This visit to Wahlburgers was highly anticipated and I was pretty happy with my visit overall. This location is set up next to the prepared food area in this gigantic and well laid out Hy-Vee. Boy do I wish we had a Hy-Vee in Saint Louis and Saint Charles counties! I'll review this Hy-Vee next. ;) Our order was taken immediately by a friendly staff member and we were given a number stand for the table so they could identify us to deliver our food to our table. Then my lunch partner and I found a seat in the Hy-Vee seating area which looks like a mid-range restaurant seating area with faux leather seating and wood tables, fireplace and floral arrangements that you can purchase from Hy-Vee. It's also right in front of the bar area at the entrance to their liquor section. This Hy-Vee has a full bar and bartender! It took over 20 minutes to get our food and I went to the counter to ask about it and was told they were waiting for the onion rings to finish cooking. The onion rings were well worth the wait and were the highlight of our lunch. Fresh from the fryer, thin and crispy with their light batter, they were simply fantastic. Not greasy at all. Every bit as good as they say they are on their reality TV show. I ordered the Original Frim Dorchester (O.F.D.) burger which contained double patties, swiss cheese, sautéed onions, bacon and tomato jam. I also asked them to add sautéed onions, which they forgot but quickly corrected when I asked about it. I thought the burger was really good with all of the toppings. I didn't notice that the beef was especially flavorful. The tomato jam was the bomb and they really did a good job in sautéing the onions so they were nice and caramelized. My only complaint would be that my top hamburger bun was smashed on one side like someone sat on it. LOL! It didn't affect the flavor though. :) My lunch partner ordered the chili cheeseburger and he did not like chili at all and scraped it all off. He wished he would've ordered the O.F.D. I will definitely be back for those onion rings and to try another style of burger as well! Nice visit and I took a photo with the cut out of the Wahlburg boys, but I'm not going to post it here. Finally I felt the "hipness" of this place had warn off "so I thought." Walking in we looked around for a spot separate from the store "kinda like the bar area is" but we realized it's just another part of the deli!!! Yep you order your Walburger at the same place you ask for a pound of ham. Not to mention any other meal from the deli or other food areas share the same registers. Upon ordering our burgers I couldn't help but notice the price; $12 for the cheapest one, and that doesn't include a drink! I just got a simple double burger, and my wife got some sort of bacon Swiss or something. We also got fries and onion rings. The onion rings were okay, tasted more like the onions you put on the top of a green beans casserole. But sorry to jump ahead; they gave us a number, and we waited about 40 minutes. I then noticed food sitting on the warming tray. Since no one was before us I assumed it was ours. The lady just ignored it, and kept ringing people up. After about 10 more minutes I went and asked, and she said yeah I guess it's yours I would have brought it to you "when?!!!" They do give you loads of fries, and the burgers looked good. Fresh vegetables, and a moist burger, but there was absolutely no flavor to the burger! Like not even salt and pepper.. This made the burger completely bland! I hate when these people don't season their meats!!!! If you are afraid of seasoning because some people can't have it, then they shouldn't be eating it. Don't make us all suffer because of a few people! Regardless never again, and I don't recommend you do either, unless you like bland burgers. read more

Very nicely decorated and laid out space. For being in a grocery store it was surprisingly a bar-type environment for eating. There were multiple TV's, it was never overly loud or crowded when we went, and the food came out hot within 15-20 minutes. I would recommend this as a casual eating stop while out on errands or for a small different atmosphere eat. read more

The franchise has made it to the Queen City of Springfield. Prominently located at the front of the restaurant district inside of HyVee. The newness of this place has the employees hopping. The burger and rings were fantastic. I look forward to exploring the menu more! read more

I agree with several reviewers on here. We also thought our food took longer than normal and then when we did get it, the pork tenderloin was burned. The onion straws was the highlight of the meal. read more

This is a Hyvee market with an excellent selection food court. Wahlburger has walk up service and a full bar with excellent prices. Was a very excellent service at both the counter and the bar. If your thinking about trying this absolutely do it I think you'll like it!! I ordered the burger salad and side of sweet potato tots and my husband got sliders and regular tots we ate every last bite. I had a Bloody Mary from the bar. read more

We were really excited to finally get to try this place out! We made a To-Go order (the wait was 30-40 min) and 1 of the items we wanted they were out of so we made another selection paid for it, checked out our groceries, came back and they proceeded to tell us another item we ordered they were out of! So we made another selection and that was out also, finally made another selection and shockingly they had it. They brought the order out all sealed up in their bags, get the order home and we have no sauce for the overly done pretzel bites, no sauce for either of our 2 orders of cheddar bites and one of them is so overly done it's just batter with no cheese inside. Let's just say our VERY expensive dinner (Almost $60) was a MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT!!!! We won't be coming back. read more

the quality has went way down. first they didn't have the grilled chicken sandwich at all, we then switched to the crispy but wanted no ranch or pickle. they put both on it. asked for Mayo , lady said "oh we have packets over there" did not have packets over there. I just asked for a new bun and they didn't toast it. handed me a cold ass bun. whatever. then I bit into my burger and it was fully pink in the center. not cooked at all. didn't ask how I wanted it cooked when ordered, so typically you cook it all the way? the lady said "I'll make sure to tell them WELL DONE." like no just COOK the burger ? it was not worth the $40 we spent. read more

The burgers here are delightful. A tad overpriced, but the sides are premium (and delicious), and you get a free kids meal with every adult purchase, so that mitigates the cost. My favorite burger is the PBJ... peanut butter (yes, peanut butter on a burger) and bacon jam. One of the very best burgers I've ever had! Definitely worth the long lines. read more

It was my first experience here and not a good one. Ordered a BBQ burger. I knew it had jalapeños on it and that's fine but I was not expected 6 slices of raw unseeded peppers. It was uncomfortable to say the least. The burger was extremely small and greasy. Onion strings should not be called onion rings. Will not be going back. read more

So 4/24/2022 decided to give this place a try for breakfast at 10am. Took 6-8 minutes after being seated to get our order taken, so pretty normal nothing concerning. However its 30 minutes later that we finally get an update that our food will be out shortly. 15 minutes after that we finally gave up and walked out with nothing to show but glasses of water. I don't think a half order of biscuits n gravy and an order of French toast takes over 50 minutes. read more

I've been wanting to try this place, so I waited until after the dinner rush and drive there. I walk up to the counter at 6:45pm. There are people who have already ordered waiting in their food, but there is no line to order. So I'm standing at the counter where it says "order here", but there isn't anyone working the counter. One young male employee asks me if I'm door dash, I say no and he continues about his business. Several minutes later another young male employee doesn't come to the counter, but asks me if he can help me, I said "can I place an order?". He mumbles "I guess all my people left" and continues about his business. A few more minutes go by and I decide to leave. I'm willing to pay $13 for a burger, but only if the food AND the service is good. I hope the one lady behind me had better luck. Very disappointing first experience. read more
