Let me start with this: I HAD AN ABSOLUTE BLAST with Dez, Julia, Tommy, and Captain Carlos!!! This was my FIRST TIME snorkeling AND being out in open water, so I was equal parts excited, nervous, and ready to mind my business on the boat. But this crew made me feel so comfortable, safe, and excited to get in that water! And BABYYYY... once I got in?! I was a whole ass underwater Natty-Geo correspondent. I saw a needlefish, a little "chub" fish, AND a fish that looked just like DORY!!! I was swimming around like, "OH MY GOD, LOOK AT THAT!" every five seconds. LOL. Went on this with the kids and grandkids and had a great time. Snorkeling on Oahu is not as good as the snorkeling in Maui but it was still a good experience. They pick you up on the beach and provide all the equipment you need. We went out to the area where turtles are and there were about four other boats out there. The one bummer is that everyone is grouped up and there is a lot of bumping each other. I saw several turtles and many fish. The views of the shore were spectacular. The crew was awesome. Very low key but explained what you can and cannot do. Showed you how to use the equipment and kept an eye on you when you were in the water. A must do trip if you are in Honolulu/Waikiki. read more

I've done two events with Waikiki Sailing, and both were memorable. The first was my birthday with a big group--the crew made sure we were well taken care of, the music was pumping, and the drinks kept coming, creating the perfect celebratory vibe. We got into the warm water and saw tons of fish and sea turtles. The Lifeguards provided were helpful and friendly. We saw several sea turtles. Afterwards we sailed outside the reef of the Waikiki beach while sipping on Mai tais. It was so relaxing and fun. We loved the friendly staff, especially Lucy who made us feel loved and welcome. I chose this company for snorkeling in Hawaii. The whole experience took about 2 hours or so. They have timed slots that people can book online. All the crews were so nice and helpful and very friendly. They provided us with snorkeling equipment and lifeguards. Also gave instructions how to snorkel. They emphasized greatly on safety and precautions while on boat. They also have mini bar that sells alcoholic beverages. They have available restroom on the boat. Boat is clean and well-maintained. We saw turtles and dolphins while sailing. This was a memorable experience that I will never forget in Hawaii. Sailing and being on a boat was so much more fun than I thought it would be. I went with my son and his 2 young daughters, they had a great time they saw lots of turtles and fish, water was a little ruff for me I am in my 70' but I saw plenty of turtles from the deck. The grandchildren hung out with the lifeguards a lot who were very good with them, they kept holding onto the surfboard when tired. Staff were great and friendly the boat was very clean. Great afternoon on the water cruising off the coast of Waikiki. Dez (first mate, Lucy (bartender), and the captain (sorry - can't remember her name) were all great and accommodating! Safety was emphasized during the brief in a fun but memorable way by Dez. Lucy made great drinks and actually carried them for me as I'm currently on a cane due to a hip replacement. My colleague went on the sunset cruise the day before we went and he said they diverted to watch whales instead of cruising around diamond head. Today is my husband's birthday and we are in Hawaii for our very first family trip. We made reservations with Waikiki Sailing Company as it was recommended to us. Our crew members were Captain Pono, Claire, Dez, and Phoenix. They were such a good group of people - relaxed, fun, interactive, and have very good taste in music! We had a fantastic experience from sailing out, to snorkeling to see all the great sea life (and some scuba divers!) and the final cruise around the ocean. Our only feedback would be that we wished there were life vests especially for children under 8. The floating belt did not allow the kids to fully feel safe in the water. However, if there are no young children, we would definitely recommend this team and we would do this again! read more

Wow, I read all the reviews and everyone kept mentioning how nice the crew was, and they weren't lying! The Waikiki Sailing Co crew was absolutely fantastic, they helped us every step of the way. Even had 2 lifeguards out in the water to keep everyone safe and point out turtles. We saw so many turtles sleeping deep on the reef and coming up for air. The drinks were tasty and it was a blast watching the crew clear the surf line on the way out and back in. They had large and small mask sizes and lots of fin sizes to fit everyone on the boat. It was easy to get on and off the boat and into the water to snorkel on their stairs. There were 3-4 other boats out there and the WSC boat was clearly the nicest. I have sailed with Waikiki Sailing Company on two separate dates. The first was back in December of 2025 with Woody, Nina, and Claire. They poured drinks, shared great stories, and made me feel right at home. I did the aloha hour sail initially, but it was so much fun that I turned around and booked the sunset cruise directly behind it. The day was slightly overcast, and the wind was howling across the bow; the front of the hull was noticeably jumping through the waves. As long as you don't get seasick, this type of weather is amazing for sailing. When I wasn't hanging out front with the wind in my face, I enjoyed standing at the back of the boat and chatting with the crew over a Mai Tai or a whisky sour. I recommend a bandana or hat with a chin string; otherwise, you might just donate your hat to the ocean. The second time was just last week, and Carlos, Julia, and Keala were crewing the boat. They were attentive, jovial, and you can tell they enjoy what they do. The Hawea is a beautiful catamaran, and unlike other boat tours, WSC doesn't oversell space, and there is lots of room to move around on deck for whatever you are trying to do. Sitting on the front nets or standing at the tip of the bow is a great place to be, if you don't mind the salt spray and bouncing with the waves. I did a repeat of my December trip and went for a back-to-back sail for sunset. Save them the third-party commission, and book directly on their site or at the beach if you want to help them out a little more. I was very fortunate to see spinner dolphins on both occasions. This added a solid extra to the outing. I will hopefully be back in three to six months, and this is one of the first items that I will put on my agenda. Group of approx 30 so didn't feel crowded. Stayed out until sun had almost set. Beautiful & peaceful trip. Winds and waves were up all day.
