This morning I spent hours creating calendars and ordering prints. My entire order was cancelled after it was placed and I was given a pick up time. The only notification was by email which I didn't see. Drove to the store for pickup. Got in one line waited 10 min then we all Got asked to start another line. Once we got to the register the cashier told us to go back to photo to wait. We told him we had been told to wait there. He attempted to help but had no idea what was going on. Next the photo counter called the lady that was behind me in line. She had mentioned to me that she had called earlier and the communication was horrible. She wasn't wrong. When I for to the register I was told that both of my orders were cancelled. One order was 50 pictures but because 1 picture was an 8 x 10 and they were "having trouble with the 8 x 10 paper" they cancelled the entire order. As well as the BOGO calendars I had ordered. They said that's because they're 8 x 10 too. I asked if I would have to do the entire order over or if they could just push it on to another store and they told me I had to do everything over again. I used to love this Walgreens pharmacy their service was fast and reliable at this drive-through, but recently in the past three or four months you Dr. up and without notice there's a sign saying no pharmacist on duty. This happened to me today after I got a notice from the website saying I had a prescription that was ready so I drive here from my home and get to the drive-through and this is the sign I see. I do not recommend Walgreens anymore to anyone because I have heard that this is happening throughout the state for Walgreens they are short staffed. I will start looking to transfer all my prescriptions to a more reliable pharmacy. read more

Every-Single -Month I have an issue getting my medication. I'm required to call to fill it every month. after waiting over an hour EVERY TIME, they pick up and hang up the phone on me. This occurs usually two to three times before I am finally able to speak with somebody. usually they say they never received my script from the Dr, tho he sends 3 months at a time. last month AND this month, they are out of stock. So, when they ran out last month, they didn't think to order more? Then they are rude, make up several excuses why they left me on hold, sometimes blaming a faulty phone system and sometimes blaming lack of staff. I call the provider and they have never received the request. This has happened with 2 different doctors offices. Now they tell my I picked a prescription up when I was out of state! We were on time with a copy of our Covid-19 testing appointment early for a 1pm appointment. Three cars were ahead of us in the drive thru pharmancy land. When our turn in line arrived the pharmacist told us that we were late for our appointment and to return in one hour. When we explained that we were in line on time he stated his manager will not allow us to be tested and to come back in one hour. This is a very broken system. Good morning, There are 3 photo kiosks and only 1 of them works with a disk even though all three have disk drivers. I waited 30 minutes only to find it doesn't work anymore. The problem I have is the staff are not aware of the faulty equipment. And they simply aren't making any effort to fix the problem. As of now I cannot do business with this company because of lack of quality service and equipment. I have been going to this store for the past year and have seen the kiosks become derelict in the process with no sign of change. read more

I came down here a few days ago to avoid the weekday evening rush at Carrs and Walmart. This Walgreens is located on the corner of 88th Ave and Lake Otis across from a car wash. The store is like any other Walgreens with the usual drug store offerings of snacks, bathroom items like toothpaste, shampoo, and over-the-counter medicine, household goods, discount DVDs, and a limited selection of groceries such as milk, bread, eggs, and juice. Employees are difficult to track down on the selling floor if you're looking for a specific item with most of them working at the registers or behind the pharmacy counter. However, I decided to bump them up to three stars from two on my most recent visit. I found a great deal on an 8-pack of Dial bar soap with the second purchase of any brand at 50% off with the Walgreens card. Normally, I find better deals price-wise at Walmart or Target, but I was down to my last bar and this was enough soap to last for several months. There have been deals like this before on other items, but usually not on brands that I'm partial to. If you feel the need to avoid congested parking lots and crowded aisles at the supermarket, you may get lucky by coming across sales like this or buy one, get one free deals. Unfortunately, those good deals are few and far between for anything I usually buy when I can go to big box stores for everyday deals when it's not crowded. read more

So, I've come here a couple of times for odds and ends. Recently, like an hour ago, I came here to order Christmas cards and all the machines were off. So, 20 minutes later I can begin making the cards. I order them and chick starts printing them off. She hands them to me and I leave. I didn't count them, but figured they would all be there. I get a phone call a half hour later that two of my cards printed after I left so now I have to head back again. Bah. Waste my life! read more

I sat in the drive thru line for 25 minutes and when I pulled up to the window the tech said that they were closing for lunch and I could come back in an hour. One would think that they could stagger lunches so this does not happen or at least come out and let people in line know that they are closing so you do not have to waste your time sitting there. read more

I have been a fan of Walgreens since my college days some *mumbles* years ago. Of course the stone age is over and now they have these things called computerized cash registers and drive through pharmacy windows. Imagine that! Also gone are the days of cheap, cheap prices. Walgreens after all has evolved with the economy and is definitely not the cheapest place in town for a quick deal. I was happy to see Walgreens arrive in Anchorage a couple of years ago and like their old slogan of "one on every corner" it certainly seemed that way when it came to their build up here. Now Anchorage sports many locations and their locations are pretty convenient to every area of town. While not my favorite location, I do swing by the Abbott location now and then. My experience here does not deal with the pharmacy in any matter but rather the shopping and selection. As mentioned it's not the absolutely best Walgreens location when it comes to being fully stocked. I find that tends to be the Minnesota and Northern Lights location. But this location does come in a close second. And it is not quite as much of a pain in the butt to get in and out of as say Tudor and Lake Otis. Whose idea was that anyway? Walgreens tends to carry a little bit of everything including some minor amounts of groceries. So if you are in a hurry and want to avoid the grocery store you actually can find some staples here. Mostly though I come to Walgreens for personal care and cosmetic items. Because sometimes there are just deals to be had. Especially when it comes to their Balance Rewards program. The Balance Rewards is their loyalty program where you earn so many points per dollar spent. Sometimes there are 5x to even 10x per points for every dollar spent. This includes prescriptions and photos. As a member you have access to member only perks and paperless coupons which you can electronically tag to your Walgreens app which in turn is loaded to your Balance Rewards fob. You get a $5.00 off reward for every 5,000 points you bank. And with the multiple points per dollar and electronic coupons they add up quickly. Hey it's a great way to watch your pennies if you are trying to save money. Additionally the Balance Rewards program is rewarding one for making healthy choices you make every day. I.e. setting a health goal, linking the app to your fit bit, etc. If you are interested in walking, running or cycling you earn 20 points for every mile. It can be fun to "play the game" so to speak and really see how many points you can save up and then let the savings come to you. All in all I will continue to shop at Walgreens and at the Abbott location. The employees in particular at this location have been some of the friendliest I have run into out of any of their locations. Plus I don't have to deal with the questionable "customers" I have experienced at the Minnesota and Northern Lights or Muldoon locations. read more

Worst. Pharmacy. Ever. 24-hour pharmacy that is chronically understaffed. Expect an average wait of at least half an hour. Then pray to God that when you finally get to the counter they actually have your prescription. Apparently their fax machine doesn't always work, so your doctor can tell you in all honesty that they sent your prescription in. However, you might be SOL if Walgreens fax didn't work and it's after hours or a weekend. I have actually had this exact scenario happen now a couple of times. You would think Walgreens would correct the issue, but no, they brush it off and blame the phone company. Maybe Walgreens should switch providers. Or offer to call the doctor and get it by phone. Or... Something. Instead, they say sorry and expect you to be OK without your meds. Obviously actually caring about patients is too much to ask. Unless you absolutely have to get a prescription in the middle of the night, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. read more

I have had nothing but trouble with Walgreens pharmacy at multiple locations. They are poorly managed and understaffed at every place I've been. I dropped off a prescription they said it would be ready in a half an hour I came back an hour and a half later and they still had not filled it. He said it would be another 45 minutes, too bad so sad, so to speak. Putting me still yet on the back burner when at that point I should have been made a priority. I have had similar problems with other Walgreens Pharmacy. I will not use them again and I would dissuade you from doing the same. read more
