I was super excited to try out this place. Mt boyfriend goes to the one in Wexford and he said its always good. So I had high expectations. I started off with a SF Caramel Latte which was really good. And then we ordered our food. It took almost an hour for our food to come out. I got half of a waffle plain (GF) which is a nice option to have and my boyfriend got the Megaberry (GF) and we both got eggs. He got over easy -they over cooked them and I got scrambled with American cheese- they were so salty I had to return them. I could even see the salt on the side of the plate.... When we got our waffles, mine was overcooked and super hard. Nothing to rave about. His was good though and cooked perfect. Im not sure because it was busy or if its always this way but I always am willing to give a place another shot. For the price point I did expect better but it wasn't terrible. It's good food, and a generally nice place, despite the slightly garish decor. Where to begin with this place? The parking is very roomy and getting in/out of the parking lot can be a little hairy. We ordered their coffee which is smaller than most diners for the cup size. We ordered the monthly special which is so tiny and tasteless. I have had an omelette that didn't taste as good as other omelets and why is it so tiny for the price? I definitely won't be back at this place unless their food for the price and their food in general matches the price. The hashbrowns are the only plus, very tasteful and has a great balance. Our meals totaled $19 (each) for this little baby amount, it's like a kid's meal on steroids. Compared to the diner I went to yesterday where the price was roughly this, I was so disappointed with the size. They do offer keto, vegan and dairy free/gluten free for a crazy up price. It makes me wonder if it's just an overpriced kid's meal for those as well. Menu does have a lot of options and their coffee is pretty decent. I definitely won't be back nor recommend this place to anyone. I'm going to stick to the true diners where the price = the amount of food you get. I feel like our food should of been like maybe $10 and under for just how it's not proportional and if you just order the toast as a side, you only get 1 piece of bread. Updating to 5 stars after a second visit! We've been excited to try this since we heard it was opening! I've been to some of their other locations so was looking forward to having one close to home. Food was 5/5, everything was delicious. I had the gingerbread latte and a waffle with peanut butter and chocolate chips. We appreciated the vanilla and bourbon flavored syrups, though the syrup could have been warmed as a nice addition. The other downside was that the food was pretty expensive. Service was 4/5, our waiter was friendly but the food took a bit on the longer side to come out, but this may just be because they are so new! Decor was 3/5, the walls were super bright yellow with very little decoration. Maybe they will add more decor as they go! Though we didn't have to use it when we went because there was no wait, they have a virtual waitlist that you can join and wait at home which is really nice! Overall, hoping to update my review to 5/5 once they get some of the new restaurant kinks worked out! I will definitely be coming back. read more

So much for second chances. I tried this place again and it wasn't any better than the first time. Here is the rundown. Ice water is not bad. Coffee is meh. Definitely using the low cost discount coffee. Chicken and waffles- The chicken is almost non existent. 90% breading, 4% tendons, 6% chicken. I'm guessing they use the cheapest chicken Sysco sells. Overall a good place. It's nice to have a new place in the area. The food is always good when I go. This location however doesn't have alcohol. Which isn't a big deal unless you were expecting it. The service is okay. Always a little slow, but it give you time to talk with your party. I never really get the waffles. I get the breakfast platter that comes with eggs, sausage, potatoes and then instead of toast I get half a waffle. I just wish the decor was better in there. Bright yellow empty yellow walls. We were out to have a late breakfast. We stopped in at 1:30, our first time here. They were busy but there was no wait to be seated. We got coffee right away and the coffee was very good. I got the sausage gravy waffle, just a half, and my partner got the rather large BC breakfast and a half waffle. I thought mine tasted great. I don't think I've had a better tasting waffle. But boy were we rushed. Within 30 minutes my credit card was charged. My partner was still eating her meal when her plate was taken. She didn't even start to eat the fruit side. I have been to both the downtown and south side locations and really loved the place. I was ecstatic to find out they were opening one near where I am currently staying (this location), but I was concerned that it would be just as packed as the other two locations. Amazingly the parking lot always has spots and I never had to wait to get a seat. I love getting fruit on my waffles. Either blueberry + bananas with the blueberry sauce, or I get the megaberry. The omelettes are great and the potatoes are crispy on the outside, but fluffy inside. The waffles are highly customizable, and being the troll I am, I like to see what revolting creations I can think of (on rare occasions). Staff always accommodates my orders. Pic attached. Belgium waffles soft and yummy! The bourbon maple syrup delicious. They also have a vanilla infused as well as a maple syrup choice. I ordered the breakfast that came with eggs, bacon, and two non meat sides (fruit and home fries). The server was Emma and she was on point with order taking and listening. This is only the 2nd location of Waffles IN Caffeinated that I decided to try. Having known from my previous experience at the downtown location, I chose to get myself on that wait list. That decision paid off. Not only was it packed outside but people were literally standing outside when I arrived with my girlfriend. I was told our wait would be about 10-15 minutes compared with the 50 minute to an hour wait for those just walking in. While we waited I was looking at all the open space and thought that they actually could fit more tables in here to meet the demand. The color scheme was yellow and I knew something was up with that since when I ate downtown it was orange. We were seated within 15 minutes so I asked our waitress about the colors. My hunch was right. Each location is painted a different color. Seems as though the colors in use were blue, lavender, pink, green, orange, and yellow. BTW-if you want to purchase their Tee shirts they come in all these colors and sell for $20.00 each. Having surveyed the menu while we were waiting I ordered a cup of decaf before placing my order. It was served in a small household size coffee or tea cup. What no mugs? That's part of their name. You'd think you would get more bang for your buck but apparently that wasn't the case. I found my coffee a bit bitter so I was constantly sweetening it up and adding cream. Looking over the menu I couldn't believe what they were charging for add ins and toppings. Minimum price was $1.65 each. We looked at each other and I said to my friend, "Is this a pizza shop?" Seemed like it when I saw that the base waffle sells for $8.50. That's a lot for each topping. I was debating about getting the "benny" but when I saw it came with chilled crabcake, I decided to forgo that. Certainly didn't need a cold topping with cooked eggs benedict and ham. Each month they have rotating specials on a small side menu. They have gluten free and vegan waffles available. Vegan waffles incur a $4.00 upcharge. I decided to go with the megaberry but without the whipped cream. This waffle sells for $14.10. My girlfriend opted for 1/2 of a plain waffle. Service was good and I was surprised that we got our food rather quickly considering the fact that I read about the long wait times. They were your average size waffles-nothing overly big but a man came around and offered us our choice of syrup-maple, vanilla, or bourbon. I went with the bourbon and my girlfriend had the maple. The syrup I learned is made in house. Although I enjoyed the bourbon syrup I was disappointed to learn they don't make a blueberry syrup but they do have a blueberry sauce topping for that extra $1.65. My megaberry waffle was made with blueberries and raspberries with fresh berries on top tossed in a sauce. Presentation was spot on and surprisingly good. My girlfriend enjoyed her plain 1/2 waffle with powdered sugar. It was very difficult to talk there since it was so noisy. I looked at the ceiling and thought something had to do with it. The place stayed fairly packed until it was close to 1 PM when I saw they were starting to empty out. That was probably due to the fact that they close mid day. All in all the food was good but certainly not worth the mark up of these prices. As far as promotional gifts go they would be better off selling a colored coffee mug to their restaurant color and selling their house blend if it is so popular. Online ordering is also available for pickup. I can see this location is going to go far because of location and hype. To me the price really isn't worth it. I do recommend however that if you wish to try it then make sure to get on that waitlist regardless of how long the wait is given online. You will be glad you did. read more

First impressions . . . were O.K. to Good, so I am rounding up from 3.5 to four stars. I need to give this place a little slack . . . not only are they new, but they were super swamped with people on a Sunday morning (every table was full). I had about a twelve minute wait from the time I walked into the door to the time I was seated, and about another 15 minutes to order and receive my food. Firstly, I wanted to say that this location is in the former Kings Family Restuarant in Upper St. Clair, and this was my first time eating at a Waffles Inc. Since I never tried their food before, I went with a half of a waffle for my baseline meal. I also ordered their "Signature Latte," based solely on the picture shown on the menu, which had a waffle design in the foam that got my attention. My server was brand new, and it showed. I asked if the waffles I ordered were sourdough based, as mentioned in the menu, as she was confused. I pointed it out in writing, and she said, "I guess so," Well, the manager walked by, and I asked him, and he told me that they were indeed sourdough based, and also told me they also have gluten-free and vegan waffles available too. My latte was served quickly, and much to my chagrin, there was no design in the foam. Once again, I asked the manager about it, and he said they use a template to make the design, but since this location is so new, they didn't have the template yet. It was very tasty however, yet could have been a little hotter (by the time my food arrived it was just luke-warm). The waffles were mostly good. I ordered them plain with just butter, but they had powdered sugar on them, which was fine with me, as it tasted fine with the sweetness coming from the sugar. Being that I only ordered a half waffle ($6), there wasn't much to eat, but it was quite tasty, and fulfilled my curiosity about how a sourdough waffle tasted . . . (it wasn't really sour at all, mostly sweet from the powdered sugar). I must also mention, that there was a long, dark, human hair on my plate, but I did not complain about that, as I am giving them some slack on this first visit. I did show the manager, but didn't make a fuss. Overall, I was pretty impressed with the food, and look forward to coming back again some time and having more than just a baseline meal. There are many options here, something for everyone, and I am sure my server will get better over time. My tip included a $2 bill for luck . . . and she told me at the end, that she could use all the luck she could get . . . Cheers! read more

I had the BLT with avocado and fried egg with a side of ranch seasoned home fries...highly recommend!!! We will definitely visit again and try other menu options. So, finally decided to give it a try this morning. Meh. Ordered a plain waffle with butter and syrup, two eggs over easy, sausage patties. Food was served promptly and was hot. Butter was ice cold and unspreadable. Maple syrup tasted good, but was very thin and ICE COLD. WTH. Eggs were cooked perfectly, sausage was tasty. Waffle was kind of spongy....not slightly crispy. I've made better at a Hampton Inn, for Heaven's sake. Coffee was good as well. To the owners: 1) Make better waffles 2) Serve whipped butter 3) I know real maple syrup is expensive,but you should consider serving it WARM, in little plastic cups like you served the ice cold butter to me in. Went today as we've been waiting for it to open and we're pretty excited to check it out! Positives: our server (who I failed to get her name) was really great and appeared to be the only one paying attention to food coming up. She got the job done timely. The food was really good!! We decided to share an im letter as the omelettes boast '3 egg omelettes', but when it came out - was kind of small. Never the less,it was super tasty and didn't leave us feeling hungry so...I guess that was ok. Negatives: The atmosphere is really lacking. Super bright, borderline appalling yellow walls with very little decorative accents. Half walls separating straight lined tables. No greenery, artwork or other comfortable decor. Went there for the first time today and ordered five waffles. Despite it being very busy, we were seated quickly by a gentleman that didn't look like he was very happy to be there. The lady server was nice and friendly. The food came out very fast. My sausage gravy waffle was lukewarm and the waffle were cool and soggy. on the eggs Benny one of the eggs was hard boiled all the way and the other egg was loose. For almost $15 per person I think they need to make sure the food is crisp and hot and cooked consistent. I'm sure they will take this constructive criticism and improve and look forward to trying again! read more

My wife and I were excited to visit this new breakfast place and intended to go right after our early morning workout. Yes we were planning on eating back all the calories we had burned off. First off we couldn't even get in the restaurant because it didn't open until 8:00 AM so we had to kill 30 minutes somewhere else. What breakfast only place opens so late? They are missing the people eating before work crowd during the week. We were seated promptly and had Mary S as our server. She was definitely a shining star. She was super friendly and attentive. As for the ambiance, not sure bright yellow first thing in AM is the best. Definitely an industrial diner look. Food is pretty pricey for the quantity and quality. Coffee comes in what is like a tiny espresso cup... and though they have flavors for coffee which is rare in a diner, it is $.95 a shot which makes the tiny cup of coffee over $3.00 and no refills on the flavor shot. My first coffee was Luke warm and had to ask for a warmer cup second time around. (Waitress thought their front end warmer wasn't working right) Wife had sacred blue berry (sp?) french toast and I had regular French toast... with bourbon syrup and both were tasty. I left still hungry which means portion isn't terribly large. Summary score: Service 5/5 Ambiance 2/5 Food quality 4/5 Value 2/5 It was nice to try a new place and hope they change somethings to improve the value, but we won't be regulars. read more

Been to Waffles Incaffeinated 5 or 6 times now so I have a pretty decent sample size. I would really like to give it a 2.5/5 but here is my general breakdown. Price: 1/5 Starting with my main gripe about this place so you can avoid reading the rest if need be. The food is way too expensive for the quality delivered. $16.90 for a 3 egg breakfast combo where they ask how you want your eggs cooked but no matter the answer hey're underdone. A $17 omelet - something I'd expect to pay at a hotel where they can gouge you because there is nowhere else to eat. It could be justified, maybe, if it was large and better cooked but it fails on both. $2 upcharge to sub my side for their "roasted tomatoes" which I get 5-6 of and are oddly served cold. $9-10 for a kids waffles which is a half portion. Easily, $90 after tip for breakfast for a family of 5. Go to Eat N Park, pay half and leave satisfied that you got your money's worth. Food: 2.5/5 The food is OK. Generally when I go with my family I get an omelet, my wife one of the breakfast combos and my kids one of the waffles. They can't seem to properly cook an egg which is a problem for a breakfast joint. Whether it's the eggs in the omelets being over cooked, or my wife's over-mediums being basically raw. I can cut some slack if it was cheaper, but it isn't. Aside, I also don't think their coffee/espresso drinks to be particularly good. I don't believe they're actually pulling shots of espresso and steaming milk more of an auto machine that brews drinks. If one of the prime selling points in the name is caffeine and specialty drinks, they should take a more authentic approach. Service: 4.5/5 Service is good and friendly, the best part about the restaurant. Some younger servers who miss something occasional but also not sure if it's them or the kitchen. Ambiance: 2/5 Large space which seems to be largely misused, could benefit from a better floor plan. If you have a party of 5 be ready to get squeezed on to a 4 top. Wide rectangular plates make this extra uncomfortable. Kitchen window is in the dining room which means when you leave you smell like everyone's breakfast. read more

I only went once but, I'll give it another try because so many people seem to love it and I give everyone a second chance because everyone has a bad day now and again. I got an omelet that was not very big and tasted ok. The potatoes were off the charts great though and had white, purple, and sweet potatoes mixed together with peppers and onions. Only problem was again a very small portion. Last but not least the one thing I looked forward to was the waffle. I got one with the blueberry's cooked into it. The butter didn't melt so already knew it was cold. Sure enough I think it was cooked in the refrigerator not a waffle iron. I even ate it before my eggs because they do get cold fast but it had just arrived at my table. The only other good thing besides the potatoes was the coffee. It was very good. Tried this location in Upper St Clair for the 3rd time. Our food was cold all three times. Not the experience at Southside or downtown locations. Everything at these locations comes out hot & at the same time. Will not be going back again. We live in the township & have yet to hear anyone who has had a good experience.
