Waikiki Market is a very nice grocery store just a few minutes from Waikiki Beach. Please note that some of your regular grocery items might be on the pricier side compared to other stores around here, but the quality of ready-to-eat food like their poke, sushi and hot meals is definitely worth stopping by! I came here because I was a little tired of the ABC stores around the area and just wanted to try something different. The store itself is pretty small but very nice and as soon as you walk in, you are greeted by the amazing staff. They have a really nice selection of ready-to-eat meals, which I would recommend, and they also have a huge selection of wine and beer. This market is located on the second floor, I walk up the stairs and I find this cute, organized, and well-stocked store with plenty of snacks to eat. I had a mini routine in Waikiki where I'd walk here and eat poke for breakfast. Why not?! I'm in Waikiki! There's cut fruit, poke, canned beans, drinks, wine, cheese, coffee, chocolates, a lot of things you can expect from a small grocery store. There are apartments above Waikiki Market so there's things you'll find to whip up a meal or grab a quick bite to eat. I did the latter. The workers here are super nice. The store is a clean, well lighted gourmet grocery with an abundance of takeout options from the poke bar stacked with at least 7 varieties to the malasada bakery display, decked out in powdered sugar. There's a large and varied vino section, but you may find many of the wines cheaper elsewhere like at nearby ABC. Staff have plenty of aloha spirit yet keep things moving effectively to get you through the shopping process. We wanted to stop by Waikiki Market to grab a few things for a beach day, and ended up being way more impressed than expected. We picked up a half-pound of Hawaiian-style spicy poke, which was super fresh with a nice kick of heat, and it paired perfectly with the furikake wonton chips we already had. Honestly such a great snack combo. We also grabbed a sushi tempura roll and were surprised by how good it was since we saved it for the next day for an early morning snorkel sesh: it was fresh, crispy, and filled with big chunks of shrimp, easily better than what some sit-down restaurants serve. The crispy Japanese sweet potato drizzled with a bit of honey was incredibly comforting and homey, and a nice balance of sweet and savory. We also tried the chicken katsu, which had a light, crisp breading and came with fluffy white rice topped with furikake. The side potato salad was refreshing with nice, chunky pieces of potato and not overly heavy. Perfect spot to grab quality food quickly before heading out to do other day-long activities. Stopped by on a Wednesday night around 45 minutes prior to closing and was able to get poke - there were a few choices left but the person who was working hooked it up with hella samples and even lots of poke when we ordered the poke bowls. We enjoyed the friendliness of the employee, the fish was fresh and they definitely packed our bowl with lots of fish and toppings. It can be a little difficult to get a proper Hawaiian Poké fix in Waikiki. There are no Foodlands and unless you've got a rental car, you're kind-of SOL. Sure there's Maguro Bros and a few other mainstays; but some of the Waikiki retailers have fallen into the California Poké trap where it's got carrots and edamame and quinoa mixed in. I'm sorry, but THAT is not poké. That is a salad. I'm talking Ahi Limu, Shoyu, Pipikaula, Spicy A'u with two scoops rice. You can get this at Waikiki Market, just a short walk from Kahanamoku Beach. They're fully stocked and the aunties at the counter are happy to talk story like you're in Temura Market. Auntie even gave me extra limu! There's fresh poi. There's fresh spam musubi at 7-Eleven prices, all the local drinks, and even really nice lei (though way more than you'll pay in Chintatown). There's this nice little walkway with tables that overlooks Ka'iulani Park, and I ended up just eating there because it was (still Waikiki though) quiet, there was an excellent breeze, very few birds, and a nice view. Only minus one star because it's def more expensive due to the location, and I think the poké could've been more finely chopped, but beggars can't be choosers, ya know? read more

This is a beautiful little market in the heart of Waikiki. They have great pizza and breads. They have a great Hawaiian deli. I got some smoked Aji tuna and crackers there and it was perfect for a beach picnic. Their prices are a little better than ABC markets. And it's beautiful inside it was a real treat. My credit card accidentally fell out of my wallet while I was there. I got all the way back to my hotel and realize that it had fallen out. When I got back, they had it waiting for me at the customer service counter. And they said that they were Willing to mail it back to me in the states if I didn't come back and get it. I don't know why Waikiki Market doesn't come up more often in foodie convos in this area. The prepared food section is massive with musubis, wings, local plates, baked goods, we probably stood there way too long trying to decide. The market itself is super clean and has a Whole Foods kind of vibe. Upstairs, there's an outdoor patio with wraparound seating. Bring your food out there for a chill dinner. The street view is great, and the vibe is super relaxed, whether you're by yourself or with a group. Salt & Vinegar Chicken Wings, Mac Salad, Rice- We built our own local plate, and those wings were next-level. Fried crispy outside, juicy inside, with a bold vinegar punch and the right amount of salt. The rice and mac salad were the perfect balance. We've been to Hawai'i plenty of times, and I'd come back just for those wings. Garlic Cheese Breadsticks- Crispy on the outside, soft and cheesy on the inside, totally satisfying. Central shopping... With a lot of options to grab something to eat and shop for souvenirs it does get quite a bit overwhelming and exhausting to decide on a short amount of time but on my first visit to Waikiki Market awhile back when they first opened I was quite surprised to see the options they have here as for us locals are obvious that it's by Foodland but with a slight twist as not many are here for the basic grocery items and do love the vibe as they give us some suggestions for gifts or seasonal goods. As many grocery stores are offering some grab and go meal items it's nice to see them offer that here as well without going to restaurants as this informal option is nice with not just poke bowl but bakery and various plate lunches as well, as I had a bit of celebration here as well I do love that it's possible as our busy lives do need take moments for various needs. Located on the second level of the Lilia Waikiki (apartment building), this grocery store has a rather challenging parking situation. 12/26/25 OK, this is a quick rather maybe descriptive update. I don't know if I said this before, but I do believe that the pizza has improved drastically. I have now included meat into my diet from the last four months I was pescatarian and vegetarian for about a year and a half but I went here and had their meat lover and a margarita pizza slice. I do believe that one of the things that I want to touch on about their pizza hopefully it doesn't change from here -- and hopefully someone from in that bake shop is reading this. "Don't change your bake time" . This pizza is perfect. It has that slight very, very slight hint of a crunch when you bite down on the portion of the bread that the pizza is made of and then it's very soft. It's much better than what it was before. This is exactly how I like to eat my pizza and if they continually make it this way then you will see me coming back again and again I had bought it from the last time, but I believe this time it's much better Plus it has a very enticing look to it where sometimes you do see something delicious but when you eat it, it has a different taste & or texture--- this top off both ends. It looks great you bite into it and it's perfect. It's supposed to be like what you see is what you get and so if you're going to get pizza from this place, it's worth it 9.99 for two slices Very large very perfect for lunch and or dinner. I highly recommend the pizza from the Waikiki market even if you don't get a meat lover slice or margarita maybe if you got the HAPA which is the chicken and or maybe the other offering of looks like it could've been just a pepperoni but --The bread they used and how it was baked the time taken put in for bake time or cook time of the pizza itself is amazing. I was strolling around the block and stumbled upon this market, and I was impressed. They offer a wide variety of options from snacks and grab and go items to places where you can order food. I picked up their chicken katsu curry and a pound of spicy Hawaiian ahi poke for a quick beach snack. The katsu was still somewhat crispy and paired well with the curry and rice. The spicy Hawaiian ahi poke was much better than I expected, with a stronger kick that went perfectly with the chips I ate it with. Definitely one of my favorite convenience stores. read more

Over priced horrible selections. The produce leaves a lot to be desired. It tries to be whole foods without the actual service.

We've been here at night and during the day. The downstairs bar is generally packed at any hour. Great place to grab a snack or shop for missing items you want to bring back home or to the hotel. The morning of my visit was met with a breakfast platter that included eggs, sausage and fried rice. Something our hotel could easily improve on. The food here is fantastic and the auntie behind the counter was everything and then some. Certainly a short conversation to talk story and joke about how everyone (so far) thinks I'm local but I'm not made its rounds and by the end of our laugh my food was ready and tagged. The market is open and airy both indoors and out. The restrooms are easily accessed by walking passed the restaurant and turning left into the hallway. Great place that is tucked away on Kuhio. I'll keep on coming back. Sometimes the convenience of location outweighs hauling my butt to Foodland! haha! read more

Discovered Waikiki Market during a staycation and thought it was a great addition to the neighborhood. Yes, prices are what you would expect in the heart of Waikiki, but it provides much needed options and assortment. As some have stated, it's an elevated Foodland with hot food options, a restaurant, and bar. Where else in Waikiki, can you go get any grocery item, a vast selection of poke and wine, a decent floral assortment. I've tried their pizza slice twice now. They'll warm it for you. Came here for poke on our last day and was so pleasantly surprised! The poke station started at 10am on the Sunday we went and there was such a great variety of different types of poke / marinade. It wasn't very busy so the staff actually allowed us to sample some before picking out what we wanted. I got the rainbow poke and furikake tuna and both were incredibly fresh and delicious. First time here and grabbed some poke for lunch and sat upstairs on the open area watching the street scene on Kuhio. For $16 I felt the price point was spot on and my garlic poke was pretty good but still prefer Foodland's poke. Combo bowl was approximately $24. Note: no alcohol is permitted upstairs as my son found out after he cracked open a can of beer purchased from the Market but was told one can drink downstairs at the bar area. So after finishing our poke bowls, we walked downstairs so my son could finish his can of beer and were told by the bar that he was not allowed to drink here. The person who spoke to us told me that there has been a lot of miscommunication between the Market and the bar area. The older gentleman who works at the Market needs to communicate better and not be terse when speaking to customers - definitely needs a refresher on how to talk to people along with better body language as he stated you can drink downstairs but never said that the bar and market were 2 separate businesses. 3 stars for my poke and 1 star for the beer fiasco upstairs. read more

It's located on the second floor of the Lilia building, and while parking can be a little tricky (it is Waikiki so you'll be paying to park anywhere). The poke bar is stocked with fresh ahi, salmon, and hamachi, and the plate lunch section is packed with local comfort foods. There's even a malasada station with a bunch of different flavors. The bakery section has flatbreads and pastries. There's a casual outdoor seating area overlooking Kuhio Ave to eat and you can hear the live music from downstairs! They have a solid selection of fresh produce, snacks and drinks. Prices are a little higher than what you'd find outside of Waikiki, but it's not ridiculous. read more

So apparently Food Pantry rebranded itself after this high rise sprouted up in Waikiki. Boyyyy do I miss the old food pantry. This is nothing but like the old food pantry. The food pantry offered discounts and felt like a neighborhood grocery store. This is called Waikiki market and it sells alllll the things you'd find at Foodland, with an extra bougie flair, but it's NOT FOODLAND. Don't be like me and buy Foodland gift cards and expect to be able to use them here. Nope. It's not associated with Foodland. You'd perhaps think that "Kahala mkt" would therefore be associated with Waikiki Market... again, you'd be wrong. Because Kahala Mkt is a foodland. And Waikiki Market is not. Seems sketchy right? I know I'm confused and I'm sure other people would be too. Only tourists shop here and prices are high. You're better off going to the real Foodland or Kahala Mkt or stopping at Times or Safeway. I even prefer Don Quijote over this place. Heck, there's even a Target across the street now that I'd probably go to before coming back here. read more

Stopped in around 1pm on a Sunday and felt like it was the right place to step off Kuhio and relax for a little bit. Upstairs functions as a kind of neighborhood market- part deli, part bakery, part "oh nice, they have milk." Poke and malasadas, vegetables and condiments you didn't know you needed but suddenly want. The selection felt intentional without being precious. Would shop here for souvenirs if I was in the market. Since my three-year-old and I were just drifting through the day, we kept it simple- ice cream for him, coffee for me. The coffee was self-serve drip with the usual creamer packets. It was exactly what drip coffee is supposed to be at 1pm. It also functioned exactly as drip coffee is supposed to at 1pm. We chilled on the 2nd floor lanai for a while, which had a few open tables, shade, and enough space to sit, recharge, and let time behave itself for a minute. Comfortable, calm, no pressure to move along. We left in better shape than we arrived and made a mental note to come back and try the restaurants downstairs. read more

I came to Waikiki Market almost every day when I stayed at Agua Aloha Surf Hotel around the block. When I arrived at HNL Airport, I pulled up my Yelp app and trying to locate the cheapest restaurant to go near my hotel. I already knew how expensive everything is in Hawaii. For some reason, Waikiki Market kept showing up. I thought it's a market, but I need a restaurant. Not until I actually visited Waikiki Market to see why it shows up as the cheapest restaurant. Well, to be fair, it's the less expensive place to grab a quick bite at the food stands inside. Gee, I was here at least twice a day to get something. I felt like the cashiers already knew me. lol. My first trip was to get those 2 big jugs of water. Because I want easy access to drinking water at my hotel room. Next, I bought some delicious locally grown Kau Oranges. These looked ugly but they were sweet and juicy. I brought my friend to try poke next day. He felt in love with the island hospitality and those food vendors. I couldn't take him there anymore because he just won't leave. hahaha From way back when I lived in Waikiki, this location used to be a tiny supermarket in front of a bus stop. I think it was called Food Pantry. I remember I often shop there to get something quick because I was too lazy to drive to Foodland or Daiei. Also, around the corner was Perry's Smorgy Restaurant, where me and my hubby loved to dine there on special days. Now, the land is being used for a high-rise condo called Lilia Waikiki.
