Had to end my trip with a Waffle House visit. They are everywhere and anywhere, so you can hit the next one if you miss the exit for one. The food is your average diner chain food. I really enjoyed the waffle. It was fluffy and buttery. Nothing beats a hot waffle in the morning. Along with the waffle, I got hashbrowns, toast, eggs and bacon all for about $15. Can't beat that deal in this economy. The staff was great too. You can see they work hard and they know the customers very well. We came in late around 11 pm. Store was full but not crazy busy. We were sat rather quickly once they cleaned the table. Waiter moved slowly but was nice. We placed our order. He took a while getting our waters and then took a Togo orders/ delt with paying customers before giving our order to the cook. Two of the four waters he brought us had stuff floating in them. My daughter was given a cold grilled cheese, just two pieces of cheese slapped between bread. Onions were missing from my husbands chicken hash brown bowl. Which the server offered to bring but was never brought. Cheese and onions were missing on my hash browns. Bacon never showed up for my sons meal. And we never received my daughters chocolate chip waffle to go with her cold grilled cheese. When our server went to ask the cook (who was cooking closest to our table) about our food, the cook, who is also the manager for the night ..Justin, started cussing at our server. The server apologized for the order being wrong and for my kids not getting their food. The manager clearly has trouble multitasking. I honestly thought he was learning because of the way he was handling the plates and how he was splashing the oil out of the bucket to make the hashbrowns. The other cook, I think his name was Glynn maybe, was handling the oil a lot better and did better at cooking and keeping things going. They ended up bringing a hot grilled cheese sandwich. I watched our server grab some Bacon himself out of the fridge and cook our bacon. We got up to leave and he brought us the bacon Togo. In the end the server didn't charge us for our meal at all. I told him he didn't have to do that. We still left a tip. But I have never had that experience at a WH in my life. I would not recommend this location. At least not with that crew. read more

I got the All-Star and my eggs were full of grease and my eggs were not made how I asked them to make it and when I asked her to remake it, she didn't come to my table until I finished all my food. I've been to this Waffle House many times. This was my first Covid visit. So, between that and it being Christmas Day, they were busy! They have social distancing in place for inside tables, which made for a waitlist to sit down. (Take your phone number, text you when table is ready. Only really had a 5 minute wait.) Like I said, I have been here many times before, and you'd think now more than ever it'd be the cleanest. However, this was the most unclean it has been in my many visits. (Not to the point I wasn't going to eat tonight, but enough that I noticed) That's really my only negative for today's visit. Worst Waffle House I've ever been to! There was only one person being served. After I say down and got ignored by the entire staff! The waitress walked back and forth and refused to come to my table! When I went up to the waiter who was serving a customer to ask if they were closed or not the guy shook his head and continued to ignore me and my husband. The cook walked back and forth behind the counter ignoring me, doing nothing. The waitress walked in the back room and never came out. This is a poor excuse of a Waffle House, and there was no reason to get treated this way. I hope the staff gets there life together and realize, how they come across at work is a reflection of themselves and the business they work for. It's Waffle House you gotta have reasonable expectations- however this Waffle House had the best waffles compared to any of the other ones. They were thicker and tastier. Rest of the food was per usual. Tax included in price for smooth math. Would recommend this one over the other waffle houses. read more

This is the most disgusting Waffle House we have ever been been to in the NC area. We arrive and placed out order. It took over 40 minutes to get our food and it came out wrong for my husband twice. My good was cold with congealed grease. I took a couple of bites and knew I couldn't eat it. The table right behind us got his order wrong 4 times and finally left because he couldn't eat. The coke machine ran out so when it was time to refill our cups they filled with sweet tea without telling us the coke was out. The server told us that because they weren't able to call their orders the expeditor was sending out all orders wrong. Everything about our experience was terrible and now my husband and I are both nauseated from what little we could eat. Waffle House is Waffle House. This one is nice because it always seems clean and there is plenty of parking in a nicely maintained lot. They are friendly and make the food fast and the way you ask for it. The only complaint is they do not come around as often as I would like to ask for things or fill the coffee, but I think that is because they are just busy and could use some help. read more

The employees are very nice and there is barely a wait for your food. My boyfriend & I go there pretty often and ever since I asked for whipped cream one time, they automatically bring it to our table when we come in. The food is good. This may be one of the best waffle houses in the Salisbury area. It is very clean inside, the staff are friendly, and the food is good. I don't really eat at waffle house as much because a lot of them are.... well you know..... kind of nasty. I was with my husband who had a doctor's appointment at the Veterans Administration Hospital in town. As we both enjoy the Waffle House we made it our business to stop in for breakfast as we didn't eat before leaving Charlotte. My husband had his usual pork chops while I had the pecan waffle with sausage and hash brown (capped - mushrooms), I have to remember next time to get some cheese on those hash browns. The manager on duty as well as the rest of the staff greeted us at the door, and for those who may not be from the South, this is what I expect when coming into a Waffle House. Salisbury - Jake Alexander location. On the way to vote Saturday morning, stopped in this Waffle House location for breakfast. Very impressive for the Manager to be personally at the door, opening and greeting each customer as they enter. Very pleasant fellow, helpful and accommodating. After a short wait to be seated, our waitress service was good, food order taken and accurately presented in a very timely manner. The only food critique I can give is that my waffle was very slightly undercooked. The texture of it was more like pancakes, not the slight crispiness of a waffle I believe should have. This no doubt was caused by the cook rushing to keep his production up, as the store was very busy at the moment. Not a deal breaker, just an observation for things to improve if possible. The food is nearly always great. This time however they burnt my hashbrowns. It wasn't much of a problem and I'd still recommend them. The service is decent. It's gets the job done and they definitely have achieved a loud atmosphere. I liked the management being out front welcoming people. As for the price, it's affordable. I spent 18 dollars for two people and I thought that was a bit high but nothing absurd. this waffle house is right by my school so i normally go to it after doctors appointments or when i crave it before class. i havent been since the remodel so im not sure if its better than when i last went but waffle house is amazing no matter what in my opinion. they all normally have great service, (this one in particular) and even better food and i always feel safest at a waffle house late at night because theres normally at least one person with a gun. lol a lot of people complain about the stickiness but i think thats just part of the waffle house charm (they are cleaning them up though so if you hate how dirty they are fear no more). if youre looking for a wholesome, beautifully run down restaurant, go to a waffle house that hasnt been remodeled and im sure youll love it. read more
