I took my ring back to the place that we got the diamond from. I won't say the name of that jeweler but long story short ... They completely MESSED up my ring!! I was so upset upon picking it up that I was crying!! It was not the same ring that I dropped off!! Mind you that I picked up my ring at 5 pm on a Friday night and then they closed. I took the ring home to show my husband and ... I was the first customer in the next morning. Too give the ring back....I sent an email to the owner and he called back my husband making all the excuses in the world. Then we gave him a chance to make it right!! Well a week later he personally called me to pick up the ring ... Guess what? Still crappy ... Still not the same ring that I dropped off ... By this time, I was so upset that I wanted to just throw away the ring... I didn't want this ring no more, it looked horrible and I just hated it!! Well ... Then my boss told me to see Mr. Bill and I did. I literally went there crying my eye balls out. I told him that I hated the ring and I want him to make me a brand new one. (My husband said to do whatever makes me happy...) so I thought if I could have a new new setting similar to it getting ruined then that would make me happy. Guess what? It was completely to my LOVING So with all that I said so far ... I was looking for a wedding band to compliment my engagement ring ... Want to know where I went? Right here ... Guess what? You should have some idea on what the special person in your life would want and pictures are the best way to get that help in designing the proper ring (if you're going the custom route). This includes, but is not limited to, the setting, the setting material, prong design, diamond clarity/color/cut/size, even other features she might like - and most of all, ring size. Knowing details beforehand made the conversation much more enlightening than I ever imagined. I spent a year sporadically researching options, keeping Moshe in my back pocket - turns out, he was the one I should've went to all along. Back in April, I contacted Moshe since the time was coming up fast. I googled that the turnaround time for a ring was typically 5-6 weeks and I was about 7 weeks out from the day I planned to propose. I needed to get with someone I knew people trusted and that just had a flawless attitude to getting high quality pieces completed - Moshe was my guy. I chatted with him a bit on IG to explain what I'm looking for, got a quick quote, and asked about turnaround time before booking an appointment. When booking the official appointment, you need to provide a deposit (that gets credited to your total cost of the ring). This is when it gets serious so make sure you're ready to commit. When I showed up to the appointment, I was greeted as if I were a family friend. Though I will recommend you inquire about the exact location of their office before you show up. It's impossible to find on Yelp at least to my knowledge and for security purposes, I think it's safe to leave that information out of my review as well, but that's something for you to keep in mind. Anyway, everyone is incredibly nice, they're quite literally like a family. We sat down in Moshe's office where he asked a few basic questions before digging into the finer details about design. I had videos, pictures, and experiences to share (based on discussions I had with my girlfriend). Moshe walked me through the entire customization from diamond size (which I had already picked out prior to the appointment on his website), setting, prongs, and of course, budget and pricing. Most importantly, selecting a date-range for pickup (at least, in my case). After designing, I got to meet Aunty M, who takes payment while Moshe got on the phone to get my order in the queue ASAP due to my time constraint. I was in the process of getting a fresh new credit card for this purchase so I put down a deposit on one card before paying two days later with the fresh one - kind of recommend this since you can end up using these points for a trip later, maybe even your honeymoon, who knows! Come the week that we take off on this trip (proposing overseas), I called up the office to see how we were doing on time. After a bit of back and forth, we agreed on a pickup date one day before takeoff. That meant that I was clear to not only tell my parents it was happening, but to also ask for the blessing of my girlfriend's father. Now that we're back, we downsized the ring by a full size so it'll fit my fiancée's finger better since the hint that I got early on about ring size was actually not accurate. I shared the story of the ring customization with her and let me tell you, it was quite an adventure, but she loves how it came out - it was literally the ideal design. A few days later, she tells me that she wants to visit the Honolulu Jewelry Company's showroom because they were having a sale on Hawaiian heirloom gold bracelets. So we go there and she gets supposedly their best price of $3500 for a 14K, 8mm, "light weight" HH gold bracelet. She is going to buy it, but I tell her to hold up because I think William can do better. So we drive to William's place and she looks at his inventory of HH gold bracelets and picks one she likes. He gives it to her for $2700 for a 14K, 10mm, "medium weight" HH bracelet -- she gets a better looking product, wider bracelet, and heavier (more gold) for $2700! She was ecstatic! But maybe I should have let her buy the other bracelet, because she would have used her own money; I had to pay for this one too!

Based on positive past experiences to buy jewelry, we decided to take in several pieces in to have repaired or custom designed. One was a 14K gold thin bangle (Ming's piece) that was cut and needed to be re-soldered. Another was a 14K earring that I wanted to turn into a pendant, since I only had one side (lost the other side years ago). The other order was transforming two loose beautiful fresh water pink pearls into earrings. She did a great job and have been wearing my new pendant daily! Margie is the owner and is very patient, professional, and experienced. The store hours are limited and restricted to only daytime, so it's best to call in advance to confirm shop will be open. Parking on a weekday can be a challenge with paid parking in surrounding buildings and street parking if luck is on your side.

Big mistake. This Ben Bridge Jeweler (now at space #2226) is apparently a Tudor AD, so there should be no problem with them changing or adjusting OEM straps/bracelets. After waiting about 20 minutes, I was told that the watchmaker in the back was having difficulty removing the OEM strap, and for me to please wait. Huh? Another 10-20 minutes go by, and I notice several other reps being called to the back to assist. The rep assisting me looked nervous, but was repeatedly apologetic in having me wait for so long. This couldn't be standard practice for a reputable jeweler, let alone a Tudor AD. In total, I waited for about 45 minutes for them to change the bracelet and finally return my watch. I had a bad feeling, so I checked the back of the watch to see if there was any damage. Lo and behold - they scratched the crap out of my 3 day old Tudor. To their credit, Gail (Assistant Store Manager) offered to polish the watch and remove the scratch marks but I declined before they could ruin the watch any further. When I asked whether the watchmaker taped up the lugs to prevent scratching/damage while working on my watch (which should be standard practice when changing bracelets), the rep helping me said she didn't know. In any case, the damage was done and this doesn't fix the fundamental problem that the watchmaker/rep did not treat my 3 day old Tudor with care... even when they knew that I am a returning Ben Bridge customer (they checked and verified my purchase at Kalakaua). Please don't make the same mistake I did. If you value your Tudor (or any watch for that matter), take it elsewhere that handles your watch with care. Next time, I'll be bringing my Tudor to the Tudor Boutique on Kalakaua. AVOID BEN BRIDGE IN ALA MOANA.
