I stumbled across Holoholo Cafe & Market when I needed some supplies. Realized that it was a market and cafe. Location is easy to find, very convenient, and most items generic needed are available for purchase here. The cafe has limited seating available inside. I've gotten my lattes and cappuccinos here every day and sometimes, twice a day. Very kind staff and reasonably priced. Wait time has never been too long, between 10-15 minutes. Cute like shop. We were just looking for a basic breakfast..... a bagel or breakfast burrito. But most places have kaluha pork in everything. So we came here for a bagel, make sure you get an extra cream cheese. The blueberry scone was not good, I took a bite and tossed it. This was one of the more popular markets on Waikiki, and best thing is that they're open early! They serve the typical spam musubis and hot food in the morning, so I made sure to grab some bright and early. They have a coffee bar as well, where I was able to grab a vanilla latte. Grocery, food, and trinkets options are around the same, price and selection, as ABC stores. However, this review is for the hot food selection and the cafe. If you get there early enough, then you can find breakfast croissant sandwiches, breakfast bentos, spam musubi, etc in their hot food section. Around $5-$6. The cafe barista has real aunty kine vibes and there's much more of a coffee and drink selection than the other cafe options nearby. Drinks are around $4. No lunch counter from that I could tell, they do have a coffee bar that serves beer and wine. It is attached to the Hilton Garden Inn lobby. Turkey bacon breakfast burrito here is the bomb! Most well-wrapped burrito I've ever had - not too much of the filling falls out when you bite it, so it's a quick and filling on-the-go meal. This cafe and market was connected to the Hilton Garden Inn which is where I stayed, so it was my breakfast spot all week (breakfast was included with my reservation). My breakfast was a choice of a drink from their two left menus (huge variety) and either a hot breakfast (wraps/burritos) or cold breakfast (yogurt, fruit, etc.). Every morning, I got an iced macadamia latte (my go-to in Hawaii) which came in a large size and a turkey bacon burrito which was the perfect size (smaller than most which was plenty for me) and super flavorful. The woman that was there every morning (I think her name was Rika) was super friendly and funny. The food/drink came out quick and I was able to sit at the tables in the market and enjoy my breakfast. The market itself, its like a mini supermarket with a huge ABC store influence (lots of souvenirs). There is a small hot food to-go area, I wish that was bigger and had more options. I would just go across the street to Mitsuwa to get a larger variety of to-go hot foods. read more

I stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in Waikiki when I'm in Oahu and am a regular visitor at HoloHolo for snacks, drinks, and gift items. The prices are comparable to the ABC store. I like the fruit and vegetable cups, and they have lots of nice things to pick up and take home - soaps, coffee, cookies, jam, etc. It's a nice quick stop before work or to pick up things for the hotel. read more

I wanted to play tourist so bad that I actually wore a pineapple shirt and carried a big floppy Hawaiian print bag. All that was missing was the straw hat, the sandals with the socks and the white nose sunscreen. As I walked by this store, the pineapple tote bag and all-things-pineapple reeled me into the store, much to the delight of my husband who was on the verge of a massive kanak attack after eating at Duke's. He slumped off into the back of the store where there were lots of clean, modern looking chairs for their cafe area (completely empty). I want to give a huge kudo (kudos?) to the buyer of this store. The merchandise is a shopper's paradise! All manner of things can be found here: gifts, pineapple shark plushies, make up, lip balm, Hawaiian soaps infused with good-smelling fruits, snacks, candies, jewelry, foodstuff and even the cutest booze! They have all your typical snack/drinks with the addition of some fresh prepackaged items like yogurt parfait, sandwiches, sushi roles, etc. They do have a super cute touristy section with some locally made items you can snag if you're visiting or want some hawaii touristy gear. There is a small coffee shop that serves the typical coffee bar menu, nothing extraordinary but it does the job. The best part of this cute corner store is how friendly the staff is.. they always greet you with a smile and say thank you! Though I only frequent this place when I need a quick something to go, I'm glad it's there for anything I may need. read more

Holoholo Cafe and Market is located on Kuhio Avenue. The store is within walking distance in the Diamond Head direction of Aqua Ohia Hotel and pass Marukame Udon. While my mom was in the hotel room I opted to go to the store to see what type of merchandises, snacks, or drinks that the establishment had to offer. I browsed through the clean store and walked towards the cafe section where I seen some available tables. I seen a sign with Bubbies mochi ice cream on top of the counter. I asked the male employee if they had any lychee mochi ice cream in stock and he said that they were out of it. I then explored the rest of the store and spotted the packaged beverages. I grabbed a bottle of Pepsi 20oz and Diet Pepsi 20oz. I took the two bottles up to the register to purchase. I waited a couple minutes since the female employee was helping another customer. The employee greeted me friendly when it came to my turn. I paid for my transaction and left the premises. Holoholo Cafe and Market sells alcohol as well as tobacco. Holoholo's chinese chicken salad from the Pearlridge farmer's market is incredible! I wish I could make this a weekly treat. I've had two now and both were great, although the first included some sprout toppings which was extra special. It is fresh & crisp with a generous portion of sliced chicken on top and dressing on the side. In the salad, Holoholo includes herbs, unique flavor combinations, unexpected specially-marinated diced chicken (or is it pork belly?), and sprouts. I love that the salad has a variety of spices and textures. It is a great deal too- about $10 for 2 meals' worth of food for me. The diced chicken is flavored differently than the sliced chicken on top and really sets this salad apart. It also helps make this a super filling meal, way worth the reasonable price. read more

Probably an ok place to buy the odd groceries and a bottle of wine but on what we experienced today it's a disaster to eat in here. It's hard to know where to start as it was such a keystone cops/Fawlty Towers type experience. First off, the server queried the $50 note we tried to use. We'd got that note from our bank at home. While we offered to use our credit card instead she insisted on engaging her manager about the matter. That cost 10 minutes over nothing when the manager decided we weren't actually trying to pass forged currency and accepted it. Next, trying to order was utterly excruciating and involved the server telling us which of our desired items she could or couldn't provide. It was like the cheese shop sketch from Monty Python. So much was unavailable. That took a further 10-15 minutes. The food took ages to come out even though most of it appeared to be prepackaged and then microwaved (we could hear the ding from the microwave in the kitchen). Eventually it came out. The fried rice was ok with a nice flavour. The poke bowl wasn't a poke bowl but rather a very very small poke plate. The breakfast burrito was bland and utterly unmemorable. The pizza was soggy from the microwaving. The caesar salad was a very basic and fairly tasteless salad. We didn't dare have coffee here. We'd lost enough of our lives and our hard earned money already. You're better than this. The food is very ordinary here. The service very very ordinary as well. You've been warned. read more

Convenient cafe located within the Hilton hotel lobby. They have a range of souvenirs, snacks, and other delectables. The cafe also serves coffee and bubble tea. I advise against ordering bubble tea. My sister, her girlfriend, and each ordered different flavors, and they were all bad. And the tapioca itself wasn't cooked all the way. This cafe does have good seating, and also serves happy hour. It's probably a good place to go if you want decently priced drinks but don't want to wander far from the hotel. read more

Honestly, very hard to post a review. I honestly expected a lot more, but, maybe I came on a bad day? Pass here frequently, wanted a small bite to eat. I heard they had premade meals so decided this was the day. Upon entering, very clean and organized with a very happy staff. The preheated meals, there were only 3 options, with plenty of room for many many more. I wasn't interested in any, so looked around. They have a coffee area, I'm not sure if they weren't serving that this day or if just no one was there to purchase coffee... Idk. They had 4 tv screens above, I'm guessing it was actually the coffee menu, but they were turned off. It did seem pricey to me, but, they are in the heart of Waikiki, so expected. They do have a section for gifts and I loved they had Hawaii Hello Kitty (my niece is going to love it). I feel it's definitely tourists steered, but that's ok. They have a very small selection or beer, wine, and liquor (but, on vacation, most aren't very picky). Definitely a great place to pick up so food for your hotel because of the location. Brand spanking new restaurant and convenience store. Unfortunately unhelpful service and fresh from the microwave food marred the experience. Approached the counter, waited about a minute to be greeted. Ordered meatloaf and a diet Coke. Clerk had to ask microwave operator if they had the meatloaf, one of two entrees on the menu. They did have it. Was told I could walk over to Coke cooler to get my diet Coke. I did. Then waited while another customer was rung up. Paid and waited about two minutes. Microwave operator delivered food and utensils. Took a bite and felt cool mashed potatoes slither down my palate. Stuck my finger in to confirm what I knew, they were below room temperature cool. Took them back to counter--nothing a little more nuking couldn't fix :-) Got everthing back including the wilted (from being miceowaved) garnish--not hot, but at least above room temperature. The best part of the meal was the sauce. It added a tangy zip to the meatloaf, something that was unexpected and pleasent. The bill was $16. All and all for a cheap meal this place does it, but probably not worth a special trip. I live nearby so I might be back, even after my tepid review. read more

The first market place to have a small cafe in it!! They have small foods, coffee, smoothies, juices and pastries too!! Everyone gotta try the hazelnut frappe it's my favorite and it will be worth it. Trust me:) I come here a lot to buy drinks and pastries on my break. I got an iced mocha, americano coffee, coconut/chocolate chip muffin and grabbed a loaf of coconut bread while checking out. I found the baked goods very soft and flavorful and the iced coffee was great, just as good as Starbucks! Friendly staff and quick service, even in the morning. Good place to take a break for a happy hour never at reasonable prices. It maybe a typical Waikiki convenient store, but off to the back of the store is a little bar with good cold beer on tap and all the snack food a convenient store can provide. Bartenders are personable and friendly. Once you get past the idea you are in a store drinking, it's ok. Stopped here for breakfast and to see how this new place is. Ordered the turkey bacon breakfast burrito for $4.89. When I received the burrito in a brown bag , I instantly noticed how small the circumference of the bag bulge was. Opened the bag to see what appears to be nothing more than a reheated frozen pre-made burrito Had all the looks and taste of a packaged burrito I could get in the frozen section of Whole Foods. Very disappointing especially because this is a cafe. You guys could do so much better than this. I just so happened to come in on a day where their espresso machine was down and the cashier lady didn't want to turn around to take my order; even though I said excuse me, and after a coworker told her I was standing there. However I'm not giving 1 star because I like their food selection wayyy better than the ABC store and they bagels and other baked goods. They also have a bar right next to the coffee spot!! They have a few beers on tap, I noticed this as I waited patiently for the lady to just turn around. The store itself is pretty small, but there's a large amount of seating area. This place is another version of ABC store but with an eating area. Everything is clean and organized. Unlike ABC, this place isn't filled with merchandise at every inch of the store but that also means that they don't have much inventory here. However, I find their prepared food much more appetizing. We roamed around a bit and ended up buying a gallon of Cryster Geyser for $1 less than their competitor. read more
