kiddos). Several other customers arrived and were seated near us, then we were asked to move. We acquiesced, because we thought it would give the foot traffic more room and accessibility. Still, we waited for our food. About 20 minutes passed and our food still had not arrived. The waitress came back and said, "It shouldn't be much longer." Ok, no problem. The people who came after us, ate and left. Another couple received their food and began eating. We inquired about our food and were told, "I don't know what the problem is." No offer to CHECK and see, NOTHING. I asked for the check for the drinks so we could leave. The waitress did nothing. I asked for the manager and explained the issue. He asked what could he do for us? My response was "ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, because we have waited for 51 minutes and received no food and were brushed off. We just wanted you aware." He proceeds to give us complimentary coupons WE WILL NEVER USE. I would recommend this place to NO ONE. The manager, though polite, seemed frazzled and the wait staff seemed incompetent. Hopefully it will save someone time, embarrassment and frustration, especially when treating out of town guests to a meal in Orangeburg. read more

We visited this location on our trip to TN. As we were escorted to our table, the first thing I noticed was the filthy floor, as we approached our table, the hostess asked us to wait in the dining room so she could clean our table. As we looked around, every empty table was not cleared and cleaned. She quickly wiped down our table, pushing the condiments around rather than picking them up and putting them where they belong and cleaning under them. The lattice between the dining rooms look like they have never been cleaned. We watched as a worker separated a table and cleared it and wiped it down and sat a customer there. There were used napkins and food under and around her table. Several workers walked past it, on them or over them and not once cared to pick it up. As we left we visited the restroom. The men's had a toilet stuck in constant flushing mode for at least an hour, counters has wet paper towels on them and garbage was over flowing. Women's had some stalls with no toilet paper, or unflushed toilets. I felt so dirty after leaving this establishment. If this is how the front half of the restaurant is, I can't even imagine what the kitchen area is like. This restaurant definitely needs better management! read more

Ordered online, it gave an error so I called and placed the order. But after I hung up, I got a confirmation email of my online order. Only to get there and they had made both orders. Then I get back to my hotel room and find the broccoli isn't cooked (I tried to upload the video but it didn't take). And the order was missing the requested utensils, tartar sauce, and jelly. Ugh. I LOVE Cracker Barrel but this one misses on so many points who's saddens me because I stay in this area often when traveling. The store is amazing as always. But the staff is an F and the food is aD+. We stood in line (10 deep) because the hostess was "not seating anyone because she has to wait for a to go order to be brought up to the front hostess desk" ....so we waited about 12 min all looking at each other perplexed. We ordered passionate got there. It took 20 min just to get a water and iced tea. Another 45 to get eggs hashbrowns and bacon. The hashbrowns were cooked with zero oil and the eggs were supposed to be over easy but they were almost over hard with zero yolk. It was just disappointing all the way around. Not normally a chain restaurant person, but sometimes you find yourself in a place with limited choices. This restaurant was within walking distance of our hotel and I wanted mashed potatoes. Very few customers here, so service was good. I got the fried chicken dinner which was 2 boneless chicken breasts and I got my mashed potatoes, so I was happy. The chicken was flavorful and juicy. My husband got the other fried chicken which was a leg, a breast, a wing and a thigh. His was way overcooked so it was dry and tasteless. Stopped in for breakfast on our trip from Charleston to Charlotte. Arrived just before noon on a Sunday. The restaurant was packed with a 45 minute estimated wait time. Our actual wait time was closer to 30 minutes. The table was clean upon being sat. Most the staff is masked (cooks, host, bussers), some (servers) are not. The mandates are more relaxed in SC, however they are practicing safe social distancing by keeping the tables 6 ft apart. Our server was very friendly and welcoming. Our biscuits, coffee and orange juice arrived to our table by 12:40, within 10 minutes of being seated. The orange juice was pulpy. The biscuits were amazing! Perfect amount of fluffy. Unfortunately, our server did not visit our table enough; We had to flag her down in order to refill our coffee. We waited FOREVER for our food to get to the table, which didn't arrive until 1:20; 50 minutes after being sat. The gravy made it to the table, but she forgot the biscuits. No big deal, she brought them immediately after we flagged her down. Biscuits and gravy was the only good thing on my plate. Scrambled eggs were edible. Fried apples were terrible. Bacon tasted like it was an afterthought. As far as price goes, the food was inexpensive and very affordable. Overall, we spent 2 hours at this restaurant, from entry to exit, and the food was not at all worth the wait. The only reason I gave it 2 stars was the affordable pricing and the friendly staff. As I approached the building, I had trepidation of actually entering the building, because the front door glass was covered in fingerprints. The doorhandles were dirty, and as I walked to the hostess stand, my feet were sticking to the floor because it was so dirty. We were sat at a table that was just wiped down and was still wet. The server was pleasant and attentive, but the food left much to be desired. It appeared that the bacon and sausage patties we're not only over cooked but we're possibly cooked a day prior. My scrambled eggs Also appear to be cooked and just chopped and put on my plate. The restrooms were dirty, and smelled like urine. There were no paper towels to dry my hands. I should've gone with my first instinct when I noticed walking in how dirty everything was. My concern now is not becoming ill from improper sanitation that may be in the kitchen. read more

The food at this Cracker Barrel is not good at all. We had country fried steak and eggs and the grits that came with it were just horrible. My husband ordered a broccoli casserole that was tiny and not worth the money. The fried pickles, however, were good. Server Pat had only been working here a couple of days but he was extremely pleasant and likable. The line to pay was excessively long; absurd really, and it took almost as long to get out of the restaurant as it did to eat a meal. My opinion...Cracker Barrel is really going downhill. The bathrooms in this place were disgusting...dirty, old and in deplorable repair. The toilets are so old that the majority of old people who are a major portion of their customer base, can't get on and off the toilet. They desperately need to be replaced. This place is in need of renovation and better check out routines. There's so much stuff in the store you can barely get in and out of it. All together unpleasant experience. I'm definitely crossing this Cracker Barrel off my list and if I continue to see the same poor quality of food and bathroom maintenance, I'm going to pass them all up for good. I noticed all the servers were doing their dead level best; it's the management of this company that needs attention.
