Really like this place, Alexa was really helpful and walked us through everything. The 90 min time limit was a bit stressful for a family with 3 young kids but it ended up being enough time. The meats were amazing- so good. The sides were really interesting, not your typical Korean banchan. Kinda wished for more of those options. But you also get awesome stuff you wouldn't normally get (egg tarts, killer curry rice, lobster rolls, etc). Definitely will be back! read more

My family of 4 came on their official Grand Opening. We were seated right away around 1pm on a Saturday. It is a different change of atmosphere with neon lighting and bold signage compared to the previous establishment that was there. There is some construction going on near the bathroom. Service was great. Our waitress was attentive and filled my drink with milk tea when she noticed I didn't get a drink. She even brought a popular sauce to our table for us to try. They have a decent variety of raw meats, sushi, food and drinks. The marinated meats that we chose were all delicious. However, I was extremely disappointed on the fried rice, stir fried beef and noodles. They were all trenched in soy sauce when it was cooked. It was very salty and hard to finish. I noticed most of the sushi had either eel sauce, wasabi, mayo or yum yum sauce on it. I liked it, however, my husband was disappointed about that because he doesn't like wasabi or mayo on his sushi. Overall, It is priced too high for what they offer in comparison to other buffets that serve similar foods. I'm glad I tried it but I don't see myself returning. read more

This place is a must go. First let's start with the service at the door. The guy at the front desk was awesome and provided me with some great service. It's kind of personal so won't get into it. But awesome. My waitress was Inez, she was young and energetic, proving wonderful service. She explained the menu perfectly along with what foods were what. When the cooking grill was getting over cooked she quickly brought another one. This was great service because it was a very busy day. She also was very personable, be able to hold a conversation and make other customers she services laugh and enjoy their time. The food wow where to begin. I have been to many J or K pots or BBQs and none have provide the quality of meat selection that was here. If you are a meat eater you can really taste the quality difference. From the marinade meat to the sushi to the non marinade meat it was delicious. The cooked foods were amazing as well. The dumplings were good and I really loved the fried rice. The restaurant was clean and well kept together. You can tell it opened recently. No sticky floors not dirty trays nor did it smell bad. It smell clean and like delicious food. With it being as busy as it was my table was clean. Watching how fast a table was cleared and cleaned before the next customers came it was impressive. Only one issue, the seating along the back wall around table 34. There is a seat that keeps coming up and not fully secured. This could turn into a safely concern. 2nd day after their grand opening! Pardon their dust as they work quickly to address customer preference and renovations. Ari, our waitress was very attentive and friendly! Although it's self serve she kindly offered to get us drinks and ice cream to go. The membership makes sense if you plan to come here often. All the meat tasted good, sushi fresh, and soups were hot. This is my new favorite spot! I appreciate that you get your own meat.. specially since you are being timed and you don't have to wait on someone else to get the meat for you.. they have a lot of variety. My only observation was the space where we gather our ingredients.. it is a small area and we are all kinda crammed and bumping into each over.. this area could definitely be widened up a bit to allow for easy flow. Also.. they offered a specialty salt at the table, which has a sweet hint to it. It is a nice touch but I would have enjoyed just regular salt as well. EJ was our server and he was AMAZING! This place was great and EJ was an amazing server. Very attentive and helpful. Everyone was. Even when someone came to clean your plates they asked if they could get you anything. Top notch experience with the ambiance and the staff. They will even cook and cut your meat for you if you want lol The food itself was great as well. All the beef was very tasty. Even the buffet items like wagyu burgers and lobster rolls were a pleasant surprise. The meat was marinated well. Just a couple things. Salt and pepper. Sometimes there's no substitute. And the special salt and chili flakes at the table weren't. Being able to put just a little salt and pepper on the meats would have gone a long way. The special salt was a little sweet for some reason lol Two you serve yourself. So there were a couple times I went up for a certain meat and it was gone. Maybe just bad luck but it led me to getting items I didn't really want just to not be standing there as your clock is ticking. I have no doubt they will button that up. We came here during their soft launch still the Restaurant did not have any alcohol yet, but the food was pretty good. The Wagyu was American style Wagyu so while it was delicious meat, it didn't have as much fat content as you would expect for a Wagyu .There were sushi options and dumplings, and sides, but none of them added too much to the dining experience. It was KBBQ style and self serve so you do a lot of it yourself and your server kinda just replaces the grills since you also get your own drinks. We came here after the sun had gone down and the place itself was pretty dim lit so it was slightly hard to see inside while we were there. Our server though was great and had a great attitude and checked in on us often. For the price point, it didn't impress me that much but the food was overall good. Nice experience to try read more

I've been to many self-cook bbq spots, so I had to try this place during their soft opening. My waitress, who I don't remember the name of, was so attentive and overall a great waitress! She asked us if we needed anything every so often, which was great. The layout and ambiance of the spot was a little overwhelming. The music was so loud that I couldn't even hear my friend across the table, so we had to speak a lot louder than normal. While the restaurant area is big, the layout felt a little cramped. You have to walk between tables to get to the food area, and there were multiple times where I almost bumped into another guest or employee (the aisles weren't wide enough to go both directions). The food stations are also a little cramped. As for the food, it's nice to have a wide selection of wagyu, but I felt like the meat itself wasn't the best. There were times where the meat was too tough instead of melting in your mouth. Additionally, I felt like the marinated meats weren't marinated enough. I still needed my own sauce and salt, which I typically wouldn't need at other bbq spots. I did like the wagyu sushi though! read more

It already felt crowded and with the rushed urgency time limit people just shoved or cut in front of you to get meat. First time here and was pretty satisfied. The meat was good and I liked that there was a salt at the table that you could season as you grill. Our waitress Jasmine was phenomenal, very helpful and attentive and made or experienced very enjoyable as she was polite and accommodating. The entire experience was really cool. The restaurant itself was decorated nicely and felt spacious and they played really good music. The only thing that was somewhat difficult was the area where the food was presented, pretty small. There was constant traffic and not much room to move around when getting food. The meats were good cuts and we tried some soup and other items and they were all pretty tasty. The only thing I thought was bad and would not recommend was the sushi. Don't waste your time or stomach space lol. Oh and I thought the kimchee was actually pretty good. read more

What an incredible first-time experience we had! There is so much to take in. Sushi, mini lobster rolls, mini wagyu burgers, veggies, and so much more. Be sure to try the Waygu miso soup and the Wagyu Japanese style curry stew plus they had several other hot pot style soups I didn't get to try on my first visit And then there's all the various cuts and types of Wagyu beef to choose from -- too many to list! You can select different slices to grill at your table, with plenty of sauces and even a special salt for seasoning your food. Our server Celia simply outdid herself explaining the process at Waygu Factory. She asked if we wanted her to bring us various cuts for us to try so we placed our faith in her and she was amazing! Not only did we get to try practically all the types of Wagyu, she cooked it for us! Now that we know our way, thanks to Celia, we're looking forward to grilling the meat ourselves next time. There's desserts and drinks galore to try, but don't fill up because there's an entire category of Wagyu for you to discover. Because right now it's Wagyu Factory's soft opening their annual membership price is discounted to $29. As long as one member of your party has a membership you'll all benefit from the membership discount. I bought my son a membership as a birthday gift! This place is big yet have everyone squeezing trying to get the peace of meet and very crowded next to the kitchen people coming in and out trying to fill up the options. It wasn't packed yet it felt packed trying to get the meats you want. It is high quality but lacks big time in the seasonings and sauce options. The hot pot also packed in flavors. Over all there are better options in San Antonio as this place lacks in everything else but the quality of the meat. Which just makes this place even to other places that have more options. A solid 3. I don't think you will be mad, just satisfied at the end of the meal. read more

Wagyu factory is pretty much a 90 min buffet. I wasn't really sure what to expect when I first heard about it. It was an ok experience, overall. It's a very spacious restaurant. However, the food area is a narrow corridor of food on both sides crowded the entire time. Yes, there's "wagyu" cuts but with the volume of customers and the amount of meat offered, makes you ponder about the quality and how often it is replenished and also how long it sits there. The meat itself once we cooked it was satisfying. The rice machines are pretty neat, it's self serve rice and pretty much self serve everything. Our waitress, Jasmine was very helpful and attentive. The sushi wasn't very good in my opinion. It tasted like it had been sitting out for a while (which it probably had). I did notice a sign outside that they plan on remodeling the layout of the restaurant so we'll see what changes they make if we visit again. Wait time was short for a Friday evening. The ambiance was really cool--dim lighting, a great vibe, and we sat at one of the high-top tables. The drink selection was on point as well. Wagyu Factory took over the old Gen. Good. We were not happy with Gen. They are only open for dinner starting at 5 pm. Price is about $50 per person, and kids are priced by height. We came opening week on a Friday. They do not take reservations, so it's a gamble on wait times. Fortunately, we waited less than 30 minutes. Our first experience here was a bit overwhelming. Once you understood which items are available and where, then it gets less intimidating. They have Chinese food items like dim sum, soup dumplings, fried rice, stir fried udon-- they have kimchi, seaweed salad, veggies, a sushi cart (no sashimi, just nigori and rolls), marinated American, Japanese, & Austrailian wagyu, "fresh beef" (non-marinated wagyu) cart, hot items (wagyu burgers, lobster rolls, etc), mango and strawberry slushies, house and regular milk teas, soda fountains, and an softserve ice cream station. I am picky with my milk teas, but I enjoyed it here. There is a rice dispenser, which is pretty neat. Walkway where all the food is can get crowded. Soups (tom yum, sukiyaaki, and tomato) are available by request. Your server can help with refills, getting items for you, mixing sauces, replacing your grill, and even grilling the meat for you. Service was immaculate and attentive, from hosts to our server to the ones clearing plates away. Overall, we enjoyed our meal---all the meats were good. I don't like pre-marinated meats. This place is going to be good. I say that because right now they are in their soft opening and still getting their legs under them. We arrived at 5:30pm on a Saturday and told there would be a 1 hour wait, no problem. About 20 mins later I get a text that my table is ready, cool. We are seated at one of the high top tables which are ok. Our server Sophie(sp?) helped us orient ourselves to the drinks and buffet line layout. She also informed us we had a 90 minute limit and would notify us 30 mins before our time was up. Not gonna lie, its kinda hectic. There is no direction on which way the lines go so you got people just kind of crowded around for the drinks and soups. The mango slushy wasn't very slushy, more like mango nectar. The meat/entree lines weren't better. It really wasn't too much of a hassle but navigating around with a plate of raw meat isn't my favorite thing to do. Some of the spaces to get through are only 1 person wide, so you need to be patient around other patrons. The sides weren't very impressive if you are comparing to a KBBQ banchan spread, but the kimchi was pretty good. The meats were labeled A5 Wagyu but I suspect they might not be. The marinated meats were really good, not too much marinade so you arent burning the grill every time you cook something. We were there for only 50 mins when our 30 minute warning came. Not too concerned though because we had tons of food by this time. The lobster roll wasnt bad, the sushi was OK, and the tempura shrimp was a little cold. There are only 3 unisex bathrooms for the entire place and the sinks are outside, so if you are just going to wash your hands, you dont need to wait. But there can be a line for the restroom. I think I will try this place again in a few months once they are fully open. I really enjoyed the meat and looking forward to coming back and experiencing that again. read more

Parking fills up fast here. Customer service is really good. Aaron is a great server explaining how everything works and sharing his recommendations. The wagyu is legit here. The meats just melt in your mouth and this place definitely sets the bar high for any Ayce restaurants. Their sushi is not to be slept on either, better than most sushi joints I've been to. 90 minutes is plenty of time cook and eat. $50 price tag was well worth it. We went killing time at the shops around. Once seated you are free to get up and go start serving yourself. You have 90 minutes and they are very strict about timing. They have noodles, fried rice and few hot items including chicken strips, tempura and French fries. Then you find the dumplings and the miso soup which is like fountain drinks you fill your bowl and add the seaweed and scallions I thought that was pretty cool! Next to it they have couple of curries. And across they have the veggies and seafood... that section is questionable. Raw veggies are in the same section with the seafood I am assuming if children are free to serve themselves they could easily place the tongs that belongs to the seafood on the lettuce... I am not a hygiene freak but it was very noticeable! Then they have 2 meat sections everything is titled but still little confusing The last section is the sushi You refill your own drinks and they have soft serve ice cream to finish your meal At the table I saw a sign for hot pot which is included we opted to not order it The place is chaos! And I am one who love chaos! It is so busy! I thought serving your own self is better than waiting for the waiters to bring you the meat orders The food was alright. Saw a bunch of videos about this place and decided to try it myself. They're still in soft opening from what the waiter told me so their bar isn't set up yet. They're still working out the kinks of everything. This building used to be a Gen's kbbq before they took it over so the layout is more or less the same. They opened at 5pm and it was already super full when I arrived at 5:15pm on a Wednesday LOL The meat is buffet style. You grab what you want. They have sushi and hotpot as well and rice and lobster rolls in the back. There's also unlimited milk tea and slushes WHICH IS INCLUDED in your price. It is pricey $47.99 a person but well worth the price in my opinion for what you get. Comparing it to Kpot which is $35.99 for kbbq and hot pot, wagyu factory is only $10 more and you get better quality meat and more variety! Will be visiting again! read more

We went during their soft opening so obviously there's room for improvement especially with the look of the building but I think it has great potential and the pricing is right for the variety and quality of wagyu you are getting. My only negative comment was that some of the layout for the salad bar is wrong as it's hard to reach the tongs or the tongs can easily fall into other dishes and contaminate the handle. What a chaos! Cramped, the layout is just dumb. The hot pot was interesting, it didn't really boil but whenever I tried the broth it was burn in your mouth hot which I can't make it make sense in my brain. It took forever to get the server to acknowledge us and bring the check... You have to get not only the meats but the drinks yourself also, so what's the point of the server? Food not so great. So many other hot pot options in San Antonio that if not better at least you won't have to cramp yourself to get the food... not coming back, no thanks. read more

Big hype for nothing. All the meat cuts looked the same, there were only three soup options for the hot pot, and the sushi was just okay. They also advertised a seafood section that wasn't even there. Now, I don't mind preparing or getting my own food, but the servers could at least refill our drinks.
