RUN RUN RUN Away!!! I was recommended a "Deep Cleaning" by their staff and after doing so I discovered that I did not needed that treatment. The staff made me sign paperwork while I was laying down on the chair which made me commit to what they said was not covered by my insurance. After the visit I had some back and forth with my insurance and they did not understand why I had to pay such a huge amount of money for a treatment that was covered. Approximately 5 months later I received a letter from this office via a collection agency saying that I owe them money for the treatment. Two months later I received another letter from this office saying that I still owe them more money for the same treatment. This place is a ripoff and a dishonest business that takes advantage of their patience. read more

Seven months ago I moved to Lakeland and found this dentist. In fact, It was the only one in the area with availability. After a complete dental work up, I was told that I had six cavities and required a deep cleaning (Being that I have gone to the dentist every 6 months for the past several years you can imagine the horror I felt when I was told this). Because I had my doubts already (Please refer to previous reviews for those) I decided to just schedule a regular cleaning and was hoping to find another dentist. It's now been 6 months since my regular cleaning and I have found a new dentist who assured me I did not require a deep clean and definitely did not have 6 cavities that required fillings. Do yourself the favor and never go to this place. They are trying to rob people of their money. I won't even go into detail about what they did to my husband but let's just say he went in for a crown and required a visit to an urgent care because a member of their staff left a piece of gauze under the crown and he had developed a severe infection. read more

Had appointments for my 3 teenagers and myself today. The hygienist wouldn't clean my teeth at all for under $250 a side. That was down from the original quote of $320 per side. Since i still needed to make sure my 3 kids teeth were ok first, i passed. When Dr Walding was examining my children he didnt speak one word to me. On top of that the office charged me a $10 PPE office fee each for $30, which i asked them to reverse those hidden fees. My insurance covers 100% preventative dental care so i was shocked by any out of pocket costs. It turned out that 2 of my teens have 5 cavities altogether and with insurance my out of pocket costs would have been near $500. Needless to say i canceled my third teens appointment and scheduled a new dentist for him tomorrow. read more

Went in for a check-up and cleaning. -Was there from 730-910am and never got my teeth cleaned. They completed Xrays, cancer screening, and dentist review. Charged me ~$35 with insurance. -I was then presented with an estimate for $355, after insurance, if I wanted to get my teeth cleaned. This would be after insurance as they charge "per a quadrant." -Then received another estimate saying I needed 15 "chemo" treatments not covered by insurance that would cost $900. She said I would also need an antibiotic in addition. -After the "chemo" treatments I would need another cleaning every 4 months that would cost $108 each after insurance. -Finally, I received another estimate saying they wanted to remove a filling and replace it with a crown as "I wouldn't want my tooth to break over Christmas break, so I should get it now..." This was for $743 after insurance. I immediately left and was seriously disturbed, not only at the prices, but that I had "problems." I say that because I just had my teeth checked a few months ago and was given a clean bill of health. I went and saw Dr. Llano's office today (paid out of pocket $89.) They did more Xrays, cancer screening, and a thorough exam. Received word that I don't need any of the above treatments. They recommend a cleaning that will cost me $96 without insurance. Walding did an implant and crown for my #7 lat. incisor (a top front tooth). Walding botched the crown by having it sticking out way past the other teeth. This caused the implant to fail and come out. Walding admitted that he was not paying attention to what he was doing when he attached and adjusted the botched crown. Walding later promised me a full refund so I could pay for corrective surgery. Right before my appointment to have the surgery, Walding demanded I sign a full waiver and non disclosure agreement to get the money I needed. That was not a part of the agreement so I ended up having to scramble for surgery money at the last minute to correct their mistake. It was a super-stressful thing to go through before surgery. The corrective procedure to fix Walding's screw up was an extensive bone graft and it was agonizing. It took 10 months to heal that and the new implant. The whole time, my smile was totally embarrassing. I've expressed these concerns to Walding and his response was unconcerned. It's a fact that Walding has no regard for the wellness of his clients or even the quality of his own work. I was promised a full refund by his insurance company but It's been a year now and I haven't received a dime. Walding is the worst. Do yourself a favor and find a real dentist. read more

This dentist is a scam !!! Went to his office because of a problem with one of my molars . Was told after examination that I needed 3 crowns and that I had periodontal disease. Was then referred to hygienist who said I needed rooting. And scaling done and presented me with a bill of almost 1300.00 dollars with insurance! My insurance carrier advised Dr. Walding is an in network dentist and the advantages of using his office would be dental services with little to no out of pocket expense. That was definitely not the case for me. I arrived at the office with expectations that I would probably need a bit more than a standard cleaning; however, I could not have been more shocked and disappointed when I received the prescribed treatment plan from the hygienist... First, I must say, the staff at Dr. Walding's office overall, were super friendly and nice, as was the brief interaction I had with Dr. Walding. My main concern came from the hygienist generated treatment plan. My suspicions were raised when the hygienist, Jasmine, stated if she had included all "the medicine" I needed for my "gum disease" I would probably need to get a second mortgage. The plan I was presented included a four quadrant scaling and root planing with Atridox-"the medicine" for a Grand Total of 1350.50- AFTER INSURANCE. Are you freaking kidding me?? This plan was undoubtedly going to comprise of more visits and more money!!! What a complete waste of 2 hours of my life. I already knew i was never going to pay that much money for a cleaning so Jasmine suggested we take out "the medicine costs." ----What? Why? If my gums are truly such a mess, why would that even be an option? Any hoo- I decided to get a second opinion with a highly experienced and reputable local Periodontist-gums are thier specialty. And surprise of all surprises my gums were in pretty decent shape after all- all i need is a good cleaning twice a year. Which his office proceeded to schedule for the next day with their hygienist. Oh yeah-my insurance covers almost all of this. My advice- if you're ok being misguided and overcharged...well then you decide. Dr. Walding corrected a misfitted cap and followed up with a text which was a nice experience. What I did not like was he would not see me without a cancer scan that insurance would not pay for the test and it could not be waived. Also I was told I had 'leaky' filings that would need to be capped, and they just happened to have a special 2 caps for the price of one. It felt like a car salesman pitch. One star is generous. This dentist is a thief. Inventing new ways to get money seems to be the specialty of this office. Dr. Walding was my dentist for about three years. He put in a couple of crowns and did some routine dental work. The last crown was horrible. It was huge, twice as big as all my other teeth. I went in three times for him to adjust it and it was never right. The whole office is like a really bad time share. My hygienist was forced to spend way too much time selling me stuff I didn't want or need. I recently switched dentists and while changing my insurance I discovered that Walding had been overcharging me for all the work I had done. My insurance has a set price that I should have to pay, this office consistently ignored that and overcharged me. I wish I had checked sooner. Unless you enjoy being overcharged and over pressured, I suggest you go elsewhere. My hygienist, the only part of the visit I enjoyed, was fired shortly after I left this practice for refusing to take a cut in her pay. Unbelievable. Greedy and poor workmanship. I finally had the crown replaced for over $100 less than Dr. Walding charges. I now have a crown that fits, no thanks to Dr. Walding and Associates. read more

If I could give them six stars I would! I had a dental emergency today- New Year's Eve and my wife called several places who could not see me. Dr. Walding worked me in. From Sandy, the receptionist, to the dental tech to Dr. Walding, I was treated with kindness, respect, and professionalism. What a great place. My needs were taken care of in short order. I only went to this Dr. Because mine move. At the first appt. after some woman that caused more pain taking ex rays than I have ever had in my life, dr. Walding came in look at the computer the whole time look in my mouth for 5 sec at most said my filling were leaking and would need to be replace, gave me a PEN not a toothbrush and left. It is standard routine a patient cannot leave until the days charges are settled. How is it the manager always claims I owe money from a previous appointment from over a year and half ago, I never received a bill by mail only when I go in to get my teeth cleaned, somehow hidden charges are incurred from the previous visit (very shady). They were very good 3 years ago when they were in the old merchants walk plaza, not since they moved into their new building, I have now noticed quite a bit of hidden extras that are medically necessary. read more

TERRIBLE! Beware. DO NOT schedule an appointment... they will Charge a $30 cancellation FEE! I work nights, it was told to them I would not be able to do a morning appointment... Sandy calls me the next morning, a hour into my sleep, then calls me again. Both times no answer. Then she calls my wife. Leaving messages that she wants to move my appointment from 1 to 11. I decided to leave right then and went straight to my own dentist for my son to get a cleaning. My dentist said he did NOT have 1 cavity and no signs of gingivitis! Buyer Be Ware! Walding overcharges for cleanings that other dentists perform for the usually cleaning fee. They will find some gingivitis and recommend a very expensive cleaning that costs $150 per quadrant or much more! They pay the hygienist the same hourly rate and these deep cleanings will usually take about the same amount of time. Other dentists don't charge this much for cleanings. They will scare you into thinking other dentists charge the same fees regulated by insurance companies, which is completely false! read more

My teenager's insurance didn't cover many dentists, but Walding took her insurance so we went there. At her last 6-month cleaning with a different dentist her teeth were fine, but according to this dentist she now has 12 cavities and her teeth are too dirty for a standard cleaning. They say she needs some sort of special cleaning that insurance doesn't cover. I find it hard to believe that her teeth could have gotten that bad in 6 months. But I felt stuck due to the limited dentists in the area who accept her insurance and already paying money for the initial visit. When I went back for the first of several "phases" of work, I learned there was an insurance issue and they couldn't treat her after all. They knew this the day before and left a message with an emergency contact instead of me, so I took off work for nothing. I now have to find a new dentist, but that's probably a good thing! read more
