Because Evening Star is a tiny concert venue, so even if you are all the way in the back of general admission, you will likely be closer to the stage than typical. And tickets will likely be way more affordable than other venues, too. (Plus cheap concessions--water was a mere $2 a bottle, unlike the typical $6+ most concert places gouge you for these days.) This was recently the case for me. I was soooooo lucky to see O-Town at Evening Star ... AND IT WAS A DREAM COME TRUE!! Or, ahem ahem, a LIQUID DREAM come true!! ;-) I purchased pit pass tickets, WHICH WERE PHENOMENAL!! I was one-body-deep from the stage, and O-Town was right there--LIKE RIGHT THERE!! I had the perfect view, and SO MUCH EYE CONTACT with the guys, so many longing reaches, my heart exploded no less than a million times. After the show, O-Town had a selfie meet-and-greet option, and I definitely invested in that!! I saw them in 2001 and 2002, and have adored their music ever since. (Like adore-adored, I can belt out both the hits and the deep cuts off of their original album word-for-word, haha.) With the lights on for the meet-and-greet, you could clearly see Evening Star is indeed pretty rundown. But WHO CARES when you can be SO 'EFFIN CLOSE to your faves!! The sound quality of the concert was great, the stage was close and elevated enough where even the back of the house surely had a great view, and the party was POPPIN' with my favorite boys of Pop!! If you don't know O-Town, you are boy-band-MISSING-OUT!! (Immediately YouTube their more recent single, "Off"--damn, they still got it!!) But even if boy bands aren't your thing, whatever is musically your flavor, if they come to Evening Star, GO. You will likely be closer to them than ever before and have the time of your life with your favorite musicians. I'M STILL LOSING IT THAT I WAS SO CLOSE TO O-TOWN!! LIKE I LEGIT GOT HUGS!! FROM ALL OF THEM!! Because I WANT IT ALL!! OR NOTHING AT ALL!! (See what I did there, haha.) So get in there at Evening Star, and get all your hugs from your faves too!!

The place is a good size, it looks a lot smaller from the outside. The prices of the drinks were reasonable, and bottles of water were only 2 bucks. There was lots of room to see the opening bands and Puddle of Mudd quite close. The audio though wasn't the greatest, I've heard better. I stood by the side near the windows and nobody from the bar ever came to clean things up, with lots of beer bottles and cups piling up. The music ended around 1:30am which was far too late.

Speaking of tents the also had a tent with tables and chairs. Any place you were you had a great place for listening. They also sold beer and wine. Also pop and water if you were the designated driver. Farther down on old falls street there were restaurants and food trucks. So if you spent many hours just listening you didn't go hungry. The one band we listened to the woman's voice was unbelievable. It was just a great time sitting and relaxing, people watching. Oh and listening to music. Weather was also perfect for the whole weekend.

Everyone stands during BSB shows, which is fine. Nick came out and everyone stood up. There is a big space between the front row and the stage, so the whole front row moved up, which is fine. However, security did absolutely nothing, so everyone from the sides also went to fill that gap, and since I was in the center, went right in front of me. I was also directly in the middle of the row, so I couldn't get out. And to add to this, the one guy that was actually at Nick Carter's show not only moved out to the front, but stood front and center right in front of me. I am short, so I had the honor of seeing the back of his dumb head the entire show. Not to mention, what man stands in front of thousands of women at a Nick Carter show?? I realize that isn't the venue's issue, but I have pent up anger... So, would I see a show here again? Yes, But security needs to fix this, and I will most definitely complain about it if I go back. People with worse seats than me should NEVER be able to go stand in the front row.

I did have a moment with security trying to give me a hard time about the clear bag I brought. The venue information said clear bags are allowed. Nothing more on the clear bag specifications. They tried to send me back to the car with my clear bag because it had drawstrings and they said they makes it a back pack. Well yes, I can wear it on my back but it's still a small clear bag. I really didn't appreciate the fuss over this and objected. They let me go in after some back and forth but really felt this was ridiculous.
