This Walgreens is so love hate, but at the end of the day you have to love it because it's 24 hours. It's located in a plaza at the corner of North Ave and Piedmont Rd., in the parking lot with the Publix and Chase Bank. There's almost always bums and scalawags hanging around begging for something, and just suspect characters in general in the vicinity... so always be cautious and observant of your surroundings. Sometimes the lines are long sometimes short it just depends on the day and hour, but this place does very often get very crowded just because of it's location. Generally speaking they have most things in stock. The pharmacy on the other hand has LOOOOONG lines, very long lines, and they're also sort of expensive. SUMMARY: This may not be the most elegant Walgreens in the world, but it's open 'round the clock and has saved me on many occasions when I needed something-- be it for school or for my health or even before catching a flight. I used to go here until I noticed a pattern: every time I go to this Walgreen's, some sort of shenanigan occurs in the checkout line. Whether it's a homeless man yelling about his change or demanding a taxi, or the credit card machine doesn't work, SOMETHING happens that turns a 5 minute trip to 20 minutes. Also, the pharmacy here has the sweetest pharm tech, but the meanest pharmacist, and they hardly ever have my prx ready when they say they would. I'm really not one to gripe, but this place drives me crazy. I have vowed to never go here again and drive the extra few miles to Rite-Aid or Publix on Ponce for my drug store needs. read more

Walgreens is my savior. It's that light at the end of the tunnel on my walk home from work. They usually have everything, especially for all those last-minute needs at all hours of the night. I needed canvas grocery bags for a speaker's gift and they had them. They had the shaving cream, extra-long twizzlers, packaged powdered donuts, and balloons to decorate Tom's car for his birthday. I needed a tiara and feather boa for Gretchen's bachelorette party and they were in aisle 9. It's clean. There's not crap everywhere and doesn't smell like pee like other drug stores on Ponce or North Ave. Staff is friendly and helpful. There are usually sketchballs hanging out outside but they're harmless. They do have security around just in case (didn't T.I get arrested in this parking lot?). I will say upfront that I HATE the drive up to this place. It is tight to turn in when other cars are coming out. Both on North and into shopping center. Ugh. I also hate the parking spots. They are too narrow. I do like that the store is open 24 hours. Typically, there are loiterers outside- they gotta work on that. Prices are affordable for the most part and lots of great deals. Make sure to check their monthly coupon book. This store tends have more items that other Walgreens that I go to. But you have to grab it when you see it, cause it may not be around for long. I came here because they seem to be well-stocked versus other pharmacies. The medication I came for is difficult to find in the brand my doctor prescribed. I'm writing this review because I just can't believe the attitude spewing from the pharmacist. One of those people who finds it impossible to listen cuz he needs to talk over all of your sentences. The lazy factor was ridiculous as well. God forbid you'd have to check and see if you have a medication in stock. And when there's no one else waiting, to be told that it's going to take 45 minutes, is just spiteful unless he's really that slow. I really wish there were more choices in Atlanta. read more

Literally use any other Walgreens pharmacy. This pharmacy is horrible. When I had an issue with my prescription they gave me the complete wrong info to fix it. Then I finally talked to a pharmacist who kept loudly yawning in my ear, repeatedly cut me off, and was not helpful at all. I have never spoken to someone so not helpful who I could tell was just trying to get me off the phone. She then said to "hold on a second" and just put the phone down without actually putting me on hold. I sat there for 20 minutes listening to silence before she picked up the phone again and had completely forgotten about me and had to ask for my info again. I would give this pharmacy / store #6032 ZERO stars if that were an option. The pharmacy is the WORST pharmacy I've ever used. They are SEVERLY understaffed and the drive through is just as backed up as the line inside even if you EXPRESS PAY, which means pay for your prescriptions in advance and they claim it will save you time. But when you get there, there is only one line, both in the drive thru and inside so don't be fooled by the express pay! They are quick to tell you when you complain about the 20-45 minute wait in line that "you see it's just us here..." That should NEVER be said to a customer. Their lack of staff is not the customers issue. If you are considering this as your pharmacy, you should re-think it. It doesn't matter what time of the day it is, you will wait, at the very least, 20 minutes to pick up scripts, even if you "express" pay. There is nothing EXPRESS about this pharmacy. Not mention they aren't nice either, which is probably because they get complaints all day long about how slow they are. If you have a complaint, don't bother with the store manager as this is worthless. This is an upper management issue so I actually feel sorry for the staff. This Walgreen's has two things going for it. It's close to where I live and it's open 24 hours. There's no rushing to pick up prescriptions because they never close. Actually, there's a third thing, their Balance Rewards card, which gives you points for every prescription filled and for certain purchases. It's easy to accumulate points and you can redeem 5000 points for $5 worth of merchandise. I'm always redeeming points for small purchases which means I get it free or for next to nothing. Everybody loves to talk about how sketchy the parking lot is. Hardly. Yes, there are the occasional panhandlers and yes they can be annoying, but a simple "No," or "Not today," suffices. I've never seen more than one or two and I've always felt safe. Plus, they're regulars, just like the customers! The wild characterizations in other reviews are simply off base. I've found the service at the pharmacy to be okay and always cordial. I've opted for automatic refills so it's an easy stop to run inside or use the drive thru. Make no mistake, this is a busy pharmacy. Don't expect idle chit chat. Don't expect prescriptions to be filled in five minutes - there's not a pharmacy around that does that. And don't be bitchy with the pharmacist because you don't know you're insurance coverage and you have to pay an arm and a leg for something not covered by your plan. My one complaint is that they don't always have a medicine on hand. But they can order anything and receive it the next day. Still, who wants to make two trips. Overall, I'm a loyal customer of this Walgreen's and I'll remain that way until something better comes along. read more

This one is kinda located in the hood and yes has the occasional panhandler out front but you can't beat a 24 hour Walgreens. Best prices ever on cigarettes! Friendly pharmacy staff. They are very good at keeping both lanes open up front too. read more

I generally like this Walgreens, but I HATE that they have many items locked behind glass: deodorant and shaving items, for example. They are on the regular aisles, but there is a big, locked glass door over the shelves. It's a real nuisance getting a staff member to come over and unlock it so you can get a stick of deodorant. The only time I ever did this, the staff member acted annoyed that I needed assistance. Really?? One good thing about this Walgreens is that they have Necco Wafers which I always buy my dad for his Christmas stocking. These are not easy to find in Atlanta, but I can always get them at this Walgreens! read more

I'm usually in here at least once a week. It's one of the reasons why I was sold on this neighborhood. It's 24 hours and everybody knows, they don't put 24 hour places in horrible neighborhoods. However, there usually is a person or two outside asking for change. But, for the most part, it's a nice store. Most items in here are more expensive than the expensive Publix right down the way, but their sales are nice. I usually price compare because that's just the type of person I am. You can find a little bit of everything in this place. They even just started selling wine! They are usually open on holidays too. I pick up my monthly prescription usually without a hitch as the pharmacy is also 24 hours. There was one occasion when I thought I was going to go off because they didn't have my prescription in stock and I had called or used the app to do the refill. Fortunately, the nice pharm tech saw that I was on the verge of having a bitchfit after she told me that I could go to another store and put a rush order in for my prescription to be in the next day. read more

This pharmacy is hit or miss. Several times I've gotten something different than what I was prescribed, be it the dosage or actual medicine (generic vs name brand). The staff is always courteous though and they are 24 hours which is huge. I just returned from some late night Walgreen's shopping and thought I would write a review. This is a good store. It is not the newest Walgreen's around but it is still in good condition and is neat and organized. The staff is usually surprisingly friendly and helpful. They also are quick to either open a new register when there is a long line or start calling customers over to the cosmetics counter to check out instead. I can generally find everything I need in this store including the items advertised in the circular, although sometimes they do run out of sale items toward the end of the week. There is plenty of parking and there are security personnel around the parking lot. The worst thing I would say about this Walgreen's is that they sometimes have people hanging around the door asking for money, which does make some people uncomfortable. read more

The staff at this Walgreens simply do not care about the customers. Went to the photo counter, but no one was behind the counter. After waiting several minutes a girl walks behind the counter with food and sets it down, looks me in the eyes and walks away. Went in to get my COVID booster shot and was told I needed to make an appointment. I told the pharmacist that I tried but their website would not take appointments that instructed me to walk in. She then starting telling me how they were running low on the vaccine and that I needed to make an appointment. I said please tell me how to make an appointment since the website would not allow it. She said that I could wait 30 minutes and get the vaccine. She told me to get in line. I said what line, as there was no line. She stated that it was over there somewhere. Never gave me paperwork or or assigned me a place in line. The two other people behind the counter were business ringing up snacks for a co-worker to acknowledge me. I have a few Walgreens in and around the Atlanta area that I typically go to for prescription pick ups depending on whether I am at work, home, etc. 9 out of 10 times, I choose to pick up my prescriptions from this Walgreens specifically because of how awesome the pharmacy staff is. The pharmacist and staff are professional and very friendly. If I have questions about my medication, the pharmacist always happily provides me with answers. The staff also remembers my name which automatically makes me feel welcome. SO, speaking specifically about the pharmacy portion of this location, I without a doubt give it a 5 star review. Dropped it off at 8:30 AM, came back at 4 PM to pick it up with one person in front of me so they told me "just a few minutes". It takes forever to get prescriptions filled. Today I have waited thirty minutes (first twenty in my car and 10 in the store) and I still haven't been able to speak to a representative. UPDATE: Today when I picked up my prescription I was told that it was returned because I hadn't picked it up. I asked how long they keep prescriptions for and was informed 7 days. I refilled my prescription via phone on MONDAY. I waited 15 minutes (not horrible), but when I got back home to check my prescription instead of receiving a 90 day supply like my Dr had ordered I had a 30 day supply.
