Oxtail soup was ono. I also had the burger before and that was also very good. Obviously, the place is clean and service is great. I always enjoy coming here to eat...and golf.

Attended Sony golf open tournament January 2025. Spacious golf course that can easily accommodate large spectator crowds. And blessedly this tournament was not heavily attended. Could stand right on the ropes up close to the action. I followed the leaders, plenty of breathing room. $40 admission fee per day is a bargain compared to many PGA tournaments.

This review is for the Hawaiian food served here during private party events. Have been here a few times now, always for the Hawaiian food during private parties and I have to say, have never been disappointed. The Hawaiian food served is always memorable and with great variety. My favorite on the buffet line definitely the squid luau! Also enjoyed the kalua pig and laulaus. Everything looked extra fresh including the poi, lomi salmon, fresh fruits and salads. Desserts included coconut cake and a most memorable haupia coconut pudding. The entertainment has varied as it just depends who is hired to entertain. It has always been memorable. Tonight musicians and dancers brought in from the outstanding Polynesian Cultural Center. Parking for large events has always been via valet service. There really is no alternative parking options. Unfortunately. Still, a minor in convenience. Would I come back here again? I would clear my calendar to be able to enjoy the excellent service and lovely oceanfront atmosphere!

Dinner in Kahala, Honolulu, Hawaii... When Paul C. invited me to an All You Can Eat buffet at the Waialae Country Club, I had to accept. How many times have I had an opportunity to visit this exclusive venue in the past? None... Of course, this is a fancy Country Club on beachfront property (Kahala Beach) in a high-end district of Honolulu. Check out the pristine landscaping, the perfect decorations, the luxurious restroom (with heated toilet seats), and entertaining player piano in the lobby! The food was delicious! I liked the scallops and shrimp entrée the most! The various salads, fresh fruits, and desserts were fabulous! The service was exceptional, professional, and courteous. Our iced teas were filled automatically. I had a crumpled up wrapper from my disposable chopsticks beside me, and it magically disappeared. This was a classy venue with a beautiful view and free parking. All guests should feel comfortable here! Thanks to Paul C. for the invitation to L&L's Company party! Even the co-owner, Eddie Flores, was present! The party favors included gift cards, mini cookies, and chocolates! Some of the door prizes were donated by the vendors and were given as awards for the games and Ugly Sweater Contest. CONGRATULATIONS to Paul for winning one of the Grand Prizes: an air fryer! It's something he said he needed and hoped to win... proving that wishes can and do come true!

Having a lovely ladies luncheon at this scenic Country Club! Spectacular views of the blue ocean! So relaxing and serene! What a treat to be invited! The menu is extensive with Starters, Salad, Soup, Sandwiches, and Entrees, Drinks and Desserts! Our host ordered some starters for all of us to sample and share: fresh crispy addicting potato chips and scrumptious Signature Poke Limu Musubi! I ordered the Lobster Roll: Maine Lobster Salad, Lettuce, Lemon on Toasted Brioche Bun which was very delicious! The S'mores desert too rich! Decadence chocolate toasted meringue with graham cracker crumbs on the side. Will order the Mud Pie next time!

Went for a seminar put on by Wendy Pang and they had a Hawaiian food buffet for dinner at Waialae Country Club. They also had live music and performances by Polynesian Cultural Center. Her seminar is always informative and interesting besides entertaining and great food! The food was very good with lots of variety and a dessert table of coconut cake and Haupia pudding. The only thing missing was the chili pepper water, overall everything was great the staff service was excellent. Parking was crazy, they backed up the cars on to the street blocking traffic, because they wanted to do valet parking which they had a person telling everyone to drive up to the front. A lot of people attending got fed up with the long lines they just parked their cars themself which turned out to be a smart idea, because after the seminar their were lines of people line up back to the hall waiting to give the valet attendant their tickets to bring their car. It was such a terrible mess, they should have just let people park their own cars instead of telling everyone you have to drive all the way up to the valet station. It would have freed up the congestion going into the parking lot and the congestion when leaving.

This place is immaculate. The clubhouse is on the oceanside next to the Kahala Hotel. The golf course is across the street from the clubhouse. I'm not sure who the chef is at this place, but compliments to him/her. The food was outstanding and so were the desserts. The kalbi braised short ribs were to die for. It was tender and moist with just the right amount of fat. The Waialae bread pudding with creme anglaise sauce was so good that I wanted to take the whole tray home. I would have snuck it out if I didn't think that anyone would notice, lol. The bathrooms here are fancy. It has a whole area to lounge in. They have bidet toilet seats that warms your behind when you sit on it. They host the Sony Open every year. I'm not really into golf, but don't tell them that. I'm just here for the food, haha. Yup, I said it. My dad is about to disown me as he's a big golf nut.

Service was superb. The buffet had expansive selection and replaced/refilled frequently.

Though a private club and difficult to get on it is a great course. The Sony Open has been here for many years. I hope Guly recommend those unable to play this course to get out in person and watch the open. It's absolutely fantastic the grounds personnel have again outdone themselves. It's only Tuesday and we have the rest of the week for the excitement to begin. Of course the Sony Open team has done an outstanding job of making this a event. We'll see how it goes. For those unable to see in person of course it's fully televised.

Came here for Administrative Professionals Day with our entire office as a thank you from our bosses. A country club located within a few steps from the beach, the picturesque location has a breathtaking view of the Pacific Ocean and the dinning area itself is gorgeous. The food was served buffet style, eat as much as you want! The servers were phenomenally quick with service and made us feel like royalty. The food was AMAZING, my favorite was the Teriyaki Salmon. The Deserts were also extraordinary, the Calamansi tart was something I've never seen before and were amazing, but my favorite was the bread pudding. This was an absolutely amazing experience and I look forward to our future visits.

I've been fortunate to be invited to this exclusive club and their food is consistently good. The wait staff is super pleasant and friendly, greeting members by name. Well actually I was told that they are required to know each member's name but it's sure nice when they are sincere in their greeting. The facilities are really nice too. They have a new fitness center and they offer a variety of classes. One of my favorite things to do there is to take a soak in their jacuzzi, then have dinner poolside. Since they are located right on Kahala Beach, it's nice to hear the ocean while dining.

Aloha, occasionally we get invited by a member to dine at Waialae Country Club. Beautiful setting on the ocean. Food always good. But tonight we came here for the Hawaii Venture Capital Association awards banquet. Considering the food is set to be served to the masses, they do an amazing job! Kudos to the staff at WCC! Extremely efficient and attentive. And yes, food was tasty, fresh & good. The signature cocktails we're really good, so glad HVCA chose WCC as their venue. Love having the outdoor sunset cocktails on the lanai. A fantastic venue for any occasion.

I came here today for our annual Hawaii Chapter of my alumni association board of director's meeting that was generously hosted by a member here. Arrived here shortly before 11am and still had parking despite a large event and their weekly Sunday brunch. The service here is OUTSTANDING as the waiters were very attentive in getting our drink order and refills. For a change I opted for their plantation iced tea. Your typical place produces an average drink but Waialae CC's plantation tea was very tasty. They were generous with the pineapple juice. It was so good I ended up drinking 4 tall glasses!!! I just LOVE the onion rings here. They are fried to a crispy golden brown and not greasy at all. The club sandwich, with layers of bacon, turkey, avocado and lettuce, was very yummy, too. I am just amazed at the restroom here. It is fully stocked with gels, tonics, hair spray, mouthwash, toothpaste and other men's accessories. I apologize for not taking a picture of it!!! I really enjoy coming here for events. Good service and food. Also, you get to see the beautiful ocean front view.

I had always looked forward to playing golf once I moved to Hawaii, so while I was still in Japan,…read moreI took lessons diligently with a professional. However, my shoulder unfortunately developed a recurring dislocation that worsened over time, and I was forced to give up golf despite my reluctance. Even so, thanks to my golf-loving friends, I still feel excited just looking at a beautiful green, even if I can't play anymore. This time, I visited Oahu Country Club for a party hosted by my lawyer's firm. The event was held in a private banquet room overlooking the lush greens, and it was a wonderful experience with delicious food, drinks, and pleasant live music. As expected, the clubhouse cuisine was refined and impressive. There was even a nigiri sushi station, which made me especially happy as a Japanese guest. The club is conveniently located about a 14-15 minute drive from my home. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that even non-golfers can become members, so I immediately started looking into it (laugh). After all, being able to enjoy great food and wine while taking in such a beautiful view sounded very appealing. Unfortunately, the membership fee comes with about six zeros in USD, and we quickly gave up the idea... That said, it definitely reignited my passion for golf. The course at Oahu Country Club is set within a forest and features significant elevation changes, making it quite challenging for beginners. However, it offers a fantastic opportunity to enjoy golf surrounded by nature. The clubhouse itself has a casual atmosphere, but there is a dress code--such as wearing collared shirts--so don't forget to check your outfit before heading in for a meal.

However, in the last couple years this course has gone down hill. The driving range mats desperately need changing out, a lot of them are worn down to the rubber underneath. The rakes near the sand traps are missing handles and the fiberglass is splintered. I will say the grass was great and the greens were really fast but I was still very disappointed in how all the other facilities are used compared to a couple years ago. The food in the restaurant isn't as good as other golf places near by either. The service is outstanding but the food is small in portion and honestly not seasoned well. The bathrooms are very nice though, the staff is awesome, and the amount of rain they have had to make the fairways and greens nice which is what keeps this place going in my opinion. I want it to be so much better! I live close by and this was my home course but am thinking about changing to another course due to Waikele's lack of care for the driving range, sand rakes, and food.

This is a review of the golf course restaurant…read more This is a wonderful lunch place even for the non-golfer like me! The staff is very friendly and helpful with menu selections. On the day I went, they didn't have French fries as an option that is listed on the menu. If I recall, that was the case several months ago when I went there. But not to be at all disappointed when I was given a really delicious mixed green salad with fresh strawberry slices and craisins with a very yummy salad dressing. It was the more nutritious choice, so even though it was my plan B, it'll be my plan A option next time! Back to my entree. I had the loco moco. It came with a generous hand-made burger with brown gravy and a scoop of brown/white rice. The sunny side egg was perfectly cooked. I had some of the fish sandwich too. It was just as delicious as the last 2 times I got it. The fish was a thick slice that was lightly egg battered. The brioch bun was so soft and tasty. I loved that there was tomato and lettuce on it. A deluxe fish sandwich! I really like it! They were setting up for a private event with cloth covered chairs. Maybe a good idea to look into that for a future event. The restaurant is set up with a few chairs, a side room that was set up with long tables with chairs, and there's a bar with several bar stools. I've not ever seen the bar empty. Next time you're in the Moanalua Valley area, check it out!

As the fates would have it, I am lucky enough to return to Oahu each year and stay for extended periods. They say everyone yearns for their childhoods, and that you can't really go back. Smarter people than I have said we all do this on some level, because yearning for those simpler times offers emotional comfort and safety. (*Read this next part like a nerdy social scientist: "The childhood home often represents a place of unconditional love and safety, a stark contrast to the complexities of adulthood. The feeling is that of, "going home" to a sanctuary that cannot be found elsewhere. " This place... Moanalua Golf Club, is a place that matches pretty closely to my romanticized memories of my youth. My time there yesterday was a "time-travel-reconnection" to how I recall a more-simpler time growing up in Hawaii. In short...I loved everything about my visit to Moana Golf, and savored each special layer of Aloha that revealed itself to me. The course is the oldest in the Hawaiian islands. That, in itself, makes it worthy of placement on a golfer's bucket list. But in addition to its history, the course was fun. It's 9 holes, but I played it twice and on the 2nd trip around, with my knowledge of the dangers that lurk on each hole, I navigated the course, "mo-bettah, dis time." (that's the pidgin English, that I used to speak fluently, starting to come out.). The green fees are very reasonable, and the putting surfaces were really well cared for. The fairways have suffered from the recent drought and are dry, but they turned my 200 yd drives into 240 yd drives--so, "No monku frum me, Brah. Bumbai, my scoar-card...all choke wid da kine pars, yah?" (translation: "I'm not complaining, brother. By the time I finished, my score card had quite a few pars."). Not a speck of trash was to be found on the course. I always see this as evidence that the people who are involved with such places make the effort to give, "special-kine care" to keeping a place as nice as possible. In my memorized version of Hawaii, this special-care for places was part of one's kuleana, (Hawaiian for responsibility) and it results in a reciprocal love between places and its inhabitants. The best part of my visit here revolved around the people I encountered. The pace of life seems to be one from a by-gone era. It felt like coffees and da News-pay-pah were enjoyed before heading off into the day, Kindness and friendliness, in the form of the Aloha-spirt drips and flows here. It is not un-like the deep and velvety aroma that rises from pikake garlands. I would quickly find out that the hole* place was filled with a positive vibe.(*I intentionally misspelled, "hole" as an inside wink/playfulness. Translations of, "Moanlua" say that it means, "a pocket or hole". It can also mean a place where travelers can rest.) My visit here made me feel like I had found a pocket of, "1970's-style/ easy-paced/ old-school Hawaii-hospitality and vitality". As soon as I popped the trunk to grab my clubs, I started to feel the aloha energy that sits in this "pocket" of specialness. While pulling the trunk down to close it, felt a cool breeze pass. The course is located in a wide valley, and a gentle flow of cooler air seemed to always be on tap. I heard the waitress from the adjoining diner laughing with a patron. Apparently, something had been left behind on the diner's table and she was returning it. They carried on a playful conversation using the local dialect of English. I smile every time I hear it spoken. Hearing it brings me back to younger days. The starter was hilarious (he was professional and caring, but he splashed in a playfulness that got the round off to a good start). The golfing members of the club whom I interacted with on the fairways and near the club house shared a welcoming energy.--cracking jokes and speaking to me like I was Hoapili (close friend). The grounds-staff who were mowing and cutting shrubs were helpful and almost-overly respectful (more than once, they stopped their tasks, moved way-off the course to ensure they were not in our lines of sight, and then they gave, "shaka" signs and sincere smiles after our hits. "Oh, da kine, good wan! Chee hoo!". One example that kind-a stands out for me happened when I pulled into the parking lot's driveway. It's a bit narrow, and as fate would have it, a car was attempting to pull out, just as I was attempting to pull in. The driver, (who, I could not see, for the sun was shining on his windshield) without hesitation, pulled back to allow me to pass. We exchanged side-window shakahs of thanks and, "Aʻole pilikia" ("No big thing)... but, these kinds of small gestures can be a big thing in our lives of fast-paced living. I have a feeling that this is the norm in this place of refuge. In a word, this place is: Puanani.

The pool is impressively small for the amount of people that live here not to mention the hours 9-6 come on it's literally still daylight out try extending your hours 9-9 sounds way better and what's with the high safety issue you have to use a key to get out the gate in a emergency the last thing your going to be doing is trying to find your keys to get out. The association that runs the place does not care at all about the tenants just the money they have entirely too many incredibly stupid house rules as they call them there are so many that we can just do with out and just piss people off like no water on the lanti that is clearly designed to allow water to drain off or the window screen on the front walk if it's dirty it's the end of the world cause you in violation of the rules and they have no problem finding you for it if it continues. I would not recommend this place to anybody due not move here if you have the option it's like a very expensive retirement home

After being invited for a Yelp Elite event, I asked that we host an office event here…read more My office manager set us up! She reserved three hours for golf and karaoke in the suite that also accommodated lefty golfers. Ordered great good in advance and coordinated a fantastic evening for us. Our suite had its own restroom with ample space, soap, mouth wash, and paper towels. The seating was bench style with plenty of room for 10 people. We had the big table in front of us for all of the food, served family style. Nachos, two types of chicken wings, salads, fries, etc. The service was great and they checked on us often. The karaoke options were vast. There were two books filled with songs. Everyone said they would not sing and then everyone sang and we even ran out of time to use all of our credits. They were just having too much fun. The golf has options on courses and you can enter names for line up so people can take turns in an organized fashion, or just play at random. Just don't walk in front when someone is swinging. You can bring your golf gloves or they sell some here. All of the golf clubs are provided. They have parking in the building. Better to use ride share.
