45 min wait for a table. Over 20 minute wait for food. I've drank more than half of my coffee while waiting for waffles don't take longer than 5 mins to cook. Having a placard about wait times with your menu when it's not that busy is an excuse for bad service. Hire better more efficient kitchen staff. The food could be better. Cold food is unacceptable, plating of food should never be strewn upon a plate. Waffles on plate were soggy and lukewarm at best( I'm being generous) . I rank service above everything else . Was staying at the Omni and needed a good breakfast spot. Came here because it had great reviews and it did not disappoint!! Might be the best waffle I've ever had. Very soft, perfectly done. The sour cream that came with the waffle was sooo good, idk what they did to it but it almost tasted like ice cream? Incredible. Thought I'd have leftovers but I ate every last bite... We came here for brunch with a few friends. I went online and put us on the waitlist about 15 min before getting there and when we arrived, we told them our name and we were sat immediately even though it said 25-45 minute wait. So I highly recommend getting on the waitlist online. The menu has a lot of option. It was difficult for us all to choose just one thing to eat. Everyone said the food was delicious and well cooked. I got the breakfast tacos and they were so filling. The home fries were seasoned so well and were so crispy. Our waitress Madison was super nice! She was very busy with a lot of big tables but she still was able to be attentive to us. We were sat around 10am and we're leaving by 11am. For a table of 6, that is pretty quick service! read more

Shocked at the high rating and reviews for this place. Not sure if we ordered the wrong thing or went a bad day but I'd never go back here... Service wasn't great, slow and didn't bring one of our items. Seemed super unorganized too with how busy it was the time. The chicken & waffles was eatable but not great by any means. The batter on the chicken immediately came off but the waffle was tasty. Worst part was the "mocha latte" we got. Not sure what they did but it was by far the worst one I've tasted in quite a while. Literally drank a single sip and the waitress didn't ask any questions on why I didn't drink it...Plus still charged us for it too. For as good as it was our first visit, it went the opposite this trip. First of all, it took nearly 40 minutes to get a table because the hostess didn't seat customers based on the list she took. Anyone who walked outside to wait was forgotten - never sent a text to any of us. If you walked into the restaurant and remained inside, she would take you to a table quickly. We didn't realize this until 35 minutes into our wait when we walked inside and sat down after noticing quite a few parties walking in after us and being seated and a few couples who were also outside with us walk in and get seated immediately (couples who checked in right after us). Sure enough, a few couples came in off the street and she sat them ahead of us - then realized we were waiting and asked us how many were in our party again. She finally sat us, but it didn't get better from there. Our waitress was very nice, but it took 10 minutes to get drinks and another 10 minutes to put our order in. We finally got our food 2 hours and 10 minutes after our original check in time. The food started out good, but we quickly stopped eating after finding 4 hairs in the food. We paid the bill and walked out. Rather than make someone else's day worse, we will just count this is a bad day for the restaurant. It may take some convincing to go back at this point. Going to school downtown makes coming to Waffles Inc. an easy trip. Its a good place for some breakfast with friends! I always get the chicken and waffles. It had a maple taste with pecans and it's just so yummm!! I also always get a side of home fries. They cook them up so well, and I love to take my extras home from leftovers. My friends got the straw-nana crepes and a chocolate chip waffle, and they both loved their food, as well! Service is usually pretty good. It gets real busy in there, so they are running around a lot. However, there is usually a wait both to sit down and on the food because of how busy they get. However, it's usually worth it!! I really wanted to like this place and with the name I figured it would have great coffee and even better waffles, but it did not live up the name for me. Maybe we chose wrong but the waffles were just ok and coffee was pretty terrible. First, my coffee was served in a dirty cup but that sometimes happens so I'm not going to fault that too much -- but the flavor was not good either. Even when I got a second cup to replace the dirty cup, it did not improve the flavor of the coffee. There, of course, were a number of coffee flavor options but our server did not seem excited about any of them. On the waffles, they were just ok. The fruit did not taste very good on the waffle and my loaded waffle (think loaded baked potato) was not good at all. I might try it again but I think I need someone to assist with my order next time as I clearly chose wrong. read more

I'm not usually a "waffle person" but given the namesake, knew I had to try one of the waffles from here. There were so many options to choose from, both savory and sweet, and after much deliberation, I went with the Breakfast Magic. This savory option included bacon, egg, cheese, scallions, and sour cream... so delicious! I highly recommend getting on the waitlist before you arrive, as even though we were on it, we still had about a 20 minute wait once we arrived. The wait is definitely worth it, though. The only downside to our meal was the Bloody Mary, which was very watered down and just not good. Stick with the waffles, avoid the bloodies, and get on the waitlist, and you'll be golden! read more

She started us with water and kindly removed our straw wrapper trash, which speaks to my appreciation of clutter-less organization. I ordered a double espresso and asked for sugar and cream. She obliged and also brought two full size coffee syrups (vanilla and maple - obviously it's a waffle joint) just in case I wanted to try them. One of the most bizarre experiences I've ever had at a breakfast restaurant. My friends and I traveled into town from Texas, and we heard from someone this place had great waffles. They weren't wrong, the waffles were delicious. I got the funky monkey waffle, it was a great mix of peanut butter and chocolate with some bananas sliced on top. I recommend it. What was so bizarre was the ambiance. My group was large, so the waitress told us since we were a large party that she would sit us in the private room. I was thinking "oh, how nice of her to treat us to the private room," but let me tell you, this room was private, too private. It was tucked in the back, with no windows, one door, and two tables. Bare white walls. No paintings, no color, just the fire alarm on the wall, and a camera in the top corner. No music either, just silence, and the sound of our own voices. We felt like we had been put in a social experiment or something. It felt so weird sitting in there, estranged I'd say. The waitress gets us our water (all except two of us), and we were left alone in there for about 15 minutes as she prepared the others lattés. The espresso machine was just outside this room, so as we sat there we were accompanied by the screeching of the steam wand. It was laughable. My group kept making jokes about how this room was designed to make people go insane, and this was some sort of prank. Calling it "the insane room", "the screeching room", "the looney bin", "the clinic." But this was no prank, no this was the "private room" that we had the privilege of being sat in, away from the entire restaurant and ambiance of the establishment. I am thankful that my group was in good spirits and made light of the whole situation, but I can't imagine being put in a room like this with a hangry group, things might get scary. In short, go for the waffles, and don't let them sit you in the insane room. read more

It was so good we went back on Tuesday expecting the same. Unfortunately, Tuesday's experience rated a 2. Service was minimal and non communicative. I had the country Benedict and was not a fan of the country gravy that was on the waffle I guess coming from the south I have a certain standard for gravy's. My wife got the waffles frolic which is basically a sampler and she didn't like the gravy either. My son spit it out. The waffles was super soft and good and fruit was super fresh. Syrup could have been thicker. Also the temp in the place seemed rather high. Made us seem to rush to eat so we could get out. They were very very busy at the time so we sat for a good 30 minutes but the wait seemed fast. The restaurant was nice, right in the downtown area. The food was delicious. I ordered the Funky Monkey with a side of scrambled eggs with Swiss. I love how the Swiss was made into the eggs and not thrown on top. It took forever, more than 30 mins, for the food to come out after the order was put in Had to wait 30 mins, at the waiting area, but it turned out we waited because tables were clean up in a timely manner. We didn't see anyone leaving for 10 mins, but our table was ready. Got to understand what happened when seated. It took 15 mins for an employee to come clean up the table next to us.
