The beard
PD T.

Used to love coming here for special occasions or whenever I want to satisfy my seafood boil cravings. Today, I felt so disappointed. The restaurant smelled like the inside of a dirty fish tank. It smelled so terrible, I thought about walking out. After receiving the food, I noticed that the mussels were not de-beard and cleaned properly. The sauce tasted very bitter and didn't taste the same like the many times I've had before. Thought it was one of my favorite seafood boil restaurants, I probably won't come back here.

Pho and combo 1

This was my first time here and it was really good, service was fast and food came out quick. The sauce we got was mild but it was still pretty hot. Wish it was a bit thicker but was really good. For the combo 1 is $41.99 and you get to pick 3 out of the 5 on the menu. The pho was good as well, I can tell from the broth it was made fresh in the morning. Parking lot if very tight but normally open a lot. Good spot check em out.

Ordered my food online and when I arrived they didn't even know there was an online order. So I waited 20 minutes to get the smallest overpriced portion of food. There was also an extremely long hair I found in it when I got home. Of course I ate it because I paid so much wait and waited so long I had no other options. But yeah pretty disappointing.

I visited this place while on vacation after seeing the awesome crab legs BLove on Facebook/YouTube had, sadly I was disappointed. First let me start by saying we arrived at 7:50pm, the establishment says it closes at 9:30pm. We were informed that they were no longer seating guests, that it was to go orders only. This was confusing as I saw ample staff members and several empty tables. I ordered to go. I got crab legs, shrimp (they do not sell headless only head on), and sides. Sadly, the crab legs were very skimpy/malnourished, as I got 3 clusters in a pound vs 1.5-2 clusters, which is typical in a pound if the crab legs are healthy, and meaty! I ordered rice, corn, potatoes and sausage. I was highly disappointed that I paid almost $4 for 6 little quarter sized pieces of sausage. The corn was decent and the rice was to expectation. Lastly, the sauce. It had an odd sweet flavor to it. Not my cup of tea. Happy I tried it, but will not be returning as I didn't really enjoy it and despite having ample staff and available seating, dine in options weren't available with over an hour and a half left of operating hours.

Must try: Lobster Roll!…read more Why: Loved the butter toasted brioche bun loaded with Lobster! Bun has slightly crispy exterior and was buttery goodness. Fried and coleslaw were also really good. Tons of fries that were also slightly crispy - just how I like it. I ate outside since the weather was nice and enjoyed my meal while people watching. Notes: The workers were friendly and helpful. They have indoor table seating as well as oyster bar area. Many tables outside of market too. This was my first meal during my visit to Milwaukee and what a delicious way to start!

I had a meal here many years ago while in town and enjoyed it. Recently I had the opportunity to…read morereturn. St. Paul Fish Market is located inside the very busy and popular Milwaukee Public Market indoor shopping complex downtown. It reminds me of the Pike Place Fish Market in Seattle. The only parking option that I am aware of is metered street parking. The building has 2 levels but the 1st floor is where most of the business are. It appeared to me that St. Paul's is the most popular business there. It is a seafood restaurant and fresh fish market. They have a small sit down area for table service dining or you can order your food to go at the counter. After being seated and reviewing the menu I decided to order the same meal I had over 11 years ago. I went with a bowl of clam chowder for $8 to start and then added a fried grouper sandwich ($16) with french fries for another $2.50. The chowder was perfect. Flavorful, delicious and I wanted more (5). The sandwich also was delicious and satisfying made with quality fish, lettuce, tomato, and bread. However while it tasted very good halfway through eating it the bread bun started to disintegrate and then quickly turned to mush before I could finish. Then I needed a fork to finish it. It got messy and I don't like that in a sandwich. It's only for that reason I give an overall 4 score instead of a 5. The french fries were very good tasting too but I had ordered too much food and only had room for a few of them. The table service was very warm and friendly. I believe St. Paul's is a very good choice for a casual seafood meal but please buy more sturdy buns!

The only reservation we could get was 4:30PM but we were excited we were able to get in at any time. Because of the timing, the sun was setting over the water, which was really pretty to see. I got a little confused with where to enter the building and I guess I went in the wrong way because I walked down the dock and entered the back of the restaurant by the restrooms, lol. Barnacle Bud's had a cool decor vibe and moody lighting. Our waitress was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and you could tell she was very excited about the menu and the pop-up experience. She provided exceptional customer service- she went over the menu thoroughly, came back to check on us multiple times, and always refilled our water, which I always appreciate! To start, we ordered wine and the relish tray. Everything on the relish tray was a little too vinegary for me but most of the table enjoyed it. However, the four of us didn't finish it. It was pretty powerful with vinegar flavor. For an entree, I had the salmon with veggies and my friends ordered the lamb chops, carbonara, and a vegetarian friend ordered a plate of Bud's potatoes and veggies. The food was good but I thought mine was very salty. And I'm glad I ordered my sauce on the side. For dessert, the four of us shared the mousse, which had good flavor and texture. Also to note, there were up-charges for veggies, sauce was $3 extra, etc., so just pay attention to pricing if that's a concern for you. Overall, it was a unique experience and worth checking out.

I was expecting "standard" supper club dishes, which are awesome & was fully excited for, but what we got was a twist on the traditional! Every bit had so much flavor & the portion sizes were plentiful. 4 of us shared 2 apps, 1 salad, 3 entrees (with add-ons) & dessert. Plus a lovely bottle of wine & some pre-dinner cocktails. The restaurant was decked out for the holidays inside & out. It felt cozy & festive. The service was beyond...from the moment we walked thru the door, we felt welcomed & even appreciated for being there. The staff is amazing! If you have the chance to go...do not waiver!

We also had to try the smash burger since they share space with Crafty Cow, and it did not disappoint...juicy, well-seasoned, and exactly what you want in a smash burger. Service was awesome throughout the meal (Dani was wonderful), and the vibe was warm and fun. They still had their holiday decor up, which somehow felt cheerful instead of overdone and made the whole space extra inviting. For drinks, we decided to get the cranberry kiss. Surprisingly, both of our dishes were pretty filling! The seafood Pappardelle, had lobster, scallops, shrimp, and octopus. It was on the heavier side, but the noodles that they paired with it, was absolutely amazing. The Branzino was nicely grilled, but wasn't dry on the inside. From the happy hour menu, I also ordered the Halibut Fish Fry and the Shrimp Cocktail. The Shrimp Cocktail had a sweet and chili cocktail vinaigrette, which I really enjoyed. From the dinner menu, I had the Kale Cashew Caesar, Lobster Pot Pie, and the Ora King Salmon. To my surprise, the star of the show was the Kale Cashew Caesar, which staff recommended. The Lobster Pot Pie is offered at market price ($55 when I went). They give you generous chunks of butter-poached lobster tails, seasonal vegetables, lobster cream in their truffle puff pastry. The Ora King Salmon was also delicious. Salmon was cooked perfectly--light and moist. I enjoyed the black garlic gnocchi and the apple gastrique that came with this dish. There was also a lot of carry-out going on. I suspect that if you go on a weekend, you should expect a wait. Our server came quickly to take our food and drink order. She brought out chips and salsa. The chips were good though I found the salsa a little bit watery. We both had lime margaritas which were also tasty. After that we didn't see much of our server, but a different server brought out our food and a third server picked up our check. I had the carne asada. Everything was very tasty except the rice which I found really salty on its own. But mixed with beans and meat in a corn tortilla then it was very good. My partner had a ceviche. It thought it was OK, but he makes a ceviche at home which he mentioned was better. Although I wouldn't make a special trip just to eat here, if we need to go back to the airport, I'd be fine dining here again.
