We have boarded our old dog and current dog at this hotel since they opened as Paradise 4 Paws. We had no issues at all when it was Paradise 4 Paws, but since it was bought out by Wag Hotels, everything went downhill quickly. My current dog (large german shepherd mix - around 100lbs) came back smelling like urine after a 5 day stay - we had him groomed before his stay so there is no reason why he should have smelled this way after being boarded for 5 days. (side note - before it was bought by Wag Hotels, this place offered all day play for dogs and we were told we would be grandfathered into that on our account but after one stay, that option disappeared - it was just 2 one-hour play sessions and anything beyond that would be an additional charge). What's worse than the dog coming home smelling like urine is that the last two stays (one was for a week and the other was for 5 days), I got a call from the hotel while on vacation telling me that my dog was being aggressive toward other dogs. While my dog is big and a loud barker, he is not aggressive - he is playful but not aggressive at all. This second time, Wag decided to take him out of play group and do "special care play" (not sure of the official name of this option) which is one on one "play" with a human - based on the handful of photos we received, not sure there was any play involved, and this is an additional $55 daily charge on top of the already pricey overnight boarding charge that is $70 on weekdays and even more on weekends and holidays. It's funny and so coincidental that our dog never had any behavior issues at this hotel prior to it being bought out by Wag Hotels and all the additional fees they have invented. And now suddenly our dog needs special care to the tune of an additional $55 per day? Needless to say, we will not be returning and will not recommend this facility for daycare or boarding for any pet. read more

My wife and I have been using Wags since 2010 when it was Paradise for Paws. Our first fur baby was Harley who loved hanging by the water. Now, we take out current fur baby Penny for day care. Personally, we have never had a bad experience and we are very happy that our fur baby is in good care. read more

I've only had good experiences here. I bring my labrador here once or twice a week, and he always comes home exhausted from all the playing he does. Booking is easy,.especially if you have the app. They offer grooming and boarding services here as well in addition to daycare. I love that they do have a Webcam so you can watch your dog there. Anytime there was an issue, they were prompt in calling me and letting me know if something happened to my dog (nicks and scratches, which I totally expect to happen from time to time!) Overall, I would recommend this place to my friends with dogs in need of daycare. read more

A really convenient location for those traveling thru O'Hare! Bonus for offering parking at their site too (although its $18 daily). Everyone was friendly and trustworthy with my dog. I love being able to use the app to check the cameras and memories they upload. I wanted to stay two extra days on my trip and the staff was very accommodating about keeping him and providing extra food at no charge. Only downside is it adds up very quickly, I'd love if all day play could be free with boarding instead of an additional $17 a day. read more

Hope loved her time there. The first day was rocky but with their love and attention they broke Hope out of her shell. I called Sunday because she wasn't out playing and was told she wasn't very happy. My favorite was they called me Monday to say she was having a blast and sent me photos! Our dog lives for Wag! He gets tons of play time and is loved by all the employees. He has a difficult coat to keep looking good, but the groomers are fantastic and kind-they really know what they are doing. Front office staff is knowledgeable and fun. They have themed days for the dogs to enjoy. We have had our dog stay repeatedly for all day play and for short and mid-term overnight stays. He always comes home healthy and exhausted from having so much fun playing with other pups. read more

Everyone is so kind to her. she runs in and is so excited to be there. she has made lots of furry friends. we have also had Violet there for boarding and all went very well. I recently used the all day play for my 2 year old Boston. The staff is amazing. Everyone is super nice and very caring towards the animals. Unreliable, Unprofessional, and Unprepared - Avoid for Your Pet's Safety! (Left Stranded Last Minute!) I'm writing this review with deep disappointment after using wag for a concerning number of years - 4-5 to be exact. While initially convenient due to their hours and location , the problems became a pattern we should've addressed sooner. Past Problems: Our dog previously came back with fleas, an undisclosed dog bite leading to a an infection we were not told about , and weight gain from overfeeding. We kept giving them chances due to convenience and our dog liking some staff members. Ironically, we've even been called "one of their best customers" and received a gift at one point. However, everything changed when my usually well-behaved dog bit a staff member. I was told the staff member dropped the leash, potentially spooking our dog. Here's where things became truly concerning. While the bite was supposedly minor punctures, this was completely out of character for our pet. but I was med to believe this was a non issue and all seemed ok. Even more concerning, a supervisor admitted it seemed like a one-off accident. What truly bothered me was the complete lack of communication and transparency. I only discovered my pet was banned when I tried to book a boarding visit for a trip we have this week. Now I'm left scrambling to find last-minute care for my pet, causing unnecessary stress. Emails and calls were ignored until finally reaching a rude supervisor. This supervisor offered no reason for the ban , just stated there was an investigation? News to me !and refused to show pictures of the bite, claiming the punctures were *now severe ? We went from minor to severe ? Being a loyal customer for 4 years and having a dog with a clean record for five years at their facility makes this treatment even more unacceptable. We've spent a significant amount of money here, only to be discarded through a cold, impersonal app notification. It seems the "best customer" status they bestowed upon us previously meant nothing. Safety Concerns & Staff Training Issues: Here's the most worrying part: How can something be minor punctures and yet lead to a permanent ban without any communication ? This decision, especially considering the supervisor's own admission of a potential accident, makes me question their entire process. Furthermore, during our time using their services, we've witnessed concerning staff turnover with little to no experience. We've had issues with staff not answering phones, not knowing how to properly harness our dog, and even letting her run ahead during pick-up. These incidents raise serious concerns about their ability to handle pets safely and professionally. Unreliable Service: Adding to the problems, they were constantly late to answer the door when picking up or dropping off our dog. Despite advertising 24-hour service, they rarely answered the phone, making communication a nightmare. If you're looking for a reliable, professional, and safe dog boarding experience, look elsewhere. This place prioritizes over clear communication, pet safety, and responsible customer service. Their treatment of loyal customers and the apparent lack of proper staff training are appalling. Find a business that values your furry friend and treats you with respect. read more

I guess customer service doesn't mean much to Wag Hotels O'hare ‍ knocked my review down to one star. I had to board my animals for a family emergency and we had a wonderful experience here. The staff was kind and accommodating.

We're happy with the boarding services but the lack of organization is disappointing. Multiple times, we have tried to schedule grooming to be completed before pickup but Wag has consistently been unreliable completing this on time. We've had to return later to pick our pet up because of their unreliable scheduling, even with reminders and confirmation during drop off. At the price that they charge for boarding and grooming these issues shouldn't continue to be the norm. read more

DONT LEAVE YOUR DOGS IF YOURE PLANNING A TRIP!!!! this was the first time my dog stayed over the weekend while we were away. Left them with specific instructions and enough food to last the time we were gone. Upon pick up i noticed there was a lot of food left over. When I asked about what happened they let me know that maybe someone might have underfed him. I had specific feeding times and they totally disregarded m instructions and did not care. I saw where they signed off on his food and missed a dinner, then told me he wasn't hungry one of the times and I KNEW it was off. Then one of the girls told me they fed him their food when my dog has food sensitivity. This is the first and last time I'm leaving him overnight. nobody knows anything when you ask them. I paid more Than 200$ for This visit and NEVER AGAIN!!! I left crying because I couldn't believe there was no accountability or anything. And my dog is a REGULAR. super disappointing. read more

My dogs love going there, but it's so expensive. If I drop them off at 630am one day and pick them up around 8am (working a 24 hour shift), they charge $55 a dog because I went 1.5 hours over. Plus, they don't answer emails. read more

Wags hotel O'Hara mistreated and neglected my dog my daughter Madisyn was correct about the neglect my lily received while in there care. They did give me a full refund for the 7day stay in the ultra suit that I had purchased for my dog. Linsey was very nice on the days when she was worked , she really looked out for my Lilly and took care of her. The night time workers are the worse my dogs sheets were soiled and they didn't change them her tv was suppose to be on at night it wasn't they left my dog in a dark room with the lights off and the tv off. They have caller id and they wouldn't answer the phone when I would call, I saw on camera when they had other dogs in my Lillie's room when they knew that NO DOGS were suppose to be in contact with my dog because she's reactive I could go on and on about the neglect my Lilly received, but it just makes me upset all over again . Is my cat ok? Yes. Did I wait outside for 45 minutes at 11pm (the time I told them I'd pick him up) pounding on doors and windows, calling, ringing the doorbell, calling other locations to see if they can get someone to answer, before the employee who was sleeping on the job in the background to come let me in? Yep. Did they apologize? No. Did I call the next morning to speak to the manager, get promised the general manager would call me back and then not receive a call? Yep. So unprofessional I will not be using them again. UPDATE: Was offered a credit for my inconvenience (after I left this review). What is most upsetting is the facilities are not bad. The cat rooms are spacious. But due to the issues I had it's unlikely I will use Wag Hotels again. read more

We have been bringing our Rocco to this location since he was a pup and have always had a great experience! So convenient by the airport and open late for pickup . We travel quite a bit and have never been disappointed with the care. He always seems content and playful when there and we feel reassured watching him on camera. They neglected our dog. We did a trial with her an she did fine so we thought it would be okay. They continuously didn't fill her water bowl up, her tv was out for the majority of the day. They also had another dog in her room an then when asked by the staff what happened they tried to say it didn't even though we say it on the camera. Would never recommend for any pet to go there!! read more

Do NOT trust this place with the care of your beloved animals. Our pup stayed here over a Holiday weekend and was severely neglected. She came home covered in urine, dehydrated and unable to resume normal activity for days. She is a 3 year old doodle with TONS of energy and it was clear she was not taken care of. We always splurge for the large suites and based on the condition she was in (and the cameras just never seeming to catch her on them) that she was likely locked in a crate for her 3 night stay after getting harassed by dogs her full first day. I called multiple times asking where she was when i noticed a dog that was very similar being attacked by other dogs. The cameras aren't the best quality so I could not prove it was her. The first time they assured me it wasn't my dog, and mine was "eating lunch"...Which would have been impossible since she just got dropped off an hour earlier. The second time I called they stated she finished lunch, but was in an area without cameras and "very chill". Both times they assured me it wasn't my dog getting attacked, but they still didn't seem to prevent it from happening to the "other dog". It took us some time to process what happened and really urge prospective and current clients to read similar stories like this at other WAG facilities. We had no issues with the current owners and I am worried that more animals are being neglected and mistreated under their new care. I also seriously question the integrity of those working there to being honest. Not only did my dog never happen to be somewhere we could see her, but we sent enough dog food for a small army. When we picked her up they said she ate it all. She and 5 other dogs could not have consumed that much food and based on her low energy and lethargy, I don't think she ate anything at all. read more

I recalled, and explained to the representative that I have been getting erroneous emails regarding my dog who Wags has booked for 6/14 instead of what was booked for 7/14. Apparently, the rep, Jennifer, has not been told that her income is from customer satisfaction. Please school her on customer satisfaction. Brought in two cats (Mixtape and Charlie) for boarding. During check-in, they didn't have on file that the cats needed two separate bungalows. They asked me for Mixtapes medicine directions. All previously given during making the reservation. I was told that I would be contacted if the cats can be accommodated into separate rooms from a supervisor. I was never contacted. I was told to park in the wrong spot and luckily when coming to check-out, the manager moved my car to the correct location. Mixtape has cancer and needs medication for internal bleeding. I was contacted on the second day of boarding that they have given Mixtapes medication 9 times more than she is supposed to have. They contacted my vet. I spoke with the supervisor and they said they would only allow supervisors to give the medication to mixtape now and that is a special charge and they wouldn't charge me for that. Gee thanks. I asked how much is left of the medication and they said one more dose. I asked them to not give the last dose. However, when they gave me the medication back at check-out, there were no more doses left. They did not charge me for Mixtapes stay. But I am still traumatized by the situation and with all the miscommunication and lies. read more
