We just had a new Waffle House near our home. We went this morning on Mother's Day. Of course it's new so very nice inside. Oh it was busy but the wait was not long at all. but the service was great, the cooks were great and the food omg good. This was the first time I ever had the biscuit sandwich with sausage, egg & cheese on a biscuit. I loved it it's so better than other restaurants with biscuit sandwiches. read more

Our server never checked on us even though we took 2 seats at counter, which meant no coffee refills. She wrote order down wrong because we had to swap out hashbrowns. This was our 2nd time visiting this Waffle House and both times the hashbrowns were just shy of burnt and the serving was too small to mix them up (to compensate for the over cooked portion). Finally, over medium eggs must not be allowed because they were ordered both visits and the eggs were over easy both times. read more

One of the TOP things on my son's Sumter, SC bucket list was eating at a WAFFLE HOUSE (by Hibbets) for the first time. Angela, our waitress delivered the BEST service ever. There are definitely some great cooking skills happening in that kitchen. We enjoyed the vibe and delicious food choices. Everything was cooked to perfection. The host, kitchen team and our waitress Angela all exceeded our expectations! All their kind and welcoming smiles were the cherry on top. My 1st experience at waffle house and I can definitely see what the hype is. This establish definitely is a made to order place that caters to having it your way! You can get a waffle made in several different flavors or all the flavors at once (try chocolate Blueberry pecan). This goes for hashbrowns as well (try the bacon, ham, and cheese combo). My family had a blast squeezing into the small booths and munching on the all star combos. We made sure to stop by before our flight home and I gotta say it was worth almost missing my flight for just 1 more bite of them waffles. read more

We were not acknowledged by a single employee when we entered. We had a group of four. There were no open tables to accommodate us. Sitting at the counter there was an employee on break that was eating. He had three open seats on one side of him and one on the other. Did the Waffle House employee move over a seat to make room for us at the counter? Of course he didn't. We left. The bar is set pretty low to walk out of a Waffle House. read more

There coke machine has been broken for 6 months ordered a omelette and she cooked it on the nasty grill i could not even eat it ! This place is the worse place I've ever had to work .... employees do nothing but complain, complain, complain and talk bad about one another , just to be right back in each other's faces ... no one is really there to work for their money , they expect it to come easy . They are also completely unsanitary .....They half clean dishes, cooks prepare food without gloves and I've seen them wipe their dirty pants or rub through their hair with the same hands they use to prepare the meals ...most of the cooks smoke cigarettes in between time, and only rinse their hands with water . They have roaches. Their steak is cheap and glued. If you don't watch your cook there's a good chance they aren't wearing gloves. The manager Cory makes racist remarks about customers and employees. He refused to return recalled eggs. The syrup containers are NEVER CLEANED OR SANITIZED. If you come in at night theres no security so drunk customers are allowed to do whatever and nothing is done about it. Waffle House should've gone out of business a long time ago, don't spend your money here so it can finally die. They keep the bottles of cooking oil ON THE FLOOR. Tables are usually wiped off with DIRTY WATER. Condiments like hashbrown toppings and butter is never rotated. They know its not illegal to serve out of date milk so they wait till it smells to throw it away. The waffle batter and hash browns are prepared in a sink that never gets properly cleaned. The grills can't be moved so they never clean behind or under them. They keep pies on the same shelf as raw meat. If the dish sanitizer isn't working they use it anyway and serve food on unsanitized dishes. If you're lucky you'll get a server that'll make sure your stuff is clean but they only make 3 dollars an hour so its not likely they'll really care. If you still choose to eat here at least it may boost your immune system. read more

Poor service, waitress acknowledged our presence but said nothing and forced the grill cook to clean tables for customers. We sat at the table for a good 15 minutes before our server came to (rudely) take our order. waitress is also extremely rude to other employees and treats the cook poorly. Waffle House has always been a guilty pleasure of mine, so I was excited to be staying close to one while I was in town since there is not one where I live. The staff was very friendly and professional, which honestly I was not expecting. Especially my server, Tye. She was friendly, prompt, and expertly handled a difficult customer sitting next to me.
