I am sick and tired of the monopoly these guys have on the market. My review is not directed at the people who serve customers, but the way things are done. The Walgreens pharmacy by us in Antioch IL frequently is closed down because of staffing issues. The other day I needed a simple pickup and both times I stopped by they were closed for meal breaks. WHY can't a company as big as this find a way to do things differently? WHY can't a technician be enough to simply transact a refill? I'm sure that there should be stronger regulations when dispensing a controlled substance but a simple antibiotic or refill should be less of an ordeal. When I'm sick they should be helping me get on with getting better, not running wild goose chases. The individuals I deal with at the store aren't necessarily the problem. They're just doing what they're required to do. read more

It's hilarious that Walgreens seems puzzled why so many of their stores are underperforming. Has no one from corporate ever set foot into their chronically understaffed stores? I dread having to go to this (or any other for that matter) location because any visit will take twice to three times as long as it should. Most recently I had an appointment for vaccinations at 1:20. I arrived at 1:15 and cooled my jets until I was seen one 35 minutes later. The pharmacy staff by and large is sour which I would be as well if I was that overworked. Whilst I sat there, "assistance needed in the photo department" was announced via the PA five times. Since there wasn't a sixth, I presume a staff member finally arrived to assist after the 10-minute wait. While Walgreens may be able to eke out some profit from their understaffed stores, it ain't a recipe for success and I look forward to seeing the company implode. Good riddance. read more

I would give five stars but when I was at the checkout a few days ago, or maybe a week ago the older lady at the counter was so rude. She walked away doing God knows what while I was trying to tell her I had points to use on my card. She ignored me 3 times and said put your card in. I said I have points can you please redeem them for me? She huffed like I was asking her something that isn't her job. I'm sorry lady do your job. I spent money to redeem those points. Ugh. Well that wasn't the only thing. She proceeds to blow her nose as I'm waiting for the receipt to come out and thinks I want her boogery hands touching my stuff! Really?! If the tables were turned, she wouldn't want me to blow my nose and hand her the stuff and receipt! C'mon common sense right now with COVID! Walgreens PLEASE DO SOMETHING WITH THIS RUDE WORKER!!!! Have been on hold for over an hour to see if a prescription for my mom was ready ,who is on hospice, to be told that the tech can't tell me if the prescription was ready and that I needed to talk to the Pharmisist since it's a controlled substance. Placed on hold again for another hour only to be told by Pharmasist that she has no clue if it's ready due to them being closed the past hour. Why answer a phone call in regards to a prescription if you are not able to access what is being asked? We've been trying for 3 days to get what my mom needs from them and it's been nothing but a mess. Thank goodness hospice has other ways to get her her medication, but if your loved one needed something fast...this is not the place to go. read more

Absolutely terrible pharmacy. I've been trying to get them to have my workers compensation cover my medications for the past 6 months. I've tried giving them my workers comp card and they proceeded to tell me there was nothing they could do with it. Three different pharmacists told me the same thing. I had my insurance company and my attorney CALL the manager to have my workers comp added. I still was coming in and having to tell them my workers comp was covering it and I had to call my attorney and insurance to call them again for my medications. I went to the Walgreens pharmacy on 75th street Salem, Wisconsin and they asked me if my meds were covered by workers comp as soon as they typed my name in. Half of my meds had already been covered by workers comp because the pharmacist actually did their job there. Whoever the manager is at the Antioch location on 173 either did not do their job or can't stay on top of their employees. I had to pay roughly $500 out of pocket for my medications because the people working there are incompetent. Angry would be an understatement. Fix your pharmacy. read more

Absolutely the worst service. There are more than 9 of us in line and the Manager is standing in an aisles chatting with her friend. Instead of staffing enough people to help checkout and in photo, it's just one girl. She's too timid to speak up and ask for help. Actually looks like she is scared of the manager. It's Sunday at 2:05pm What an absolute horrible experience to have this many people waiting because of staffing and finally get service the manager is short, rude and never acknowledges the line because of her. read more
