Extremely disappointed in the lack of responsiveness and caring attitude from this floral business with an arrangement for my wife's 50th birthday. When I called, I asked that the 5 roses and other flowers be arranged in a 360 view due to being displayed on our dining table. Not only did they not follow my request as confirmed on the phone but they delivered them after 7:30pm even though they were promised before 6pm so my wife would get them before we left for dinner. I called the next day and the lady was quite nice and apologized and stated the owner would call me first thing Monday morning. Not only did the owner not call me at all but I had to call her at 5:30 pm to share my experience. I explained what happened and she did not care but stated that the designer had been with her for 10 years and does not make mistakes. Wow, we just moved back here from the Chicago area and did not expect such a cavalier attitude with customers. If we ever had an issue our previous florist would remake our order and send immediately. The flowers were lovely just not what I paid for. You may have a different experience with Wake Forest Florist & Gifts on 536 S White St. however for us, the owner showed no empathy and was uninterested in ensuring this first time customer was a happy one and 3 promises were broken. read more

The BEST floral delivery arrangement I have ever received! Fresh, gorgeous, lasting! I am 52 years old and recently had surgery. My in-laws sent me a stunning arrangement made and delivered by Wake Forest Florist and Gifts. (I was not familiar with this florist) The arrangement was absolutely amazing! The flowers were so fresh that they lasted almost a month, with several blooms opening each week - and I am not exaggerating! The white flowers were huge! I called early in the morning from several hundred miles away, to see about getting a delivery that same day to my granddaughter who lives locally. Allison, who helped me on the phone, was wonderful, kind and patient. She described the options in detail, including pricing and other options available. I called a few days before my daughters birthday party to see if she could do table arrangements because the venue informed me last minute i could not use balloons. She was extremely nice and super helpful doing them last minute. I hadn't expected she would be able to do it on short notice. Well my experience runs contrary to other reviews here. I pre-ordered a Valentine's day arraignment and paid $65.00 for it. What I got was deplorable, a small vase with two roses, three carnations among mixed greens and a few Daisy's. Total height was about 15 inches, flowers showed on only one side and was so sparsely arranged you couldn't use it as a centerpiece. I went to Harris Teeter and they had much nicer full round arraignments in a vase the same size for only $35.00. I took pictures of both to prove my point but don't think I can post them here. Needless to say, that was my first and last order from this florist. My wife at least appreciated the effort but said I wasted my money for sure. read more

I live across the country from my dear Mom, who recently lost my Dad and needs a lot of encouragement to know she is not forgotten. I often spend a great deal of money on flowers for her, trusting that what is delivered is what I order: NOT the case with Wake Forest Florist. I ordered a very expensive arrangement that was pictured on their website, did NOT check the box indicating that it was okay to substitute, and also indicated in the notes that I did not approve of substitutions. Nobody called me, but when my Mom received the flowers, she called to thank me for the arrangement, which included a lot of carnations (I dislike carnations intensely and never choose arrangements containing them...they are cheap and ugly). I called Allison, the owner, to complain. She said that they could not get the burgundy dahlias, so she has substituted just a few carnations for them and that was all she had changed. She offered me a discount on the next arrangement, and we left it at that. It was really bothering me, though, that I had spent so much for what she delivered, so I asked my Mom to photograph the arrangement. It turns out that the owner had, in fact, substituted TONS of cheap filler and flowers that were not even of the same color scheme. The arrangement looked horrendous. I will let the attached photos speak for themselves. I sent the photos to the owner and asked for a refund; and also chewed her out for the deceptive business practice. She ignored my request, and when I called her to follow-up two weeks later, she told me that she had not read my entire email because it was 'disturbing' and rudely asked me what I wanted her to do. I told her that I wanted a refund. She said 'okay..and never call me again', and proceeded to hang up on me. No apology...no explanation. I am tired of florists thinking that they can charge whatever they want for whatever THEY choose to send and that the consumer will be none the wiser. This woman acted like I should be grateful to her no matter what she sent. Sorry, Allison...that's not how business works. We are PAYING you for a product, and we expect to have that product delivered. read more

I have ordered multiple bouquets from Wake Forest Florist for my mom and even to be delivered to a friend who was a new mother at the hospital. Every time I have been nothing but thrilled! I called in to order and talked to a designer, explained what I was looking for, I always order a designers choice because that is the best bang for your buck and will have the freshest flowers and usually look the nicest because they don't have to follow a stupid recipe. Specifying flowers or colors has worked for me but I always check to make sure they have a good stock of them first and only make minimal specifications and then let them work their magic on it! They have always tried to help me with whatever I needed! As a woman who has worked in flower shops in the past, here is my response to the previous reviews: I see the two reviews below and I just don't understand. I have worked in florists and know how these things work. Flowers are actually best in the cold and that's why flower shops keep them in coolers. If flowers sit on a porch for a few hours in the cold they are fine. And a florist can get a 50+ orders a day sometimes. The chances of the first person who answered the phone getting knowing when your order went out off the top of their head isn't likely at all. Chances are they thought you were talking about another arrangement that was similar that went out that day. If something happens to the flowers after they have been dropped off then it is not the florists fault. You can check your own porch. Similarly, not all flowers are in the best shape all year round. Teleflora has arrangements that they sell all year round but that doesn't mean they are best. Usually a shop will only alter an arrangement recipe when the flowers it calls for are just plain unavailable or not in the best of season. Fresh flowers is more important than the name of the flower. And ordering flowers online is the worst way to order flowers because you aren't able to tell what the florist will be able to do for you. Bad choice to begin with. read more

Another friend of ours was supposed to take care of the flowers. 4 days before the event she backed out of helping so I was panicked. I went to Wake Forest Florist to see if they could get me what I needed in time. They couldn't have been more helpful! They went above and beyond to check into whether they could get the particular flowers I wanted. In the end they were able to get me what I needed and gave me one less thing to worry about. I had received a dozen roses from my husband which he ordered through 1-800-flowers and delivered by WF florist. The roses wilted in one day so he called the Wake Forest Florist and they refused to replace. He then called 1-800-flowers and complained. The next day another dozen roses showed up the lasted nearly 2 weeks. One poorly handled experience has encouraged us to order Pro or pick up at HT. We always try to support our local businesses, but definitely will not if we get substandard product. read more

I have been a customer for 15 years. When I call to check on an order (because the last two were delivered on the wrong day for a birthday) I was told they don't make mistakes. I GUESS IT WAS MY FAULT. Then when they couldn't find the order I was calling about they said I didn't tell them it was a wired order. I GUESS IT WAS MY FAULT. I was called back by someone else 30 min. later to say everything was fine with this order and I told her about the rude comments and she told me when a customer is upset it makes everyone upset.I GUESS IT WAS MY FAULT. I have used Wake Forest Florist in the past and I have had great results. They are very good about delivering the flowers when and where you asked for them to be delivered. I have had terrible results with1-800- flowers, and Wake Forest Florist was able to deliver a better arrangement than I was going to get from other florists. I will always had very polite and professional service when dealing with this florist either on line or on the phone. Not having first hand knowledge of any local florists I did a Google Maps search and found Wake Forest Florist. I called and spoke with the nicest lady (I believe her name was Alison - but I cannot swear to it - I am horrible with names - sorry) but she was so nice and helpful. I called, made sure they were a local florist, and then discussed the order. The woman I spoke with was quite knowledgeable about what type of flowers they had in stock, what what was coming in the following day, and what would last. I placed the order to be delivered the next day. The next day I got a text from my friend's son telling me the flowers had arrived and they were beautiful. Later that evening my friend called to express her thanks for the wonderful flowers. I could tell she was very pleased and that made me happy. I too have had a horrible experience with Wake Forest Flowers. I am from Canada, and this past weekend was the Canadian Thanksgiving. My dear brother and family decided to send my family an arrangement to make us feel included in the holiday celebrations, as we were unable to make the 15 hour trip home. My daughter and I left the house October 8th around 9am in the morning to bring our dogs to the kennel. It is only 10 mins from our house. We arrived back home by 9:15 to find a very small card from Wake Forest Florals hung on the handle of one of our 3 car garage doors ? Quite a bizarre place to leave it, as I almost thought the landscaping people had stopped by , and at first thought it was a tag from one of my rose bushes they had recently planted, The card said they had delivered something, and that they were on the porch. The back porch is not 10 feet from the garage doors, however they were not there. My daughter then checked the front porch and low and behold there was the arrangement left just standing out in the 46 degree weather in which it happened to be raining . They were not wrapped or covered. My husband was home, but no one called , or rang the doorbell ? The first thing I noticed was how truly UGLY these flowers were. Knowing my brother had sent them to remind me of "Thanksgiving" I called to ask what exactly had been ordered to be sent. The lady stated that my arrangement was a "Thanksgiving, Fall " arrangement. It was anything but !!! First the vase that was used was a large DEEP PURPLE. almost 3/4 of the arrangement was then made up of a paler shade of PURPLE "seed type" filler, the kind that makes a lovely mess anytime you go near it. The actual flowers that were there were a tiny 4 bud strand of MINIATURE RED ROSES, 3 RED CARNATIONS, 3 PALE PINK CARNATIONS RIMMED with a RED EDGE, and a very tiny 4 BUD strand of YELLOW daisies (the only fall color at all ) . They then slapped a huge yellow bow and considered it a "Thanksgiving " arrangement. I told them the arrangement was HIDEOUS, CHEAP and shame on them for taking money from people who live far away. I also asked for my brother to get a refund. They said they could send another arrangement, but I told them why would I want another UGLY arrangement, they didn't do it right the first time. I didn't call them until later in the day as I was busy with other things. I asked when they were delivered. she then proceeded to tell me they had just been delivered within the hour. I then told her she had just flat out lied, as I really had found them at 9:30 am . She then told me they were actually delivered SATURDAY at 1:45 pm, and that they had been left on our front porch ALL weekend out in the cold. I would NEVER use their services EVER. Horrible business people !!! Shame on them !!! read more
