Okay, here's the deal. This is a budget hotel. The staff is friendly and the rooms are clean. And the location can't be beat. My sister and I stayed here for several days and did not feel it was unsafe. But know what you're getting into. There is a tiny lobby that's open from 8 am to 8 pm. The rooms are tiny -- think European capitol-sized -- with concrete block walls. The elevator is on the street, next to the lobby, and is accessed with your room key, right from the sidewalk. The carpet hasn't been cleaned in many months (or maybe years) and the pillows and sheets are not new. There is a Korean BBQ food truck next door and you can smell BBQ being grilled all day and Into the night (this was not a negative for us, BTW). There is no housekeeping service unless you're staying for over a week. There is no pool or gym. This is not a resort hotel by any means. But you're a couple of blocks from the beach in the middle of Waikiki. How much time are you going to spend in the room, anyway? If you're like us, not much. And you can borrow beach towels and boogie boards for that beach visit -- and use the sunscreen and the mosquito spray before you head out on adventures. There are dozens of restaurants within just a few blocks. As long as you're not entertaining customers or having a romantic weekend, it's a great place to stay. read more

Location Location Location! You cannot beat it for the price. The hotel can use some sprucing up. A great comparison would be a 3-star Comfort Inn or Best Western. That aside, you CANNOT beat this location as you're right in the heart of all the Waikiki tourist spots. Just a few mins walk to Waikiki Beach, Target, International Market Place, McDonald's, & more. Located behind the grand Hyatt Regency Hotel. Tons of food options and ABC stores nearby. Friendly staff and they even offer boogie boards, snorkel equipment, and other swim items to borrow. Super friendly staff. Our room had a refrigerator and microwave which we utilized everyday. On the downside, the beds are not the most comfortable. If you can put up with the Korean BBQ smell all day from the food truck next door, you'll be fine. If you're on a budget, this is the spot in Waikiki. read more

This place is difficult to find and even more difficult to park at. For around $170/night, let's say I hoped for more. The parking lot can tightly fit 5 small vehicles. We had to Austin Powers our small SUV into a space. So I highly suggest you REVERSE into their "lot". It'll be easier to get out later. It's $25/night for a space. You will need to contact the hotel and ask to have a space reserved for you. It's a cheap rate for parking in Waikiki. Awesome!! If you're not too particular about the decor or the square footage of the room, you'll be fine here. Our view consisted of the food trucks below, a couple of restaurants and other apartment buildings. We had to wipe up a little termite poop by the sink. No biggy. But when I saw he mold on the ceiling, that's when I knew we weren't coming back. Front desk girl was friendly and helpful. AC works great! read more

Oh hell no. This place is a cluster f**k. Yes it's close to everything but that's all it's got going for it. 1: the location is sketchy as hell. 2: the room is so extremely dated it feels like I'm in a 1960's motel that porn was made in. Carpets filthy, bedding is gross and let's not talk about the whole room just smelling musty. But my favorite of all is the cockroach infestation. Starting a pile that I killed as I type this. Also, the parking situation is a catastrophe. There is only 6 parking spots and if you don't reserve one then you're screwed. We had to park a mile away in a 24 hour garage and walk back. Just no. Okay let's be real--if you are looking at this hotel, it's because you want to stay in Waikiki Beach but don't want to spend $$$$ on an overpriced hotel room. Totally reasonable. For the location, this place is indeed one of the better deals in the area. That said, don't come here expecting a luxury resort. Come in with realistic expectations, and you will be happy. There are things to be aware of before you book. This is a small family-run business. The front desk is not open 24/7, and your room will not be cleaned every day. You will have to pick up towels and new toiletries yourself from the front desk. The way this place is designed, the front doors to all the rooms and the stairs leading up to the rooms are directly outside instead of inside the building. You do have to swipe your room card to get to the stairs, so it's not like it's totally unsecure, but it definitely gives the place more of a motel vibe rather than a traditional hotel. There are homeless people sleeping right down the street, though it never felt unsafe to us. The location is both a plus and a minus. It is right in the heart of Waikiki Beach (like literally two blocks away), so it doesn't get more convenient than this. There are tons of restaurants nearby, and bus stops to anywhere you want to go on the island just two blocks away. However, Waikiki Beach is quite noisy at night, and the restaurant the next street over especially so. Our first few nights, there was loud music blaring well into the night that made it tough to fall asleep. We got used to it, but it's definitely something to keep in mind if you're a light sleeper and/or don't plan on partying while you're here. My only other complaint here was that the sheets and pillowcases smelled musty. All that aside, there were also many things we liked about this place. Besides the awesome location, our room felt recently renovated and was much more spacious than I thought it would be. The large bathroom looked brand spanking new. Our room was clean, and the A/C and wifi both worked very well. The bed was comfortable. There was a cozy little balcony outside that was nice to have lunch on. In addition, the front desk really make the experience. Will was a constant delight. Sometimes we would stop in just to chat with him. There was another front desk employee (sorry I didn't get your name!) who was very kind and always super helpful. We didn't meet a single staff member who wasn't awesome. Overall, we would stay here again and recommend that others do so as well. It won't be the greatest hotel you've ever stayed in, but it is charming and memorable in other ways, and it won't bleed you dry in an otherwise very expensive part of the island. read more

I'm a little embarrassed to say I stayed here, but I honestly would book it again for price and convenience. It's definitely no Sheraton Resort but when in Hawaii (or any vacation), we don't spend too much time in the hotel other than to sleep. It's a rather dinky building. My friend picked me up one day and wasn't sure she was at the right address. Our Lyft drove right by us and had to back up because he didn't realize he had arrived. Pros: -Few minutes walking distance from the beach and Waikiki strip -Free beach towels, mats, boards and chairs -Fridge+freezer and microwave in the kitchenette Cons: -Sketchier end of the strip (although right behind the Hyatt, relatively safe) -No ocean view -No daily room cleaning (understandable due to Covid) -No hot shower water (lukewarm at best) -Noisy location right next to the motorcycle rentals Interestingly the elevator is located outside of the building, next to the lobby (if you can call it that, there's a door you walk through to speak to the front desk but that's about it). You need to swipe your key in order to access but technically anybody could sneak aboard. The elevator only goes up to the 5th floor so those on the 6th would have to take the stairs the rest of the way. That wasn't my problem as I was on the 3rd floor, just an FYI. I got my steps in half the time anyway. With two large beds, it can feel tight for 4 people. The room feels rather dim and old but it's not dirty. Towels were cleaner compared to other places I've stayed! You'll have to trade in your towels at the desk if you want new ones. Friendly desk staff, there till 8pm. read more

This is probably the best budget hotel in Waikiki area....great location....rooms are roomy and clean...plus the rooms have refrigerator and microwave....plates and cups and forks and spoons...the hotel also provides boogie boards and beach chairs...so many positives...so why am I putting only three stars....the front desk is only open 8am to 8pm and they MEAN IT... My wife and I came back to the hotel at 9pm and discovered we had left our keys in the room...there was no way in and no one to help...we called and called the front desk and only got a busy signal....we were tired after a long day, and had a few beers in us, and we're desperate for a shower and sleep...this became stressful and we made a few calls and had to pay over $200 to stay at another hotel... Yes, I enjoyed my stay at Waikiki central and was impressed by much....but having no way to contact anyone after hours is something everyone needs to know... This hotel is in a great location, and the rooms are generally nice and large. They also have beach chairs and towels you can rent for free. There's no sign-up sheet for them, so I'm not sure how they prevent people from stealing stuff. In spite of the location and the decent rooms, I had some issues with the place. The internet was not great the 2 nights I was there. Also, the water in the bathroom (both the shower and the sink) took a few minutes to warm up - long enough to where I almost turned off the shower and went downstairs to the office to ask if there was a problem with the hot water. You have to exchange dirty towels for clean ones in the office (there's no maid service unless you're staying for at least 5 nights), but I knew this before I visited, so I figured it wouldn't be a big deal (even considering the office is only open from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm). One night, I came back to the hotel at 7:55 pm. I looked in the office and saw someone sitting behind the desk, so I rushed upstairs to get my dirty towels to exchange. I came back down to the office at 7:57 pm; the person in the office was gone, and the office was locked. It was pretty irritating that they would close the office 3 minutes before the listed closing time, especially when the guests rely on the office for things like clean towels. Also, later at night, there was a homeless guy sleeping next to the elevator for the hotel, which was a little off-putting. The price is reasonable, all things considered. You're really just paying for the location to the beach. But if you can spring for a slightly better hotel, I'd recommend doing that. read more

Thanks to Yelp and TripAdvisor for this valuable budget find. If you're looking for first class it's not.. What I like most about this hotel is the location, location, location. It's 1 block away from the Hyatt Regency, 2 blocks away from the shores of Waikiki. The conveniences of the city and the low cost are unmatched. In Hawaii of August 2010 I stayed at the Aqua Bamboo Hotel. Try as I might, I couldn't find a price this year below $150/night. Their back entrance faces the front entrance of this hotel. I wanted some lodging in the same vicinity for a lower price and the Hawaiian spirits must have helped me out. My search ended happily when I stumbled upon this $70/night, a true bargain. I had 2 double beds + a kitchenette + tiny balcony that had a sliver of an ocean view. The a/c was noisy though effective. With ear plugs and a busy schedule during the day, I slept soundly at night. The commercial "no bugs my lady" was true here. I was impressed, no bugs. I have stayed at hotels twice the price and roaches have appeared. The housekeeper came on the 4th day. That was fine with me. The plumbing & water pressure surpassed 5 star hotels. Both the toilet and the shower worked magnificently. If I wanted extra towels I asked for them. I didn't mind taking my trash out daily to the parking lot trash bin. There were a few inconveniences. No internet connection in the room. The first couple days, a senior man behind the desk, didn't know how to make the internet connection work in the lobby either. After that, the regular help came back to work (away on vacation) and apologized. They examined the port and got it working instantly. In essence, the internet connection is only available in the lobby. There's also no in room safe. Thus I resorted to putting valuables in the hotel safe daily. There's beach towels @ the front desk, a boogie board for the asking, bamboo mats, beach chairs and even a beach umbrella. There's laundry available behind, in the parking lot. They have Tide detergent for $1 a box. The people who work here are genuine and sincere, very helpful Parking although it is $15 here for overnight (must reserve in advance) around the corner on Koa Ave. it's only $7, handy if you guests (from 6 a.m. to midnight) for the day. WIthin a couple blocks there's nearly everything you need. There's Me Barbeque (Korean) open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. 6 days/week across the street and up a half a block. There's a couple of car rentals, a grocery store, a health food store (Ruffage) and of course ABC convenience stores. I've stayed at hotels around the world, budget (Ethiopia, Thailand $10) to luxury (Shangri-La in Australia) corner views. Jason B.'s review was right on. Just go in with the right state of mind, think open minded. When I travel budget minded, I think of it as a step above camping in my youth. This is one hotel I'll be sure to return to. read more

I loved this hotel! I don't travel to Hawaii for swimming pools and room service, just a place to sleep and shower at. This hotel fit the bill plus no resort fees! Free wifi! Parking is 25 a night which is no sweat since there are no resort fees and they watch the parking area which is very small so don't rent a large vehicle. The staff at the desk are very kind and helpful. Can't stress that enough. I lost my phone on the north shore and staff quickly assisted me with getting to a Verizon store. Left my room keys twice (vacay with a 4 year old) and no issue getting more keys! There are some beach chairs, towels and umbrellas, oh and boogie boards free to use. I'm donating sand toys and a float tomorrow! Room is spacious, area to hang up clothes or dry clothes since things don't usually dry in Hawaii! Kitchen area includes mini fridge, microwave, dishes and utensils for two, and a coffee maker. bed is comfortable, a/c works GREAT. Patio is small with brick wall. Standing out there you get fresh air. There is a cold water dispenser (filtered) in the lobby but the water in Hawaii is tasty. Bathroom is clean with new shower and sink, no problems there. There are two small restaurants across the street, the one upstairs make the BEST mai tai, happy hour til 6 I think, food is a lil pricey. The walk to the beach is literally a few mins away. Like some of the other reviewers, at first hand I thought that the hotel was a tad dated (not like the pictures online). Next I was slightly annoyed that they used my middle name as my last name and it took forever for them to find my confirmation. Once upstairs, the room was comfy, even if a tad dated, but the bathroom was oh so cute! They did give us clean towels everyday, but the linens weren't changed when we put the card on the bed. Still though, the stay was pleasant and having a parking pass was very convenient, and the cookies they give you in the welcome box were very nummy! I wish that they had free wi-fi, but I survived with my own hotspot. Great stay but I highly recommend you book through expedia, that way you are actually paying what the hotel is worth. My husband and I checked in three days ago. We moved to the island and are staying here till we find a place to live. It is not glamorous, no frills, but has everything we need (bed, kitchenette, closet, balcony and parking). Chardonnay at the front desk is so nice and we feel very comfortable and safe here. Rooms don't get cleaned every day like at resorts, but it's not a big deal to us. If you want more towels, they give them to you. If you need anything they are very easy to talk to and very accommodating. Great location-quick walk to the beach/shops and clean and no bugs so far! We actually met friends at the Sheraton last night and saw multiple roaches there!! Highly recommended if you don't care about daily cleaning, room service, gyms, pool, etc. read more

WAIKIKI PRINCE is an old little budget hotel that is right down the street from the beach. Of course I wasn't expecting a Hilton hotel environment at $85/night in Waikiki, I just wanted a good location at a cheap price. Although they are in a great location, the cons outweighed it. CONS: ~There were bed bugs!! ~There were a couple of small windows missing so it got very loud in the morning ~Maid service is only done about once a week!! ~There is no dining or valet here. ~Car parking is $15/night and very limited PROS: ~The rooms are very small but have a kitchenette with microwave and fridge. ~Moped parking is free but limited. ~The staff is friendly, and they let you use their beach stuff for free! If you are traveling to Honolulu to *experience* Honolulu (rather than hang out in a hotel room) -- then save your money for a SNUBA expedition and stay here! The previous two reviews hit on the two factors that actually rate this a one star review, that it is inexpensive and the location is great. Having said that, this was not the pleasant, relaxing stay that we were looking forward to on our recent trip to Oahu. It seems like it should be a great gem; lanais on every room, a kitchenette to beat some of the crowds and expense of eating out, and an awesome location, but all that couldn't overcome the issues we had. The hotel is fine for the budget minded traveler looking to do Waikiki on the cheap, and still have a great location, but the cleanliness of this hotel leaves much to be desired. If I was still in my college years, I wouldn't have cared, but not when I'm bringing my wife here for a romantic getaway for the two of us. Starting off, the kitchenette, located within 3 feet of the bed was filthy, there was burned on grease, and the toaster oven provided looked like it had never been cleaned. The bathroom was even worse, there was mildew around the shower tile, and a big ring of mold up under the rim of the sink that you could see when you were sitting down to use the toilet. We were glad that we had extra cheap flip flops, because we both used them in the shower. Also worth mentioning, because we didn't know until we got there, was that they don't provide maid service unless you are staying longer than 5 nights. Their flyer said every 4 to 5 days, but we stayed 5 night/6 days and didn't have a maid enter our room once. Another issue was that they have glass louvred windows on all the windows except the sliding glass door to the lanai, which do nothing to dampen the noise from the street. This combined with the fact that they are working on the hotel directly to the south (I could have jumped from the edge of our hotel to the next, they're probably all of 6 feet from each other) made our vacation poor for sleeping in and relaxing. Every morning at 6:30am you can hear the construction crew coming onto the site and by 7am they have concrete saws and jackhammers going. After the first night, we bought some earplugs at Longs to help, and it was a slight improvement. I mean, I'm not coming to Waikiki to stay in my room and sleep all day, but I am on vacation and would like to dictate my own schedule, not have a construction crew decide when it's time for me to get up. If you are even slightly considering this place for the plusses I've mentioned, please do yourself a favor and call them and find out of the construction is completed on the building that faces Koa, just to the south. It's not worth considering this place if it is, and even once the construction is done, bare in mind that the cleanliness is sub par, and there is no ongoing cleaning. Also, they have raised the parking rates to $15 a night, which would be a 50% increase from what the traveler only 4 months ago noted. We paid $75 a night with the tax, but really ended up wishing we had stayed at a chain without a kitchenette and spent $50 more to have a better experience. Also, if you're looking for this type of place, consider a condo rental. I was trying to find something through vrbo.com, but couldn't find avaiabilities for our dates when I was looking only 6 weeks in advance, otherwise, that is the way we will go the next time we go to Hawaii, on any of the islands. read more

In my opinion the two best Waikiki hotels with the best views is Sheraton Waikiki and Waikiki Prince Hotel. Sheraton with certain lanais you will get an amazing view of both east and west shores. At the Waikiki Prince Hotel you have an unobstructed view of the west. The panoramic breath taking views will remind you how amazing Hawaii is. Overlooking the famous Ala Moana Beach Park and the west shores in the distant. Of course facing the views to the west you are treated to one of the best sunsets in the world. (dammit I need a Corona right now) I will officially call Waikiki Prince Hotel the local's getaway. The reason I say that is they have an very reasonable Kamaaina rate (locals discount). Regardless whether you are a tourist or local, this is a favorite for many. Located at the edge of Waikiki within walking distance of Ala Moana, you have the Waikiki feel with out the hustle and bustle. The ammenities will not blow you away but I think they have wonderful "aloha spirit" service. The hotel is some what outdated and I know they recently made some renovations. Like I said the hotel won't blow you away but the view will! Ummm did I mention buffet downstairs at Prince Court is pretty dam good. Bottomline, locals if you are looking for a staycation and not have the feel of concrete jungle Waikiki, I think Waikiki Prince Hotel is a great option. read more

Great for the price! This is a budget hotel/condo with no frills of a gym, spa, swimming pool, concierge, etc. It is a basic place with a very small kitchenette for budget conscious families/people that basically eat, sleep, and shower. If you want luxury then go to a resort or the super expensive hotels. If you are like us and do activities outside the hotel all day and just come back to wash up and sleep you'll like this place. Pros: -Less than 5 min. walk to beach -Free use of beach mats and boogie boards based on availability -Surprisingly clean room and bathroom -Coin op washer and dryer in parking area -Friendly front desk -Small kitchenette area with small fridge, microwave, stove, pots and pans. Cons: -Only 5 parking spaces. Not a problem when you go to Honolulu during non-peak times. -Sometimes construction can be annoying but not impossible to deal with but not the hotel's fault. This is not a review on my stay here at the Waikiki Prince Hotel, for I was not able to have one because of their online booking system. I booked my stay at Waikiki Prince because it seemed like a hidden gem; a low price and overall cleanliness (from what I've seen on Yelp). I spent a good amount of time reading reviews from multiple sites to make my choice in staying here. But boy, I wish someone would have warned me about their shitty online booking system. Their website is not the "usual" where you can view room availabilities, which I totally understand since it is a small hotel. So I booked my stay online, paying with PayPal, and then got a confirmation email along with a personal website account, which included a username/password to access to my stay's details such as the amount paid, room type, and dates of stay. With all of that information given, wouldn't you assume that your stay was confirmed?!? IT WAS NOT. I arrived to the lobby, ready to check in, and... My name was not on their guest list. I thought, ok this will be no problem, I have a confirmation number, confirmation account, and an email directly from info@waikikiprince.com confirming everything. With all documents shown, the employee said that my online booking did not go through the system. And since it didn't get through the system, it didn't get to the employees in making these accommodations. How can all of this happen when everything was confirmed?! I DON'T KNOW. Neither did the employee, who was the only one in the lobby. He dug through the computer and found that my payment did go through BUT my stay was not confirmed. WTF RIGHT? Since my online booking did not go "through", the employee made it clear that there was nothing that he could do. All rooms were already booked with "CONFIRMED" guests. All he could do was refund my money. And I stood there like okay..... Anything else?? My whole plan for that weekend revolved around my stay at their hotel, thus, my weekend was ruined! In common courtesy, I would have hoped this employee could direct me to the hotel manager (OR ANYONE) who could help resolve this issue and inconvenience. Though without that help, I felt the need to inform all others about my experience. I bet this would have been a stay that was well worth the price and cleanliness. Pretty good. For all the color and style Waikiki has to offer, this establishment is a little drab. Simple and clean but gray. The rates are cheap! $65/day for a double bed in a studio with a balcony. ($72 after tax) This location is two blocks from the center of Waikiki beach. Can't beat it. This is a great little gem in the heart of Waikiki. It's definitely not luxury, so don't expect that. However, the prices are reasonable and they let you checkout late, even after the office lobby is closed. Also, what I liked about the rooms are that they are clean and have clean sheets, towels, microwave, mini-fridge, a tv with basic cable, drawers to put your clothes, a small closet, and a small table inside with two chairs. On the outside, they have a nice balcony with two more chairs and a table to relax outside. No cockroaches or ants which is nice. The rooms are a bit on the small side, so if you need a lot of room, then this probably is not the place for you. Also, the beds are a bit small. If you are anywhere over 5'9" then you may not find the beds that comfortable. I didn't really mind the bed or room space since I am a short person. LOL. The wi-fi is free, but a bit spotty at times, so I would recommend using their business area downstairs or going to the nearby McDonalds to get Internet access instead. 3.5 stars.... doesn't quite make the 4 stars because of the out-dated ness of the room. Don't get me wrong, the room was nice, it was just set in the 70's still. What I loved: - TREMENDOUSLY great service. They helped with getting me and my wife a nicer room/view (especially when I told them we were there for our honeymoon) - the window OPENS UP.... it'll face the ocean/pier and it's lovely at sunset. - room came with slippers - good location - price is pretty cheap compared to other Waikiki (along the beach) hotels I did see a deal at the check-in counter that if you're staying in the hotel they have a discounted golf rate for their adjoining golf course. Comes with shuttle to the golf course, club rental, and a meal. I'd like to try that next time. read more

I stayed here for a business trip for a total of one week. The good : quiet, elegant, attentive staff, nice big separate bathroom. and a view that can't be beat. I like the multi-national mix of tourists that stay there. And even when the parking lot was full, the valet took my car and found a place for it - huge points for that. And when I asked for change for a twenty for tip money, they fan out a display of what appear to be brand new bills on a silver platter. The bad: The beds are way, way, way, overdue for replacement. Mine had a big rip in the side and you could see the stuffing. (found while checking for critters - good news, didn't find any!) And the comfort level of the bed is mediocre at best. Lastly, the room had a musty smell, possibly from that musty old bed. Yes, the decor is slightly outdated, but not cheap and cheesy. Somehow I like it - maybe because it's of my era! Pink and green marble - yes, I'm from the '80s! All in all, I would stay here again. Got the kamaaina rate, so it's well worth it to stay at such a well-located hotel with gracious staff and fabulous views. read more

This is 5 stars for the location and value, it's not perfect but there is everything you need with a kitchenette and a great staff. They have newer linens and towels, the beds are fine. While not updated everything is clean and functional; 90% of the time in the room is spent sleeping because you are in the middle of Waikiki and are out doing stuff. They have bodyboards, beach chairs and mats you can borrow for the day and provide beach towels as well. The WiFi at this hotel is probably better than 99% of any class of hotel you will ever stay in. Stairs and elevator are secured by keycard. This place is by far the best value on Waikiki, we had a great vacation and will be back. Make the most of your money and vacation and stay here. read more

When you think of a vacation, you imagine a luxury hotel,pools, fancy dining, an all inclusive resort. Well myself being a more activity oriented guy i was more interested in what Honolulu had to offer than the location of where i slept at night. Waikiki Prince is not one of these resort hotels. I very much enjoyed my stay, the staff was friendly, they had some equipment for use and the rooms were not exactly 5 star, but I never spent enough time in the room to make it worth more than what i paid for it. Waikiki prince's location is only a block from the famous Waikiki Beach, it is surrounded by restaurants, ABC stores, night life, surf board rental shops, and much more. This place is unmatched and i can say for sure that next time I'm in Honolulu that i will be staying here. TIP: if you do go on the balcony leave the door slightly open, I locked myself on the balcony, oops. read more

You really get what you pay for. In this case we saved the money and spent it on great local food and stuff from the swap meet. If you go in with the right state of mind, this is a very good deal. If you think you are getting away with paying less and getting the same fancy hotel others pay three times more for, you will be disappointed. Jenna at the front desk was super nice and gave us toys for the kids on the beach as well as towels. It's really close to the beach and a small place called Me's barbecue that serves great local breakfast, lunch and dinner for very reasonable prices. If you are looking for a base of operations just to sleep and shower, this is THE place to save the money. My only regret is not having that ocean facing lanai to drink on every night. read more

This place has good local rates. Clean and very accommodating. Offers a free shuttle to the middle of Waikiki! The staff very friendly. The only tiny imperfection was the mattress didn't have a fitted sheet just a regular sheet that was tucked in that kept coming undone. I would stay again. read more

The Waikiki Prince is an undiscovered little hotel at a great price hidden on a side street. During my recent trip to Hawaii, my girlfriend and I made a phone reservation for an economy room with two twin sized beds and a kitchenette for $65 a night. We also paid for a parking spot which is an additional $10 per night. My plane landed at 5pm and it took us an hour to get from HNL to the hotel through Waikiki traffic. We arrived just after their 6pm closing time so we followed the signs to the resident manager's room to get our keys for the night and checked in the next morning. The room was clean and there were no funky smells. Whether by accident or due to lack of availability, our room actually came with an upgrade to two double sized beds--an extra $5/night value! The kitchenette was great. It had a gas stove and oven and was furnished with pots, pans, bowls, utensils and a spatula. There was even liquid dish soap provided! You'll need your own ingredients like cooking oil though. Those looking for more things to do in the hotel may be a little disappointed as there is no gym or swimming pool on the premises. The lack of maid service for stays less than five or so nights can be a downside for some, but I felt more comfortable knowing no one would be going through our room when we were out. For those staying longer durations, they do provide weekly room cleaning. We brought our dirty towels down to the front desk every day to exchange for fresh ones. The staff is friendly and they also let you borrow beach towels and beach mats to use at the beach which is a three minute walk from the hotel. The environmental insulation is pretty thin. During the night, we heard loud scooters/motorcycles revving their engines. Also, street light shines through the jalousie windows and reflects off the hallway mirror onto the bed while we're trying to sleep. We had to hang a towel to block the light. The parking garage is on the side of the hotel where you have to drive through a narrow, one car width alley into a lot with four marked parking spots. Getting double-parked and boxed in was a concern every day, though it fortunately never happened. We had a great experience at the Waikiki Prince and they will definitely be on the top of my list of hotels the next time I'm in the Waikiki area. read more

I came here for a hotel party once. The room was surprisingly big with a living room with two couches, a big bathroom, and an even bigger bedroom with two beds. I think we were able to fit around 50 people in there. The beds were really comfortable and the view was nice as it overlooked the ocean. Everything was going good until we got kicked out for multiple noice complaints. read more

I got the 5 night deal. I really liked the staff and location. The room was ok but it is not why I came here. It is much nicer than the other hotel next to it. Sometimes it smells like fish from the restaurant across the street. The bad thing about it was there is a car rental shop next to it. They will rev their engines all day long and I have seen them drinking beers at noon. At about 5pm their other coworkers and friends show up and starting drinking beers still when customers are returning their cars. They barbecue for many hours feet from the cars and the smoke comes into our hotel room. They get drunk and scream a lot and even when I went out on the patio they didnt stop or even look at me. A dog barks a lot too and they play games that slamming dominoes to gamble on all night. Four out of five nights they were there. I saw many of the men peeing on the wall right in front of me and it was going on the cars and under them. I was too tired for my early tour the next morning because they were out there talking until 12pm. This hotel is half empty all week in the busy season. I would not return but if you cant find another place you can get it read more
