I went to this Waffle House this Friday morning. I ordered to go which adds an extra $5 to the order. I ordered two All Star breakfasts. When I get home there is no meat in either order. I tried to call to work something out but all I got was a recording. So I have to drive 20 minutes back to the restaurant. The food was obviously cold by now and they offered me no decent alternative but to get my money back. The manager would not even come out of their hiding place to address my complaint. We don't have any in San Antonio (yet), but whenever I run into one, I head in for a anytime breakfast. As soon as I sat down my drink order was taken. The coffee was both fresh, hot, and bottomless. I ordered the Texan Bacon Melt plate. You can switch out the bacon for sausage or ham - but why would anybody do that? The plate comes with hash, but I added on everything they could throw into it (onions, tomatoes, mushroom tops, chili, etc) - they call it all the way. It was quite a meal for 9 p.m., I only had enough room for two cups of coffee. This place is cleaned regularly, and has it's own parking lot. So we do not have Waffle Houses in the majority of the crunchy. Thus, every time I am in the vicinity of one, I make it a point to stop. This particular one is located directly across from the Lee's. Fairly small parking lot, but it was pretty empty on a Thursday afternoon. Therefore, parking was abundant. There had to be maybe three workers total and two other diners. I was a little unsure where to go (awkwardly standing like a crazy person) but I was told to sit anywhere. Look, the interior is super dingy, the floor sticks when you walk, and there is a random juke box. This could've lead to food poisoning or one of the best dining experiences ever. Well considering the location, this was the latter. I ordered a pecan waffle and the sausage, egg, hash brown, and cheese bowl. Super amazing. Not bad at all. Would I come here again? It's your typical Waffle House. Sticky menus and friendly service. The food is nothing out of this world, but it's always good! And usually pretty quick! Perfect place for nursing a hangover! The prices seem to fluctuate even though we usually order the same exact thing. The variance isn't huge though, so we've never bothered asking. On our first visit, the kitchen didn't seem to be very well managed. It was a busy day, so I'm sure that was the cause. We asked for extra toast 3 times, and it never came. Continually dirty, poor service, cold food and hit or miss on order accuracy shows that either management doesn't care or is poorly run. This location is probably the worst I have ever been in. These conditions are not at any set hour, so one cannot say it's the bar crowd or it's packed out and tough to keep up. The staff seem to act like they just don't care.
