Slow, slow, slow because someone was on break or hadn't yet arrived for their work shift on this Saturday morning. My omelet and toast took 30 minutes to be prepared. They were super friendly about it and perhaps this is outside the norm, but 30 minutes. Other than that... Waffle Hut has a wider menu than the House people and they have soup, which the House people don't do. Several creative options for omelets and biscuits and sandwiches. So there is more here than the other place. I sat at the counter which gave me a great opportunity to watch my breakfast (and several others) being prepared. It's a clean operation. My omelet and toast was hot and of course fresh. Well stuffed with the chopped steak, onions, peppers and cheese. Delicious and it kept me going for several hours until I got to Nashville for dinner. I would definitely return to the Waffle Hut but I'd check the orders over the grill to make sure they're not too backed up for a long wait. Came in this morning for a good breakfast and felt absolutely horrible for the young kid that was clearing off tables and washing dishes some older guy came in and was hollering at this kid so loud the whole dining area could hear it idk who he was but he does not need to be talking to employees of this company like that my wife and I were so astounded by it we will never be back! And we will be sure to tell all of our friends who referred us to this restaurant not to come back we got up and left after seeing the poor guy crying! Shame on you people! Stopped in this morning, walked over from the RV park, got seated right away, order taken as soon as coffee was placed on the table, and breakfast was served in less than 10 minutes! They should truly take waffle out of the name, so it isn't confused with the waffle house... this place can't hold a flame to the waffle house, which is always warm and inviting which this place I won't say so much for... Let's start with a disclaimer: When traveling, we love Waffle House and just about any local, dive-y breakfast place. We always check Yelp and usually steer clear of anything below a four-star rating - our fellow Yelpers never fail to get it right. We were in Paducah for a few days and could walk to Waffle Hut, so despite the 3.5 star rating, we gave it a try. Picture this, if Waffle House mated with Denny's and abandoned its bastard child on the side of the road, you'd have Waffle Hut. When we entered and sat at the bar, no one bothered to even raise their head to acknowledge us for quite some time. The staff had about as much personality as the dingy building and the food was inconsistent - my breakfast was actually pretty good with my omelet and hash browns cooked exactly as ordered, but my husband's "crispy" hash browns were a sad pile of mushy strings with no color or flavor. The biscuits were inedible - how can you not have a decent biscuit in Kentucky? Clearly, we were together but the waitress decided to give us separate checks - lol. They are open 24 hours, but no matter how convenient or how close it is (or how drunk you may be at 2 am), just don't do it. read more

It's got a more extensive menu than Waffle House, and honestly, the fact that you can get French fries here is a definite improvement over Waffle House's "hash browns only!" Need to improve a few things. 1 - A sign if you are to seat yourself or not . How hard is that to find and put up? 2 - If you are going to call yourself "Waffle" in your name. It's an out of the way location, plenty of parking. It was busy, All tables full. There were two couples at an 8 seat table and they offered us to sit at the end of their table which was really nice. We had to try the waffles of course. The food was all cooked to order so it took a little bit but not terrible. Food was hot when brought to the table. Had eggs, biscuits and gravy, country ham that were all good. Scrambled eggs with onions and cheese, bacon and waffle that were all very good too. Walked in and sat down at a table. Did not get any service and was sitting and waiting for about 15-20 mins. At one point, all the servers were gathered at the bar, still no one bothered to wait on us. The Good: Clean place with good building upkeep and the prices were extremely affordable. The "Not Great": It was cheap but I got what I paid for.... the food was bland and not very flavorful. My coffee cup had soap residue in it, I had to order a soda yet was still charged for a drink after the coffee almost made me sick. When I told the waitress about the soap she rolled her eyes and did not apologize, just grabbed my cup and walked away. Visiting the area and wanted to try some local places. I wish we had gone somewhere else. The food was mediocre at best. While the establishment was clean, friendly enough, and cheap it was severely lacking in everything else. I ordered biscuits and gravy and watched the cook scoop it out and microwave it. It was still only lukewarm and tasted like the McCormick powdered white gravy from the grocery store. My sons waffle didn't taste right like the baking powder wasn't properly mixed. The hash browns were soggy and the eggs were over cooked. If you want a cheap breakfast without having to do dishes, this may be your place. Waiter asked how we were but after we needed a moment to think of our order she came back and just stood there and waited without saying anything. I went to the Waffle Hut while I was vacationing in this area. At first look, this seemed like a great local spot for some good Western Kentucky country cooking. The atmosphere was agreeable to this and the waitress was quite friendly. Unfortunately, this is all that the Waffle Hut had to it's benefit. All of the food was mediocre and inconsistent at best. One of two eggs was overcooked, hashbrowns were soggy, bacon was cheap and salty, gravy was obviously store-bought and instant, waffle wasn't even as good as storebought, their idea of cinnamon toast was the exact same as the regular toast except a sparse sprinkling of cinnamon (for a whole dollar extra), and the coffee was burnt and only drinkable with creamer (and I LOVE black coffee). All of the flaws in the food were not fatal on their own, but it's the fact that everything that my family ordered had at least something wrong with the quality added up to a poor experience. I must echo that if you are a local just looking for a place to get cheap food without having to do dishes, it is passable, but it's nothing to write home about. read more
