We didn't use, but also saw tennis courts, a baseball field, a pool + splash pad, a basketball court, many swinging benches, and multiple pavilions. Recommend coming here on a nice sunny day to enjoy the hike to the fullest. We were greeted with a random encounter by a black rat snake right when we entered. This place is well maintained and offers a variety of aesthetic gardens and trails, along with several benches in each area for you to simply sit back and relax while enjoying the view. The highlight would be the Kalberer emergent tower, featuring a 120 ft structure that offers a panoramic view of the forest and Lake Erie (202 stairs to the top). The Murch canopy walk is also a must-visit spot. This is a 500 ft long elevated walkway that lets you immerse yourself in the tree canopy. We had such a great time here and will definitely be back. No matter if it is just a drive through on a beautiful fall or Spring day or if you visit the rose garden for a concert in the summer or visit mid-winter then the whole place turns white, this place is beautiful! I have some of my earliest memories as a child going to Mill Creek park and renting a boat on the lake. My Grandfather used to take me golfing with him on the golf course. We would have a wonderful time at this beautiful park. No matter where you enter the park, Boardmen, Austintown, Struthers or where ever you are sure to see beautiful trees, tons of hiking trails, the rivers and lakes that run through the middle and some beautiful birds, animal's, and other creatures throughout this park. The nature trails are some of my favorite and on a beautiful fall day there is nothing like going through this park with the leaves changing colors and falling from the trees, the air is crisp and you have cold mornings and warm afternoons. This park is so special to me, I have been here for birthday parties, weddings and even some funerals or celebration of life ceremonies. Certain places inside the park you can get some great view of downtown Youngstown. I wish I could have seen Youngstown in its hayday when the steel mills were working! No matter the reason you go to Mill Creek Park, I am sure you will have a wonderful trip. It has been a few years now since I have made it back to Youngstown, but when I go back, I know I will end up in this beautiful park!

What an awesome place to kayak! There are so many coves to paddle through. I enjoy the coves as it is quiet and peaceful and I can sit back in the shade and read my book and eat my snacks. My husband loves this place as he loves to fish and he has been doing pretty well catching fish in the kayak. We have an enjoyable time every time that we are on this lake. Actually this is our favorite spot so far. We have explored so much of this lake but it is so big that it will take us a long time to explore the rest of it and we are totally fine with it. We can't wait to get back on this lake and kayak around. Hmmm maybe today haha!!

In very congested surroundings, this cute little park offers an educational experience as well as pleasurable. Here you will find tree plaques throughout the trail that inform you about the local species. There is also a number of exercise stations, generous playground, a small fraction of ledges hugging a tiny stream and an adorable butterfly garden! With two trails to choose from, you think it would be impossible to get lost. However, the old carved map is slightly misleading. Whichever trail you decide to explore you'll begin at the same starting point ;straight ahead you'll see a tiny wooden bridge- this path leads you wandering around...you cannot distinct between path & surroundings as nothing is marked. If you avoid this & veer to the right, one trail loops around the park while the other eventually takes you through a series of backyards & a golf course. Each trail is made up of twisting roots & tiny gravel so if you have a decent stroller (avoid the trail with a street name & take the loop only) you should be able to enjoy the park without any hiccups.
