Warm bread served and lots Of drinks! The group ordered a variety of steaks and all the sides. I also got a Ceaser salad and a wedge salad was ordered. Most of the meats were very good and well cooked. Normal complaints. The sides were good as well. Baked potato was hot and came with sides. Mashed potatoes were good as was the beet risotto. From out of town and picked this place for a birthday because of its reviews on Yelp. Did not disappoint. Great drinks and great atmosphere. We had the French onion soup along with the wedge salad to start. And, delicious bread. Had a center cut New York strip medium, cooked to perfection. Definitely one of those high-end restaurants that pay close attention to detail on are the little things that make a difference! We had multiple servers and they're all very kind and courteous. The atmosphere is really nice and elegant. I had a nice quaint size and feel to it! The food was delicious and I had a great experience but I'm not if the price is completely justified. This is a reason why I only gave it four stars as I felt like for the price and to get five stars it would need to be super exceptional. The steak I got was more salty than it probably should have been, the seafood was actually really good and no complaints there! The sides were delicious as well, I stand by my original point. My boyfriend and I went on a Saturday evening for date night- he made reservations for 8pm the week before with no issues. We arrived to Eddie Martini's at around 7:50 and we were told that our table will take a few minutes to be prepared, which I understood since we were there early for our 8pm reservation. We weren't seated until 8:15, which was a very curious time for us to wait for a table we already had reserved ahead of time. The service was alright- the servers and hosts themselves were very kind and knowledgeable but in all it was a slow service, I'm guessing because of serving other tables. Still- we were seated at 8:15 only to then have left by 10:15, we were there for two hours which when you're sitting there is a long time to have a dinner. In terms of the food- overall delicious! A very traditional old style steak house hits the mark for quality, food, service and ambiance. This is a first class establishment in every respect. A party of seven could not have been better served from our cocktails to our meals. We ordered a variety of steaks, filet mignon to Brazilian strip steak all perfectly cooked. A great sampling of sides, lobster Mac and cheese, risotto, broccolini, Brussels sprouts and crab cakes were shared and enjoyed. Baked potatoes and spinach salad with warm bacon dressing as extras accompanied a few diner's steaks. A complimentary piece of birthday cake was presented to one in our party. Wow! I discovered Eddie Martinis in passing and had to stop in. The second you walk in, you feel like you're taken back in time. It's small and intimate, but the food is the best part. I started with the flavorful lobster bisque and had decent chunks of lobster. For entrees, I got the seafood pasta, which was phenomenal. The pasta was perfectly cooked; if I'm not mistaken, I believe it was homemade. The sauce was creamy and delicious. And the amount of seafood was top tier. Every bite was better than the last. We got their three NY Strip special for the table: dry-aged, grass-fed, and wagyu strips. All amazing. For sides, I got to try the creamed corn, one of my favorite steakhouse sides. This was amazing too, as you can tell in the picture, most of it was gone before I got my helping. Overall, this was a fantastic dining experience, and the staff was terrific too. I was celebrating so I stopped over without reservations to see if I could get in and I was given a choice of the bar or a small table up front so I chose the small table, I didn't stop at a fine dining restaurant to eat at the bar. They were busy and my server did a great job. I started with a whiskey old fashioned sour which was good. I ordered the baked burgundy onion soup and the veal scallopini because I love veal. The place is nice looking with a bar as you walk in. The baked burgundy onion soup was very good and looked amazing. There was a whole piece bread on top covered in a heap of melted cheese which washed boiling hot like most places so you could eat it right away. The veal scallopini was thin, lightly breaded on top of a lemon saffron risotto with a citrus cognac sauce topped with a leafy green and capers. The veal scallopini looked amazing and smelled delicious. The risotto was delicious with thin cross sliced asparagus which gave a nice crispy texture vs soft risotto. The veal was tender and delicious lightly breaded and not greasy after the pan fry. Overall this was a nice place for a good meal and a cocktail but I would recommend reservations because it was bar only for some walk ins and even the bar ended having a wait list. read more

We have gone to Eddie Martini's in the past for special occasions. We recently went for my wife's birthday. It was a tremendous meal from service to food to atmosphere. We shared a delicious shrimp cocktail for an appetizer. I had a NY Strip steak done perfectly medium with a huge baked potato. My wife had halibut over a mushroom and spinach risotto that was fantastic! The restaurant surprised us with as Creme Brule and a delicious piece of chocolate cake. We came here for Valentines the weekend before. Unfortunately, it felt similar to other reviewers that if you're not a regular, you seem to be treated differently. Many servers just stopped to fill water or drop things off then bolted. We used to have a warmer welcome from our servers in the past. It used to feel like more of a supper club where everyone was a "regular". Also, while trying to finish the soup we watched as our server watched us finishing it so he could immediately remove the bowl from the table just as we finished. We felt rushed and unwanted. The food was okay - not worth the price these days. With their a la carte system, there seem to be better options elsewhere where these "sides" are included. I ordered my steak medium +. It came out closer to rare, but I was nervous to send it back and end up getting it overcooked or have my husband wait and his food would be cold. Personal preference: the veal reduction would've been better on the side. Otherwise, we liked the lighting and music, but that was about it. We would rather go elsewhere for a nice dinner. read more

I lived in MKE for 29 years, and had ALWAYS had good experiences at EM! Prolly went there 6-8 times a year, never had a bad time, and left plenty of great reviews as well. , when I lived there. Moved away, and came back 7 years later. On a Friday at 8pm, 5/15/, the place was virtually empty. After bragging to my wife, who've never been, on how great it was, we received cold & waaaay over cooked risotto, cold barely reheated veal parmesan, a seafood dish for her, who said it "wasn't so bad." But for a guaranteed price of at least $175, it better be guaranteed to be great 100% of the time. At that price and my age, why would I settle for a "just a bad night in the kitchen." Customer care was as excellent as I remember, though. Very attentive. I was told by friends later in our visit to MKE, to explain the empty tables, that "nobody goes there anymore because 'the food sucks for the high cost.'" Definitely would NOT recommend. We've been here several times and can say that the service and ambiance have gone way down hill! Our reservation was for 8pm-busy Saturday night. We arrived around 7pm so we could have a drink before dinner. First tip off that this was no longer "fine dining " was the fact that the people next to us were wearing sweatshirts and eating at the bar. That alone was a turn off. Then about 10 minutes before we were seated, a family came in with a BABY! Again dressed inPacker sweatshirts. Once we're seated, our waitress came to the table to ask if we needed more drinks and would be back with menus and warm bread. We sat for approximately 15 more minutes. Then another person showed up, gave us our menus and could barely speak. She apparently had a speech impediment which made it impossible to understand. No bread ever came out. Then the original gal came out to take our order and again never brought bread and never talked about it again. We didn't ask for the bread but it was evident by the other tables, we were the only ones not to get any. It was ok since we had plenty to eat but why tell us about it and then just ignore it later? The green beans almond one did not disappoint . I'm not a big bread pudding person, but theirs was insanely good. It pains me to have to write this. I want to start with Eddie Martini's is my favorite restaurant & that's why we chose to celebrate my birthday there last night. I want to say that the Maitre d, Wayne is exceptional as well as our server Brooke. The reason for my 3 star review: I have been a 20+ year loyal patron and several things were a miss last night. Only the chef could be responsible. My absolute FAVORITE soup is the Baked Burgundy. I have travelled many places & NEVER found one better!! However, last night it had crunchy onions, the broth was off, half the size of a normal bowl and now it doesn't even include bread REALLY??? Honestly, that ruined my birthday and I'm so serious, because if this is their new chef we're not going back anytime soon. I only order lamb chops once/year out of respect for the lamb population. I wish I hadn't because there was barely any meat on them and what I did receive was hard to chew because it was fatty. I honestly wish they had let him live. I couldn't eat it. I'm going to add that my bf's duck was dry & overcooked and I had to drink water just to get it down. I felt terrible for him since he really wanted this night to be over the top for me. Needless to say, my cats will be eating the leftovers and if that is a new permanent chef we won't be back anytime soon. I hoped and expected better. This place never disappoints. Every meal, every drink, every time, is always on point. Each visit, you are greeted with ambiance and service that are inviting, warm and gracious. Tonight we started with the crab cakes which are served with crispy prosciutto, on a bed of greens tossed with a light Dijon dressing, avocado and tomato. The crab cake along with a little of each one of those elements makes for the perfect bite.They were divine. I asked my husband where he wanted to have his birthday dinner and he said Eddie Martini's. They don't take online reservations so I called about a month in advance to reserve our spot. I was a bit worried when the man who answered the phone was super rude! He was pretty aggravated when I asked if we could sit in the main dining room - last time they sat us in the bar area so I wanted to make sure to ask. He also didn't ask if we were celebrating anything and basically hung up on me. Thankfully, everything was uphill from that point! When we arrived I remembered how much I love this restaurant. Beautiful atmosphere. The waitstaff was helpful, kind, and good at their jobs! We started with a martini, a manhattan, and a shrimp cocktail. We each had a Caesar salad. My husband loved it, but it was a little heavy on the garlic for me. For our main courses, I had the seafood pasta and he had the ribeye. I loved my seafood pasta and would definitely order this again. It was full of fresh, flavorful seafood. My husband loved his steak. Our waiter asked if we were celebrating anything special and once he found out it was my husband's birthday, they mentioned it several times and brought out a beautiful and delicious piece of flourless cake for us to enjoy. There were several folks celebrating special events and you can see why people come here. Our Friday night dinner experience with Eddie Martini's was absolutely delightful. Easy parking. Wonderful service team from the host(s? Or maybe the other guy is the manager) to our servers. Efficient service. Old supper club fine dining vibe. Warm and cozy lighting. And delicious food. Water and some warm sourdough with the yummy honey butter were brought to the table just 1 or 2 minutes after we sat down. Hubby and I ordered sea scallops for appetizer, and filet and bone-in ribeye for entrees. Hubby picked the bacon potato hush for the side. I opted for the mashed potato. We tried each other's food and agreed that everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly and tasted delicious. Our beef entrees were flavorful and juicy. Cut my experience short after a disappointing start to dinner. Upon entering Eddie Martini's I was greeted, and ushered to the bar. After being seated it was immediately apparent that I was not welcome. Granite I was wearing business casual... However my thoughts were that my dress was appropriate for sitting at the bar on a week night. After being ignored the bartender asked if I was eating, or if I just wanted a drink. Stating I would love a menu I received an eye roll, and another long spell of being ignored. I ordered the crab cakes as an appetizer with plans of ordering a steak after. The crab cakes arrived promptly and were good, but I've had better... I ate the entirety of my appetizer, and finished my drink. I found my self ignored once again for nearly 20 minutes. (There were two bar tenders, and both made it apparent they were ignoring me on purpose). Finally they asked if I would like to order anything else, to which I replied "no thank you, I will take my check." Rudely the bar tender addressed the individual behind me, and said I was leaving shortly, so she could have my seat. The whole experience was very surprising to me. I have eaten at many great steakhouses all over the country, and have never been treated so poorly. My quick take: this restaurant caters to the local elite. If they haven't seen you before, or if you do not quite look the part, you will not receive the service regulars, and perceived good tippers will expect. The unfortunate consequence for the restaurant is that more people exist than the regulars and those individuals talk... I plan on suggesting any other restaurant than Eddie Martini's. The bar tenders are clowns, and it's a matter of time until the staff destroy this place. read more
