What we liked: The little window where you can see the cooks making your food was nice. The home fries were delicious with a surprising dose of healthy mixed in, rather than just greasy potatoes they had peppers, onions and I believe sweet potatoes mixed in. The tomato was delicious as well! The servers were friendly. The location was right downtown in walking distance from our hotel (right over the bridge from the baseball stadium). We were sat right away and did not have to wait. What we wish was different: The coffee cups were TINY, it's no wonder that the table next to us came in with Starbucks. It would take like 5 refills to get a normal amount. Although we liked that you could see the cooks, we did not like seeing our food sit in the window for literally like 10 whole minutes. Even worse, we saw two other servers come look at the food and walk away (probably when they realized it wasn't their table). We stopped here during a work conference at the convention center. It's close, walking distance. The menu is extensive and has lots of tasty options, we could barley choose just 1 meal each! We didn't have to wait, but we went during the week. I can imagine this place is probably busy during prime time on the weekends. The food was really good! Made quick and tasted great. Our server was very sweet. My only complaint would be that I ordered the "French toast" actually anticipating French toast. When I received a waffle I was a bit bummed. Same with the "biscuits and gravy".... Waffles lol. I mean.. I know it's waffles incaffinated but they may have taken it a bit far for me personally. First time for me! We were greeted and seated right away! Coffee was some of the best you'll find. The food was incredible! My only complaint is that I saw our order sit under a the warmer while our server, took and order from a table, sat another table, took a drink order from a table that he just been seated. Then, by chance, she walked past the kitchen and the food kind of appeared to catch her eye prompting her to bring it to us. The food was phenomenal!!! Oof... we made the mistake of not getting to the restaurant until mid-morning on a Saturday. The wait was about 40 minutes, which the length that the manager predicted. But we made the right decision to stay and not to try somewhere else. The waffles were worth the wait! Light, tasty, perfectly cooked, great toppings (I had all berries but my wife was a little more adventurous by having sausage gravy on half and fruit on the other half). Of course they have (what is now standard) chicken and waffles but there are so many more choices. Our server was pleasant and helpful, and the manager made sure to check in on all the customers. Our experience here was totally five stars. We had a large party coming to town and called a few months ahead of time to see if they could accommodate a large group reservation. They were totally able to support our group, and provided prompt and attentive service while we were visiting. Everyone in our party found something they liked on the menu, including the gluten-free and vegan guests; The gluten-free, dairy-free megaberry waffle was one of the best breakfast dishes I've had at a restaurant in ages. I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything by going gf/df. I also loved that they have almond milk, and they made a great latte. When my wife and I spent a night adulting in Pittsburgh, we needed a little pick me up the next morning. I turned to the ever trusty Yelp app and Voila...Waffles INCaffeinated appeared. Now to be up front an honest, waffles aren't my go to, but after looking at the menu, curiosity struck and we had to try it. I opted for the Crab and Waffle Benedict, while my wife chose the waffles and gravy (picture coming soon). To say I was impressed is a gross understatement. The amount of crab on my plate was insane. The flavor of hollandaise, infused with crab, and a perfectly poached egg was heavenly. But that waffle....wow! The texture was not that of a normal waffle. It was slightly crispy on the outside, and pillowy and soft on the inside. The perfect vessel to absorb the gooey goodness of the dish. My wife's waffle and gravy were just as good. A great flavored pork gravy that just soaked into the waffle that ate like a biscuit, but with an unmistakable waffle taste. Then. There were the potatoes. You wouldn't believe me if I told you they were the best roasted potatoes we ever had, so you'll have to try them for yourself and see, it they definitely were the best! They specialize a lot in menu items with waffles, but I wanted a regular breakfast with just eggs and a side item like bacon. The server sat me down and took my order immediately. I went with BC breakfast. The mushrooms were a great addition, and the three eggs made my meal. Generous serving of bacon and I got white toast on the side. Orange juice was good. We have been eyeing this place for a couple of days and decided we'd come in for an easy Monday Brunch. Kassie (the hostess) was a gem, very sweet and attentive, she sat us right away only for servers to run circles around us. Once our Server (Megan S) finally came over she did not seem very happy to be there. Not only was she rude I also never saw her again after our food was delivered by Kassie. I walked up to her and asked if she planned on continuing to serve us today she then rolled her eyes in my face and said "what can I get you" I just walked away because I'm from Miami and I have experienced awful service before but Megan was almost impressively awful. I asked for the manager but he was working in the kitchen and did not want to both him with nonsense. Moral of the story, I believe Megan should find another career path and Kassie needs to be promoted. read more

Enjoyed a wonderful breakfast. My wife had The Country Mile and loved it. I had the Country Mile sandwich with wild mushrooms and a side of potatoes. One of my top 3 favorite breakfast sandwiches I've ever eaten. Our waiter Chris was friendly and attentive with a great personality. The only downside (and the reason this isn't a 5 star review) was the loud, irritating noise the kitchen door made each time it opened. Think nails on a chalkboard meets squeaky brakes. I admittedly was disappointed by this spot. I really wanted to like it. This four star review is being generous, but is a compromise between my family's 4.5-5.0 rating and my 2.5-3.0 rating. It's a great downtown location, with at least 3 parking garages that are a short walk away and several more that are a moderate trek away. We arrived at around 10am to about 4-6 of the 25 tables full, and many of the remaining tables dirty. Our service was mediocre, at best. The food was ok, but nothing to write home about. Though, my kids loved the Funky Monkey waffle. My husband liked his Country Mile sandwich. My French toast was like warm and dry, and came out with zero toppings. I asked for the toppings, which they did bring out separately. We asked for syrup, which took quite awhile to come out "because they were being refilled." I was surprised the syrup was cold... if I pay $13 for a waffle, I expect warm syrup. The inside was dirty. Not filthy, but even for a street side restaurant it definitely needed some TLC. Food served on dirty plates and pushy waitress I am visiting Pittsburgh and came here today for breakfast. I ordered a southern waffle and it arrived surprisingly quickly. The food and toppings appeared to be strewn about and the dollop of cream cheese was smeared on the side. But worst of all, the plate was certainly not clean. Since I ordered a savory waffle there was no need for cherry cream, but noticed bits of it on a corner. Also found that the plate had a thin brown caking on the center, where the waffle hadn't touched. Having a dirty plate felt disgusting To make it worse, my waitress Chelsea brought the check while I was barely halfway into the food, even though the place was half full and kept checking on me to finish.
