Other than that you gotta use an app (?) QR code to pay for your ticket, not sure if i like that aspect of it. They give off such a local family run chill vibe. They weren't super busy...kind of dead actually on a late friday afternoon. Had enough space to put our stroller on the side and they let us sit and eat with our doggo. They have good looking bentos and I feel like they excel at those. I ordered a burger and fries and my yelp bff ordered french toast. Been here a couple times. Tried a couple of items on the menu. Nice local spot ambiance. Those of you visiting, it's that mom and pop local feel. Good comfort, local and hang over food IMO. Service is ok but they get busy so be patient. Oli's is very chill. Sort of like a halfway between fast casual and a greasy spoon. The spam musubi is delicious, and the loco moco is solid--very tasty with white rice. VERY REASONABLE PRICES FOR DECENT FOOD. I think that this place is good for the students at UH because they provide good value. I was once a student at UH and as we all know students don't have much money so I would always try to find places that I could afford to eat at. That being said I tried several items like the hamburger steak, salt and pepper fried chicken and the kalbi. My favorite was the fried chicken. The hamburger steak is rated number one by yelp but I think Asahi Grill is better ... but Asahi Grill charges about $20 as opposed to $10 at Oli's. The kalbi was flavorful but it was pretty tough. The fried chicken was a little dry but the skin was nice and crispy. The fried rice was ok but not outstanding. All in all I think the food would rate three stars but I added an extra star for the low prices. read more

Had a medical procedure and couldn't since all loops, so Ma picked up food for me for breakfast and lunch. Breakfast burrito - I'm not usually a fan of potato in my burritos, but it was pretty good! Tasty burrito. I could only eat half and was still super full. The cilantro sauce was super garlicky which I looooove, but needed some salt and a kick. Furikake salmon - Fed half to baby...she grinded. It was tasty. Had a sauce btu I didn't use it since didn't need it. Aw .... I hate to lower my score but the workers were down right obnoxious on my last visit and my food was cold. They were sitting at the tables closest to the wall and speaking about a bday party they all attended for "Chris" I believe. It was so loud between them and the music I couldn't wait to be done. The Peanut Butter Stuffed French toast was absolutely divine. Perfectly crispy on the outside, fluffy banana cream on the inside and drizzled with a rich, gooey, and indulgent maple peanut butter that took my taste buds on a journey. It was comfort food at its finest! I also tried their garlic chicken, which was cooked to perfection - tender and juicy inside and crispy on the outside. The house burger looked a little small and honestly it didn't look too good without any lettuce or tomato or anything. The fries tasted pretty good, I enjoyed them and they gave a good amount. I've been here twice in the same month because from the first visit I just couldn't try everything that I wanted. Even from two visits, I still want to go back to try the other things on the menu. On my first visit, I went with two friends, which I highly recommend everyone do so you can try more items on the menu. I wish we had just gone with the garlic chicken, but it was good that we at least tried both to know what they are like. The salt n pepper fried chicken was pretty bland. On my second visit to Oli's, I was by myself. I had been wanting to try the breakfast burrito. It's a hefty baby of food being that it is stuffed with your choice of meat (I chose Portuguese sausage), eggs, French fries and cheddar cheese. It comes with the spicy cilantro sauce that also comes with the philly cheese egg rolls. I only ate half and took the rest home to eat later. Service was outstanding both times I visited. Super friendly workers who are patient and helpful for those first-timers like us who were a little overwhelmed by the everything looks delicious menu. I saw a dollar bill taped to the wall. I've driven past this place many times and heard great things about it. There's a lot of parking in the lot with the entrance off University. It's hard to find parking on the ground floor, but there's almost always parking on the roof. We got our parking validated and didn't have to pay. I got the loco moco, which came with mac salad on the side. It was very flavorful but nothing crazy. I liked how light the mac salad was. Service was exceptional. I didn't know they had a student discount, but the waitress asked if I had my UH student ID and offered a 10% discount. That was very kind of her to ask! The food was also taking a little long, but the waitress was apologetic and explained that there was big order that came in. Another win for our Mo'ili'ili community! Delicious local and breakfast plates (kids love it, too!), reasonably priced, add in friendly service and ample parking... that's a recipe for return customers like me! Location is in the Pucks Alley area where Curry House used to be. $2 parking is available- enter right after the restaurant entrance on University Avenue. Patrons can park on the ground floor as well as the upper levels. Both their Garlic Chicken and Salt & Pepper Chicken are delicious. My husband will not deviate from the Garlic Chicken- Korean marinated chicken thighs friend in potato starch. Da Grub - I didn't do anything radical for breakfast, as I just got a plain stack of Pancakes, with a side of Scrambled Eggs. My friend ended up getting the Breakfast Burrito which consisted of - one choice meat - (Portuguese Sausage, Link Sausage, Spam, or Bacon), Eggs, French Fries, Cheddar Cheese, & a Spicy Cilantro Sauce. I must say it was pretty good breakfast grubbage, but as I was looking over the menu, I started spyin' on da Garlic Chicken Plate! We were in the Mōʻiliʻili neighborhood because my husband suggested having lunch at Betty's Burgers Joint (BBJ) again, but we found that BBJ was still temporarily closed for renovation. I suggested trying Tanto Gyoza & Ramen Bar, but he had his heart set on American or local flavored cuisines. So I asked him to take the first available street parking stall off University Avenue to make a decision instead of driving around aimlessly. That's when we said in unison, "Let's try Oli's Kitchen," which we saw promoted on a local television program in late December and read rave reviews from fellow Yelp friends. Unfortunately, we didn't find street parking, but we remembered from Oli's Kitchen's television promotion that 1-hour FREE parking is available in the Puck's Alley parking lot. Upon entry, two males behind the counter heartily greeted us and welcomed us to sit at any vacant table. From other Yelp reviews and photos, we knew this business offered dine-in service, so we cozied up to a table for two. We reviewed the menu and recommended dishes from Yelp friends before entry. So, when one of the friendly males brought us menus and asked if we wanted any beverages other than iced water, we requested two glasses of water and were ready to place our lunch orders. FOOD: -Salt and Pepper Fried Chicken: My husband ordered this entree since he loves deep-fried foods. The boneless and crispy potato starch-crusted deep-fried chicken pieces were crunchy and tasty, but I think he expected more flavor and a lighter crust as in typical Cantonese salt and pepper fried dishes. Also, the fried chicken pieces seemed a bit dry even though the pieces appeared to have been made to order. He also was disappointed with what seemed to be a smaller portion of the entree than he'd seen in other photos. $15.20 (listed on menu)) or $15.73 (price on receipt) -Garlic Chicken: I ordered Oli's version of Korean Fried Chicken, which owes its flavor to its seasoned marinade and sauce. I liked the flavors and textures of my entree and joked with my husband that his love for deep-fried foods must be rubbing off on to me. Being so close to UH Manoa, food from Oli's Kitchen is now the catering of choice for many of the events I've been to at school. After eating many of their bentos and cheeseburgers, I can firmly say that the food is just ok. The garlic chicekn did not hold up well in the packaging and was pretty soggy--even though I had just picked up the food. I thought that the flavors was similar to a Zippy's korean fried chicken, but just not as good. The cheeseburger was nothing special, it didn't have much of a char on the patty. The bread was also a little tough. When I'm eating a cheeseburger, I want a juicy patty, but unfortunately Oli's cheeseburger did not deliver that. Overall, Oli's Kitchen isn't the worst, but it doesn't stand out amongst the hundreds of other local joints. Service was great. Man... I don't want to catch a lot of flack for this review... but the food was just ok. We got the breakfast burrito and loco moco. I ordered a hot tea and water. "Hot" tea water came out warm but not hot. Burrito looked sooo good but the flavor and texture was just lacking. Needed salt, spices and just something else that was not there. The cilantro sauce was ok but a little too sweet for my taste. Again... I adore an aioli - especially a cilantro, verde, spicy, savory mayo. This was not it. Loco Moco - basic - delicious - hard to mess up... The rice was mushy and overcooked - the gravy has no seasoning. Eggs - cooked nicely over easy as requested. But the rest left me wanting for more. Will definitely come back to try the French toast and waffles. But so far not as impressed as I thought I'd be based on the social media hype and my own taste buds. read more

BEST customer service, solid, quality food! No nonsense set up, just walk to the counter and order, then have a seat and wait. We love breakfast (ok, I mean *I* love breakfast) so that's one of the first things we had here. Obviously I had the loco moco, which was perfect. I am a stickler for the doneness of an over easy egg and these folks did not disappoint. I'm also a stickler for an authentically housemade gravy and they came through for that too. Win! I do wish they had a Benedict offering as it's one of my favorite breakfast foods, but I'm not going to get picky when what I have had has been so good. Since then we've ordered a couple of other things that have gotten the two thumbs up from my family, but I haven't tasted those things myself. Parking is sometimes free and sometimes not because these folks are located in Puck's Alley. IYKYK, amiright? Just remember to bring your ticket in for validation. Or get takeout! I've heard of Oli's Kitchen but never tried them until a friend got them for lunch today. I was excited since I was super hangry! I got hamburger steak with the fresh green mixed salad. The hamburger steak was cooked perfectly but needs a little more seasoning to. Don't be shy;) The salad was refreshingly crisp with the diced/chopped onions dipped in ranch dressing. We also tied the Philly cheese egg rolls served with spicy cilantro dressing. I tried the rolls with and without the sauce. I think it's perfect on its own. The spicy cilantro dressing can be mixed with the ranch for added flavor with the green salad. And we got free mac salad. Who doesn't like freebies?! I know I do! :) I can't say much about the service and the ambiance of the restaurant since I didn't go myself. But I'll definitely check it out in person next time and do a follow up review. read more

Came here with friends- it was a 1st visit - found the entrance to parking confusing as there isn't a sign to help you locate the parking entrance! If you frequent the area you may know how it all works but if you haven't it may mean a trip around the block since it looks like they only have one entry & exit! Walking into the restaurant-the staff greater us - seated us with menu' & utensils and took our drink order - friendly staff Hamburger & onions with gravy - served with Mac salad & rice - they mix their own hamburger and use a seasoning that we didn't care for so won't be ordering it again Kalbi plate was really good - meat marinated well and grilled perfectly Spicy fried chicken was the bomb and will be back for more! On a side note their Mac salad tasted sour next time it's the green salad for me! Staff & service is top notch the food has a few hit & misses but we'll be back to try them again read more

Parking can be a little difficult depending on the day that you go because it's located in pucks alley, but I was lucky enough to get parking right behind the building. The workers were friendly and quick, water tasted very weird- like you can tell it was tap water but that's okay. The ambiance is very homey and you get that local vibe. Started out with the philly cheesecake bites, I wasn't a big fan of the cilantro sauce because it was too spicy for my liking and it didnt really pair that well with the rolls. I think cilantro ranch would've been a great pairing, but on its own the rolls were good. The stuffed peanut butter French toast was super heavy, but it was delicious. The peanut butter isn't the typically Skippy, so I thought it was something homemade... but it was good. Not a lot of Stuffing though, so if you're the type that likes a lot of Stuffing then it may not be for you. But the loco moco and kalbi? DELICIOUS. 10 out of 10. You get a good portion, it's perfectly seasoned and the patty on the loco moco definitely taste homemade. I would come back to try more of their actual savory entrees! read more

I'm so glad I made it out here! Service was great and food was amazing! Parking is also free in the back for the first hour. I'm a sucker for avo toast, but their toast was unique and I loved the flavor combination! There was a GOOD amount of avocado, and pesto, cheese, balsamic, and tomatoes all worked so well. It was just a flavor burst with every bite. I also really wanted to try the peanut butter banana stuffed French toast but didn't want the whole thing, so I was able to order it as a side (upgraded the side order French toast) and it was AMAZING. The peanut butter was not too sweet and had amazing flavor and the banana cream in the middle was sooo good. I would highly recommend both dishes! read more

Delicious breakfast spot with very reasonable prices. The whole family liked their selection, and the coffee was strong and good. We tried the following: 1) 2 egg breakfast (4/5) 2) breakfast burrito (4/5) (loved the spicy sauce!) 3) sweet bread French toast (4/5) 4) lox and bagel 4/5 The staff was super friendly. We sat in the back room where we were able to talk to some of the cooks which made it fun. Parking is free but a little tricky to find. Just past the Betty's Burger restaurant there is a lot where you take a ticket. First hour is free. Check out Oli's for a great breakfast for a fair price. read more
