Chicken tender basket with fries and tender sauce.
Anna H.

Best chicken tenders I've ever had! I love the tender boxes or chicken tenders sandwiches. The quality is good whether you dine-in or do the drive-thru. Their service can be hit or miss at times, especially with drive-thru wait times. Overall, definitely recommend Waldo's!

Dark chicken 1/4 piece . Mac n cheese and fries

As an avid chicken expert, it wasn't going to be long before I reviewed and tried out Waldo's chicken and beer. I got the dark chicken, fries, Mac n cheese, and the comeback sauce. Firstly, the chicken was crispy, fresh and had a nice light spice within each bite:8.7/10 The fries were solid/ you can tell freshly made:7.8/10 The comeback sauce was basically honey mustard. Was good but nothing outrageous. Mac n cheese: fresh homemade Mac n cheese that tastes like your grandmas: 8.5/10 Overall solid lil chicken joint. I mean waffles and beer. Can't go wrong

OG Chicken Sandwich and collard greens

Quick service in the drive through and darn good chicken. Definitely will be back. Chicken was tender and well seasoned. Collared greens were supple and tasted great!

Fowl Mouth with collard greens

Really great place, a lot more spacious than I thought. Has indoor and outdoor seating. The food was really good and came in a huge serving. Got 2 orders of fowl mouth, it was definitely spicy, but the good kind. The collar greens were delicious, and the Mac n cheese was good, could have used a little bit more seasoning. Overall the servers were friendly and the food was brought out promptly as well.

Point-of-Sale Tipping: Yes Price for Two: Approximately $40, including a point-of-sale tip Delivery: Food is brought to your table when ready. Condiment Bar: No Food: Really good overall. We had two three-piece chicken plates--one OG and one Spicy. The OG chicken was noticeably crispier. Our sides included rice, fries, pickles, and coleslaw. Everything was good, but the fresh pickles provided an especially nice contrast to the chicken, rice, and fries. The coleslaw had a pleasant sesame oil flavor, though, as with any creamy coleslaw, it's a bit of a roll of the dice, so I didn't eat much of it. The ranch served with the chicken seemed to be homemade--the thinner, more flavorful style rather than a thick bottled dressing. I was also curious to try some of the other sauces and dressings on the menu. Beverages: Coke products, plus some of the best proprietary teas I've had at a counter-service restaurant. The Sweet Almond Peach Tea was outstanding. Special Touches: Pickles served as a garnish and chopsticks available on the table. Portions: What you'd expect from a higher-end counter-service restaurant--filling enough to leave you satisfied, but not overly stuffed. Spice Level: The Spicy chicken had a noticeable kick but was still on the milder side in terms of heat. Service: Friendly, approachable, and efficient. Clean-Up: Leave dishes on the table for staff to clear. Parking: Shared with neighboring restaurants but plentiful. It can be a little convoluted to access from the main road.

It was the perfect consistency to add flavor, while not making it soggy or covered in a thick sauce. I was very pleasantly surprised by how good this delivered meal.

Also came with a huge wedge of cake. The chicken was very flavorful and fried well. The green beans were tasty as well. I wasn't a fan of the cake..a bit dry. A quintessential…read moremeat-and-three in the Auburn area, Pannie-George's definitely gives patrons a truly southern experience. I've been to hundreds of these local eateries all over the Southeast and will offer my honest opinion. In true Lower Alabama fashion, the fried chicken batter is thin and crispy (not thick and crunchy), the mac 'n' cheese is runny but cheesy, and the pork chops are soaked in gravy. It's delicious comfort food for the after-church crowd pouring in on a Sunday, or customers looking for an affordable bite to eat on a weekday. There are some downsides that prevented my rating from mirroring the stratospheric and glowing reviews on user-driven platforms like Yelp. While the batter is wonderful, the chicken is dry. The rice is uneventful. And the mac 'n' cheese was a little runnier than I prefer but wonderfully flavorful nonetheless. The choices for bread were stale Hawaiian rolls or homemade cornbread. For dessert, the lemon pie is quite delicious. And the experience is authentic and enjoyable. I recommend Pannie-George's for a simple, hearty meal.
