The best eel avocado roll I've ever had! The spicy combo was very good, too.
Andy M.

We had the calamari appetizer tonight, and it was phenomenal. The squid was cooked perfectly and the spicy sauce was fantastic. I love the house salad and miso soup in addition to getting sushi or an entrée. The ginger dressing is delicious and they don't skimp on it. As for the sushi, I think this place is top shelf. I really like the eel avocado and I often get more than one roll. Grea

This place is my absolute favorite sushi restaurant. I recently started a low carb keto diet and Ichiban makes sushi for me without the rice and it's delicious. I added some photos of Ichiban over the years

The complete lunch!
Annette A.

With restaurants closed for dining, Ichiban excels at takeout. I stopped for lunch, ordered and was able to sit and wait as they prepared it. I catted with them and even ordered some Ichiban Tshirts. Have to support the local businesses! The Bento box had shrimp and vegetable tempura, fried rice, a spring roll and California roll. Sushi. If you are loooking for something other than Mexican burgers or Pizza... head to Ichiban!

Shrimp Tempura Bento Box and a Crab Rangoon. Delicious.

This is my go-to spot in Sussex. I order takeout a couple times a month, and the sushi and hibachi are always fresh, tasty, and ready fast.

It…read morefeatures characteristic Asian designs and styles, with both two-person and four-person tables available. The atmosphere is pleasant, and a restroom is provided. The food was excellent! Although there was a considerable wait for our meal, it was certainly worthwhile. Our appetizers also took some time to arrive, but they were fresh and hot, making the wait worthwhile. The samosas were delightful, and the crab rangoon was my personal favorite, perfectly filled and fried, with a well-balanced accompanying sauce. The beverages offered a unique taste, distinct from typical orange juice or mango juice, and were acceptable. I am uncertain about the Thai iced tea; my sister found it to be watered down and bland. Perhaps it was a different type of brewed tea than one might typically expect for Thai iced tea. Our appetizers and food were served by a robot, which was quite an interesting experience. We also had an actual server who took our orders and brought our drinks, but the robot was indeed a cool addition. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. I highly recommend trying their sushi when you visit. I particularly enjoyed the dragon BBQ eel rolls, which were so delicious that I promptly ordered another, the crispy tiger roll, which was equally delightful.

I let my husband talk me into getting giant beers too -that was a mistake. But the sushi was pretty good! The service was a little slow and the incense smell was a little overwhelming. 4/5

They gave us a chance to sample lots of the different food options available on the menu. We've also ordered à la carte and all the food here has been excellent. I usually get the sushi lunch set, and my husband typically gets the panang curry. We've also tried several appetizers; the gyoza were decent, the fish cakes were tasty, and the tom kha soup is quite good. Prices are a little steep for appetizers. The chicken in the panang curry tended to be rather overcooked, but the sauce is fantastic. The spicy tuna roll is good, the Alaska roll is standard fare, but the Fire Dragon roll was excellent. We also tried the Milwaukee roll and that was good too. My only significant complaint is that the sushi set has increased in price (by removing one of the items you're allowed to get with it). On my two previous experiences, you could get two classic sushi rolls, a miso soup, and either spring rolls or crab rangoon. On this last visit, they've redesigned the lunch set menu and now for the same price ($15.95) you can still get two classic sushi rolls, but then you only get a choice of one side -- soup or fried item or salad item. That's disappointing. They do offer the choice of getting a premium sushi roll instead of the two classic rolls for the same price, or for $23.95 you can get even more (though I don't recall the specifics). So while I previously thought the sushi lunch set was an excellent value for the price, I was bummed that they'd reduced the amount of food you enjoy for the price instead. And as a sidenote, the Thai tea is smallish in size compared to what you can get at other similar Thai restaurants. At $4.50 it's not that great a deal. All that said, I'll be back for that Fire Dragon roll. That thing was excellent.

The restaurant features a menu highlighting Mandarin influences, Thai, and Japanese, along with a sushi bar and hibachi tables. There's guaranteed to be something for everyone on this menu. We come for the sushi. They always have the freshest fish - Tuna, Salmon, Sea Urchin, Surf Clam, Eel, Sweet Shrimp, Abolone - you name it, they serve it. The sushi is available as sashimi style, maki roll, or there is a giant menu of different rolls and sauces to choose from. My wife loves the Sunshine Roll (tempura Lobster), and my daughter loves the plain tuna roll. I dig the Angry Spider Roll or a Volcano Roll. Crispy oysters are hearty, with a plum dipping sauce. I honestly haven't had anything I wouldn't try again! The sushi appetizer menu itself has a collection of unique presentations that have all been amazing! Before she braved the sushi my daughter often ordered off the menu, her choices ranging from chicken tempura to the Sesame Chicken or Lo mein, and always tasty with large portions. I was happy to finish later what she could not, lol. Service is good, sometimes the weekend nights get a little hectic but they make mean drinks! Get the Zombie rum mixer, it'll get ya there. My daughter always enjoys the Japanese soda they offer, nice little treat. Saki of course and Sapporo beer, there's not much you could ask for they don't have! Great place. Parking usually not an issue as much as navigating through the lot during peak periods for what it's worth.

My food was very good and the service as well. I did not sit at the sushi bar or do the hibachi side. Just at a table by myself:(. But like i said all was good. I would give it 5 stars for what it is but I did feel the establishment needs a little TLC. But great job! I will be back.
