When we were seated indoors initially, we were not pleased. It is excessively loud inside with fellow diners chatting. It might have something to do with the acoustics. We could not even hear each other chatting, my friend and I. Food 4/5 taste of the shrimp tacos with what appeared to be a sweet coconut rice was quite tasty. My seafood wrap was meh. Rather bland and dry. Too much wrap and not enough meat. Both entrees were $26 each. I think that's a bit pricey for a wrap sandwich especially. We ordered house wine, which was $10 a glass. Our Bill came to $97 without tip. Of which $30 was alcohol. I think we're paying more for the scenic location, which really is charming. The band was the attraction for us. We would've liked to sit around the fire pit after dinner to hear the band longer, but there was no seating available in that area. It would be nice to have more available in that respect. We were told that they close for the season the third week of September. So it is a seasonal destination. We saw a ton of servers, working hard, running around and bringing food and drinks to all the diners. Our server was also very good. read more

Had dinner tonight and was fantastic. Food was excellent I had the fish, shrimp, Cod Plate that was more than I could eat, my wife had Ahi appetizer and she loved it, my two other friends were very pleased with their meals as well. The Manager "Michael" also was walking around meeting customers showing his concern that customers were happy with service. It's not often you see the management interacting with customers but Michael is probably the reason this restaurant was so busy. The atmosphere was great and they even have live music. The Sunset Bar & Grill just gets better and better. The menu has seen a lot of updates in recent years. Nobody ever wants to share the tuna nachos or tuna tower with me, but the calamari is great. I just wish there was a little more calamari and less salad. We always get the bourbon burgers. I like the bourbon burgers at Neat a little bit more, but they're still a solid choice here. They always taste great, and they're always medium rare to order. I haven't been as crazy about the natural cut fries, which could use more flavor, but the burgers more than make up for it. Drinks are great. My favorite is the stag party, a Red Stag based cocktail. The electric blue lemonade is also fun. They have a lot of musical acts during the summer. We always make a point of coming when Nerds Gone Wild plays but usually end up visiting once or twice more in the summer, especially to meet up with friends. Service is excellent. The venue is beautiful with lots of outdoor seating, and comfortable lounge chairs around a firepit. read more

Staff was phenomenal, seated us right away. The bartender was funny, dancing behind the bar. We sat outside so we could see the water, what a beautiful view of all the boats and cute little beach houses. Food was good, I got shrimp tacos and my sister got the ahi tuna nachos. We enjoy sitting outside next to the water under the big trees. Service is good and drinks are cold. Food is tasty; but note prices on the actual restaurant menu are higher than those posted online and when you scan the QR code on the actual menu. Sunshine and I stopped for a quick lunch bite here on a road trip from Niagra to Rochester. This place is kind of hidden if you're not a local so follow the GPS. We sat on the back patio. Both shaded and full sun options. Great view of a small marina. Was nice watching the boats come in and out. She enjoyed the seafood wrap with fries. Great wrap but she felt the fries may have been a bit overcooked...but not enough to distract from the meal. I loved the steak and cheese sandwich. The sweet potato fries were a great side. BTW, you will not go hungry here. Not sure of the local pricing here, but our two meals and a glass of wine was $84 before tip. read more

I came to Sunset bar and grill this past weekend and the service was amazing, we didn't have to wait at all to get a table even though it was like prime dinner time. After we sat down the wonderful manager came to greet us and he was so so so so so sooooooooo kind it felt like I've known Mike for years. You can definitely tell he LOVES his job. Lowkey never met I nicer manager than Mike. he gave us a VERY detailed description of I think almost every item on the menu. He has a VERY high vocabulary. Also the waitress was so nice and then when we got our food MIKE served it to us and complimented all of us on the good choices we made. Definitely one of the best experiences I've had eating out. This place is amazing! They have live music almost every night on the weekends in the summer. The massive outdoor patio is right off the water and gives you a beautiful view. There is a nice size bar outside with the friendliest bartender I've ever met. Beer and cocktail prices were decent. The inside is just as incredible, it's huge with plenty of seating and they have a banquet room for showers, small weddings, etc. All of thee food is incredible! Well.... everything except for the French fries. Those were way over cooked and lacked salt. The food is a little pricey, but about what I would expect to pay at a place like this. Christina took great care of our party of six on Friday night. We ordered drinks while we waited for the rest of our party to arrive, we were able to split our checks, and the staff was attentive if something was missing/not right. My friends all highly recommend the Wilson Sunset cocktail and everyone was extremely pleased with their food. All of our drinks came in plastic cups (water, cocktails, pop - even wine) but with sturdy wooden floors inside & out, I imagine the mess (and liability) of broken glass would be a nightmare. Wow! This place is a real gem sitting on Lake Ontario. The interior looked fantastic, but we had dinner and watched a band on the outdoor patio. Beautiful cobblestone wraparound patio with an outdoor bar and a beautiful view of docked boats and sailboats. The food was excellent and nicely presented. Michael was definitely a hands-on host, going around and making sure that all the guests were enjoying the evening. Sunset is worth the drive. If I could give 10 stars I would! My whole family, about 15 of us, kids and babies included, had the best Mother's Day brunch, absolutely ever at the Sunset Bar & Grill in WILSON! We were flabbergasted by how perfect the side room was overlooking the harbor for our large party! Little kids were free to walk around a bit and then go outside and look at the boats in the harbor. We actually saw a family of baby geese, jumping off the little cliff into the water for the first time .. oh good I haven't even started yet but I'm sure it'll be fine thanks. precious. So basically what I'm saying is if you're looking to have a party the ambience and room was fabulous. The buffet was over the top. It had everything carved beef, peel and eat shrimp, etc.... all kinds of salads and fruit everything you'd expect.. amazing desserts.. so anytime this place is doing a special event with their special menu. Definitely check it out. But even better than all this was the incredible manager oh my God WOW. He walked around, checking on everybody the friendliest, down to earth guy, you'll ever meet ! Plus our waitress was totally accommodating also! I can't wait to go back for any reason at all. They have a full menu normally .. different banquet spaces .. a really cool bar with a cool bartender and lots of live music during the summer.. if you'd like to sit outside and get a cool breeze, this is the place. We went here with some friends at the end of the season. I wish we had found this lovely place sooner. It has a big deck, overlooking a beautiful harbor. Inside the facility it is spacious and well appointed with a fabulous mammoth stone fireplace. Clean and bright bathrooms. Megan, our server, was friendly and fast. I had a glass of Pinot Noir and my husband had a Moscow Mule. Our friends had various libations. I ordered the linguini and clams. Yummy. The pasta was cooked al dente. Perfect. It was loaded with perfectly cooked clams, in and out of shells. The garlic sauce had plenty of freshly cooked garlic. And the sauce was perfectly speckled with fresh parsely.fresh ground black pepper perfectly topped the dish. I could not think of a more perfect dish to enjoy outside, on a deck over a harbor, on a crisp fall day. My husband ordered the jerk chicken sandwich with mango salsa and aioli and french fries. He said the taste was good and his only complaint was that his fries were cooled by the time he got them. Two of our friends both ordered the fried haddock sandwich but received a fish fry instead. They said it was good but obviously was not what they ordered. Our other friends ordered the tuna wontons and the Buffalo Chicken Wing Dip which they loved. We had a really nice time here for dinner (group of 7). It was our collective first time at the property, and we were quite impressed with the size and location- it is right on the water with gorgeous views of the sail boats and like side cottages. Food was tasty, and seemed fresh- we did come unfortunately the last weekend of the season they were open so there was a slightly reduced menu, but still a wide variety of choices. There was a wedding going on in the event space down the hall as well, from the outside it looked like a really nice spot. Good drink menu featuring custom cocktails, beer and wine. Seafood-heavy menu selections, but several chicken and meat options too. Meals a bit slow from the kitchen, but it was busy. $20 burgers look good but I opted for the Captain's platter of fried shrimp, clams and fish. Wife's sweet and spicy stir fry was packed with fresh veggies. Starter list and salad options- also a section of "hand helds" was impressive. Such a fabulous place! Lucky me!!!! Two of us dined here on Saturday night and everything (yes, everything!) about the experience was fabulous! The setting: both the dining room and the outside dining area (where we ate on a perfect August evening) are lovely. The view of the marina was gorgeous. I felt like I was away on vacation. The service was warm and friendly and helpful. The owner even came out to make sure everything was good. There was a terrific duet performing. Wow! And I haven't even gotten to the delicious (!!!) food. The menu has all sorts of seafood, as well as burgers and salads and a few other sandwiches and entrees. My dining companion had a burger which he said was very good. It was served with a mountain of house-made skin-on delicious fries (yup... I had a couple). But, the star of the evening was my "Javanese Salmon". A perfectly glazed and cooked piece of salmon sat on top of fabulous coconut rice. It was served with grilled (and still wonderfully toothsome) asparagus, and then topped with the most amazing mango salsa. This may just have been the best dinner I have eaten all summer! First of all their food has gone downhill. If I want frozen chicken fingers I can buy a bag at Wegmans. The manager is horrible. Asked my son where dad was yesterday. That was not appropriate, his dad died. He's not right. He was trying to explain to me why they don't make hand battered chicken fingers anymore. I don't care about that. The French fries are not fresh cut anymore , frozen now. Charged us $7 for a side of fries which is absurd. Was told there food has gone downhill ..wish I would have listened to our friends who live down there. It will be our last visit to Sunset Grill. wow! just Wow! We had a group of 50 club members go to The Sunset Grill for a Sunday lunch. Reservations had been made well in advance and the manager couldn't have been more gracious and accommodating. they took special care to make sure we could all be seated together comfortably, our servers were courteous and served with a smile. orders were taken, and considering the size of our group, the food was served promptly. the food was absolutely fabulous and can you believe they allowed us to have Se pate checks. the setting of the restaurant is absolutely fabulous. this place is a gem. read more

Every vist here is a10 star experience but the reviews only go up to 5 stars. The food is excellent, the service is great and the management is even better. Some restaurants, not many, might be able to match this but they won't exceed it and they are not located on the beautiful Wilson Harbor where the atmosphere is off the charts. I have brought groups from 2 to 55 here and the Sunset bar and Grill always exceeds expectations. read more

We luckily found this hiding ace on Google Maps! As we wound our way into the location instantly felt comfortable and ready for an evening of good food . We're quickly on the patio and appetizers of curried mussels and steamers slid into our mouths. Had to ask for more bread so we could get every drop of the sauce. I had the Basic Pot it was filling and full of seafood. My husband had the cod special and it was baked to perfection with "casino topping". We have visited here many times. The place is beautiful inside and out. The spinach dip was hot and amazing. I ordered a fish fry with upgraded mashed potatoes & a side of gravy. The gravy had formed a skin over it from being cold, the mashed as well .When I put my finger on the potatoes the were refrigerator cold & clumpy. My sons fries were cold and rubbery. We seen our waitress 2 twice during our experience, one of which was to call her over after our food came to ask for silverware. I know they could of done better. read more

Excellent food and service. The Hostess Maura let us know they were low on help and that it might be a few minutes before the server could get to us. Instead of making us wait for drinks, Maura stepped up and took initiative to get us going with water followed by getting our drink order. She clearly stated that she had never served before so bare with her, however we would have never guessed. Maura continued to be our server through our our dining experience all the while continuing to do her hostess job. Hands down, Maura is a great hostess and server! read more

Came back exactly a year after my last review, for my dad's birthday again. I am taking one star off my previous review only because they removed my favorite mac and cheese from the menu and made the chips and dip a $6 app. Also one of the waitresses was either fighting with or complaining to a host about another waitress right next to our table which was a little weird. It's never easy finding a restaurant that can accommodate 14 people but we luckily stumbled onto the Sunset Grill. They sat us right away! Our server, Brooke P, was awesome and understood to keep the hungry kids happy first. When the youngest of the kids asked what a Loganberry drink was, she brought out free samples for all 5 kids. She could not have been better! Everyone loved their food. We had a wide variety of dishes including burgers, wings, shrimp tacos, BLT salads, lobster bake, shrimp, and steamed clams.
