Loved the donuts here! They were so fresh and had several different flavors to pick from. Prices were very fair for speciality donuts, $2.75/donut. My favorite was the banana cream one followed by the maple bacon donut. The chocolate peanut butter was not as peanut buttery as I would have liked. I definitely would have skipped the cookies and cream one too! The guy behind the counter was nice and the service was quick. The only downside is they do not have any seating inside or outside to enjoy your donuts. Definitely recommend getting some and bringing them down to the river to enjoy!

The service is amazing! However, the gluten free donut we got had a longggg hair baked inside it. Kinda killed it for us.

Donut of the day -- caramel macchiato! So good!

I'm a donut snob. And this donut-- the caramel macchiato-- was perfection. Not at all dry, very airy dough, with a nice crisply fried outer layer. The espresso cream inside was decadent. And the frosting was a really interesting and lively flavor. The caramel drizzle on top wove the whole flavor profile together. I would happily go back here.

I came here on a trip with my mom in the peak of summer. We were a tad worried about crowds from what we had seen on Yelp, so we headed over pretty early to make sure we had our pick of donuts. Luckily, they were freshly stocked with all of their creative flavors, and were able to get all of the ones we wanted. The donuts were MASSIVE, which I loved as someone who is a sugar fan, but was less appealing for my mom who only ate half of one at a time. They had a few classic flavors that were less intense than others, such as the cinnamon sugar donut, but most were filled and pretty sugary. My favorite was either the cookie dough or the caramel macchiato one, and what I appreciated the most about their donuts was that they were perfectly filled. They weren't dry or empty but instead soft, chewy, and with a good portion of filling. Definitely will come back if I'm in the area.

A fresh doughnut always hits the spot, but Wake n Bake takes it next level and deserves big praise for being different in a common industry. Located in the heart of old downtown Wilmington with off street meter parking. Overall debris free walk up. The window has the bakery items on display. It's a take out only shop. It's a small shop that really packs a punch with creative designs. I mean who would think to put potato chips on a doughnut right? Or how about fruit loop cereal? The staff was super nice and helpful with selections for our family visiting from out of town. He said he dies it all from bake to front end. It's on the pricy end, but the quality is there and they are also oversized. The chocolate cream filled evidently spoke to all three of us because that's what we got. Over the top fresh and delicious with tasty cream. Only disappointment was not enough cream, like I can't get enough. This is your doughnut shop when visiting Wilmington. Hopefully they will add a few small tables out front as the weather warms.

got a half dozen, ate some, and stored the rest for later in the week. they are amazing and store well. they sell out early in the morning so i rarely make it before all the good ones are sold out- and when I do I get a bunch and keep them around for later

Visited this cute little donut shop while on a quick trip to Wilmington. There was many, many flavors to choose from... Some very unique. You could also just get plain old plain old ones. I ordered the maple bacon and it was delicious. It had a good deal of maple icing on it with chunks of bacon on top. The donut itself was very thick and fluffy. We also ordered a couple of just plain glazed donuts that were good as well. They also have a large variety of coffees and lattes. I ordered a caramel iced coffee and it was very good. I expected this you need to not shop to be extremely busy at 8:30 AM, but I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to walk right in and order. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is visiting Wilmington and loves a good donut.

I've been to lots of mom and pop donut shops and this one is fine, but it's really not one that will stick with me as a favorite. Street parking (read the signs so as to not be towed). Prices aren't too crazy (think 2.50 a donutish) and they do have lots to choose from. Basically nowhere to sit inside as this place is super small...definitely the smallest donut shop I've ever frequented. Personally, I'd go back if I were walking the neighborhood, but I wouldn't take a trip here in my car unless I were seriously jonesing for a fried dough treat. You can see my pics for more details on what the donuts look like, menu, etc.

Super cute, fun selection of donuts. This location I believe gets donuts from another so they did run out of a couple of the donut types, but plenty to choose from to take to go.

Friday I needed a treat after a harder week so stopped in this cool donut shop on the way home. They had my favorite combo of dessert ingredients in a donut, peanut butter and chocolate. The PB Get Bizzy is a cake donut filled with peanut butter custard, topped with chocolate icing and 1/2 of a Reese's Cup. A peanut butter based light drizzle complimented it all. What a Friday treat!

Absolutely Divine Donuts. We stopped here last weekend while we were in Wilmington. This location was downtown in a very small storefront. They had a wide variety of flavors and it was hard to NOT order everything. These donuts were so fresh and the box was heavy, even with just 6! I absolutely loved the strawberry cheesecake and the peanut butter chocolate...though every one of them were fantastic. If you are in town and there are available parking spots on the street....you should DEFINITELY treat yourself to these beauties!!!

Small doughnut shop near the Riverwalk. A great variety of creative, flavorful doughnuts. The person working this weekend was friendly and fun. He recommended a few eateries too. Tip: go early for the best selection!

first things first, I found parking on the street and paid for parking. Cross the street walked over to the shop and there was a sign hanging in the door that said on a lunch break. Will be back in 30 minutes. It was 10 AM. There were several other people standing outside, waiting for them to open. when the guy finally showed up, he walked to the front door, took the sign down and walked back to the counter. Didn't open the door didn't say anything just walk back to the counter. I entered the store and received no greeting. Walked up to the counter and ordered my donuts. they were casually strewn into a box. I was very excited to try the espresso cream, Dennis had very little frosting, and honestly could barely taste of any coffee. Definitely will not be going back to this place. Over priced, and not worth the effort.

First off, by the time we arrived around 10am, they only had a few donuts left. Honestly, I wouldn't necessarily count that against them because it may just be a sign that the donuts are really popular. They were completely sold out by 10:30, though, so definitely come early if donuts are your priority. We were lucky enough to grab a strawberry donut and a half dozen munchies, and the donuts themselves were GREAT! I ordered a sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich on an Asiago bagel. The flavors were good, but the bagel was a little too crunchy which made it difficult to eat. If I went again, I'd probably either get the Asiago bagel with cream cheese or stick to a plain bagel for the sandwich. My daughter ordered the bacon, lettuce, and pimento cheese biscuit, but they were out of biscuits so she switched to a bagel instead. Unfortunately, they forgot the bacon entirely, which was pretty disappointing since that's a major part of the sandwich. My other daughter ordered the Baja breakfast burrito with salsa on the side, but the salsa was put directly on the burrito. To their credit, they did offer to remake it, but we had already been waiting about 20 minutes so we decided to just keep it. Oddly, we still had to wait another 7 minutes after that for our food. Overall, the donuts were excellent, but between the long wait, several order issues, and limited availability, it just wasn't a place I'd personally go back to.

You can go for coffee and for a fee (one time, monthly, 6 month, yearly rates) let your child play in an enclosed space with a plethora of toys and activity areas to explore. Meanwhile, you can interact with your child in the area or sit at the tables surrounding. There are some high stools directly next to the play area with a good view. I brought my two year old for the first time and he was thoroughly entertained. It was great that he was also able to play with other children. It was a clean environment and they have extra baskets positioned around for toys that may have found themselves in the mouths of the kids for cleaning afterwards. The bathroom offers a changing table and the coffee stand offers a great amount of beverages to choose from. Suggestions: with all the little hands, I would suggest hand sanitizer at the entrances to the play area. Tissues would be a good idea too. I think a lot of parents will carry those things around but having them readily available for use would overall help with cleanliness and hygiene for the kiddos. Also, a step stool in the bathroom for kids to be able to reach to wash their hands. I've been excited for Three Friends to open in the area and it did not disappoint. This is an excellent concept. I'm hoping that with more popularity maybe they will be able to stay open a little bit later for some evening play. 100% will be visiting often with my boy.
