We did so, but Kohler sent the wrong part (not the part that Ben said we needed), which Ben discovered when he came out the second time to fix the faucet. So, we went back to Kohler, convinced them that Ben knew which part was needed. They apologized and promptly sent it, and Ben (and Mason) came out a third time -- it was the right part, and Ben promptly fixed the shower faucet. My dishwasher hose was leaking at the shut-off valve and I called Same Day to come seal it off for…read moreme. They scheduled for the next day (which was fine, I called at 4pm and the leak was extremely slow) and sealed up around the valve. The charge was $145 but I don't think that's unreasonable for in-home service. It's not like I'd be able to repair the thing myself. Unfortunately the next day I noticed the leak was still going, though much slower than before. The guy came out 2 hours after I called, and this time replace the tubing. He let me know the reason for the leak was because the tube was supposed to have a metal bit inside to keep the plastic firm against the shut-off valve, but this particular hose was installed with just plastic. The replacement for the tube and this particular visit was no extra cost, it was just included in the $145 I had already paid. No leaks since then, and I'm sure I'd use these guys again if I ever have another plumbing problem.

The city of Raleigh refuses to check their water meter or replace it without an invoice from a plumber. Our water bill was higher than usual the last few months. I did a toilet leak test and found no leaks. Nothing else on the property showed a leak. I called the water department and they were less than helpful. Despite our bill going DOWN after turning ON our sprinkler system, they insisted there was a leak. Matthew's Plumbing sent two guys out who listened to the story, checked the meter as I did, checked the crawl space (no leaks) and listened to me complain about the water department. I was expecting to pay $200+, instead they only charged me $75. These people are honest. I was upset enough that I would have paid the $200 or more had they asked me to do so.
