Grabbing something for dinner and thank goodness Slims Chicken was still open. We did drive thru and ordered the 5 piece tenders meals it comes with fries, toast and a drink and I got an order of fried pickles. We didn't wait too long for our food and it was still hot when we got home. The service was excellent the staff were very friendly. The food was okay, the fries tasted old & were cold, the fried pickles were very fresh but super salty that even their delicious ranch couldn't save them.

The Mac and cheese was good, the sweet tea was fantastic. I didn't like the slim sauce at all but the BBQ was yummy! There was a bit of a line but it went at a good speed. They have outside dining which looks so cozy!!!! I'll do that when I come back.

The lady who took our order was extremely nice and helpful. The chicken strips were good. More like Zaxbys but black pepper forward. Fries were basic. I did not care for the wings. They were very small and over cooked. The fried mushrooms were delicious! I also loved all the sauce choices.

Not half bad! The anticipation for this opening was killing me, and seemingly everyone else in Etown because I came four days after opening for a late lunch and it was still very busy. I picked up some lunch to-go for my husband and me. For the both of us I ordered the hungry tender meal with mac and cheese (instead of fries), the cayenne ranch chicken sandwich that I got as a reward for downloading the app, and the pecan pie in a jar dessert. I love fried chicken a lot, and have very high standards. Was it the best fried chicken that I've ever had? No. But is it the best anywhere near Etown? By far. I especially liked the sandwich and the pecan pie dessert. The atmosphere is very lively, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Welcome to Etown, Slim Chickens!

Tried this place out never had it before. It was a nice place to have lunch in. I got the chicken tenders and fry's and they were really worth it. hot and fast.

Burned "Texas" toast (that's not Texas toast, just wonder bread). The soda I got was also flavorless. My husbands food wasn't much better

The "Texas toast" is just burned wonder bread. Texas toast is thick cut, this is not that. We paid $24 for two meals and the fries was the only decent thing. The soda, root beer, that I ordered had no flavor. Way overpriced for what you get.

This place is such a hidden gem. Tucked away off the beaten path, it has that cozy, "you almost…read moredon't want to tell anyone about it" kind of charm. The space is definitely on the smaller side, which adds to the intimate feel, but I can only imagine it gets pretty tight during peak hours--especially since they don't take reservations. That said, everything else more than makes up for it. The service was genuinely excellent--attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. And the food? Absolutely worth it. Every dish we tried was packed with flavor and clearly made with care. If you're thinking about going, I'd definitely recommend timing your visit to avoid the rush. It's a small spot, but one that delivers a big experience.

The menu is extensive so it took a minute for us to order. Everyone had water to drink. Our server brought us some fresh yeast rolls that were hot and tasty. We had the fried green tomatoes appetizer for the table. They were excellent served with sour cream and horseradish and ranch that we had to ask for additionally. Everyone ordered something different. Orders included: 1. Fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy, and cole slaw. I only tried their cole slaw which leans more to a vinegar base and I prefer a sweeter slaw. There were 4 pieces of chicken. 2. Meatloaf with mashed potato and gravy and cornbread. Cornbread was a bit dry, meatloaf was ok. 3. Mushroom and bacon smothered chicken, onion rings and cornbread. Person said the chicken was a bit dry, the mushrooms and bacon saved the dish. Onion rings were good, crispy and hot. 4. Chicken and dumplings with cornbread. Folks that tasted them said they make better at home, nothing special. 5. Rueben sandwich with corn pudding. Sandwich was just ok. Bread was too thick for my taste, beef was tender. Corn pudding was excellent, hot, creamy. Service was good, resturant quaint, street parking. The train rolling by, blowing the whistle while we ate was a nice touch, although it rattled the building. After we ate, got to go containers and paid we shopped at the adjacent and across the street shops to the resturant. That was fun. After shopping we headed back to the restaurant for coffee and dessert. Again each of us had a different dessert item which included: coconut cream pie, butterscotch pie, derby pie, chocolate sundae cake and the house specially, butter cream pie. All were pretty good. We all liked the house speciality pie, it was super sweet, creamy with a good crust. Coconut pie was a favorite as was the chocolate sundae cake. The derby pie was way too chocolatey for most of us. It is a cute little little resturant with a homey feel that will take you back in time. One of those places where you should try but then say, did that, don't necessarily need to revisit.

It was not the best food in the world but the food here tastes like home to me. Just really well seasoned and old school. Now here's my issue. This establishment had me wait almost 90 minutes on a 92 degree day (WITH MY FIVE YEAR OLD) for two meals. They had already taken my money, otherwise I would have booked it. Here's what I ate: 1. Fried Pork Chop with mashed potaotes (they were out of potato salad) and greens, gravy on the side 2. Ribs with macaroni and cheese and Pinto Beans I also got a blackberry cobbler. I checked in after 30 minutes and they weren't sympathetic. I looked at these reviews later and saw that someone said the customer service at this establishment was hilarious and they were not kidding. Here's how everything tasted: Pork Chop: very flavorful, glad I got fried and not smothered for texture reasons Mashed potatoes: good and real, but nothing to write home about Ribs: They were okay. tender. tasted like they were boiled and that's not my preference...they were also swimming in sauce. I feel like ribs should be able to stand up without the sauce and I was not sure this could happen here. The bbq sauce is part of the dish for them. Greens: overly salted, underseasoned...they needed to be eaten by the pinto beans Pinto beans: absolutely no salt--would not order again Macaroni and cheese: this is the creamy kind, not the baked kind (not my preference. Gravy: excellent Blackberry Cobbler: FIVE STARS. Delicious, buttery, so tasty. I went home and tried to make one. Seriously: no notes here. It is a must try. Charging 2 dollars for a cup of kool-aid is insane. with this kind of customer services, it would be nice if they threw that sugar water in for free. I skipped it, but just thought I would mention if you plan on trying to have some for nostalgic reasons. I haven't had any in about 30 years and I was planning on it but not when I saw the price tag. I live in Illinois, but if I ever do visit again I will call my order in, go sight seeing and then pick up my food. Don't bring your kids to this establishment unless they have confirmed your order is ready!

Four of us had an excellent experience for our dinner in Louisville, and besides the food, a lot of that experience was due to our server, Julie. She was great, super friendly and professional, and expertly answered a ton of Bourbon-related questions from my Bourbon loving friend. My wife and I dove into the Southern theme and had a Pulled Pork Sandwich ($16), Southern Colada ($16), Fried Green Tomatoes ($10), and a Southern Gumbo ($10) for dinner. I ordered the Fried Gren Tomatoes to share with the table, and they were wonderful - "Five full moon green tomatoes fried in cornmeal and panko, topped with fresh chives and served with Doc's Remoulade". They were light as a feather, most definitely non-greasy and had a great crunch from the panko and cornmeal. My Southern Gumbo (A hearty stew filled with andouille sausage, chicken and vegetables in savory Cajun broth served over rice. Served with cornbread) was excellent. Great flavor, great spice, plenty of sausage and chicken, and excellent accompaniments in the rice and cornbread. And how could I not mention my Southern Colada, with Michter's US*1 Sour Mash, Pineapple Juice & Coconut. It was quite a bit stronger than any Colada I ever had, but I guess that can be expected when you use an 86-proof small batch Kentucky whiskey in your Colada. Of course, I loved it. This was our second visit to Doc Crow. We were there a few days ago as the first stop on our Louisville food tour and enjoyed a delicious bowl of shrimp and grits. The Doc sure treated us well. PRO TIP Be sure to check out the Doc's jaw dropping collection of bourbon bottles that seem to dominate the various rooms wherever you look.

Wife ordered a mango margarita and doesn't like a lot of tequila, so Kylie went half and gave her a shot on the side in case she wanted to add more. It was wonderful. I had a couple of beers. We started with the fried mushrooms, which aren't what you would expect. It's two large portobellos cut into chunks, battered, fried, and served with sun-dried tomato mayo. They were great. I then ordered a duck taco, brisket taco, and a side of Grippo Fries with smoked mayo. I'd never tried duck but that taco was smack-a-lackin'. The brisket taco was also good, and the fries were fantastic - sweet and spicy, fresh cut, and crispy. Wife ordered a pork belly slider and truffle fries. She enjoyed the slider but didn't care for the fries - just not her thing. The portions here are large. A side of fries will feed three people. We took a hefty portion of them home, as well as some of the mushrooms. We could've sat there at the bar and spent 3 hours socializing and enjoying a smattering of cocktails - love the setting. Look forward to going back and trying one of the burgers at some point.
