My baby has major surgery and needed painkillers. The Drs office called it in and this Walgreens said they could fill it. We came in four plus hours later to pick up said script and they say they have to order it. It's been two days and my son has been in AGONY. They say there's nothing they can do. If I could give them 0 stars I would. If you need medication, this pharmacy is your nightmare. I have needed medicine for serious medical issues and they haven't been able to fill it for days... if you call them they will tell you your medicine will be ready later or tomorrow. When later or tomorrow comes they still won't be ready... I'm sitting here currently a 1212pm after being told my medicine would be ready and now they told me they haven't even unpacked the shipment for today.... this is the second time I've been here today. I've been getting my medication from this place for a few years. Have been thinking about switching to Mariano, but since this place is more convenient, decided to stick with them even the cost is higher. I stopped by yesterday to order my medication for pickup today. When I was there today after work, they said that they don't have the medication for me. It was too early for my refill, which was not true. I'm surprised that they don't have my prescription refill info. I've been here for years now. I waited there for almost an hour. They called my insurance company, and my doctors office, and confirmed the refill was valid. However, I have to make a third trip tomorrow to pick up the medication. Every time I go there I have to easily spend an hour. They are very slow and short handed. Although they are rather patient with customers. I would appreciate that they can message me or call and leave me a message if they have any question about the prescription. They can confirm with my doctor too before the scheduled pickup, right? Rather than figure out what to do when I am there the second time. And I have to make a third trip there to pick up my medication. I think I have to switch to another pharmacy. read more

The store is fine with a lot of products to choose from as well as last minute items for shoppers. The pharmacy however is an entirely different matter. Went to pick up meds that my doctor explained I needed to begin today, not tomorrow or next week but today. So I get to the counter and a young blond woman tells me that I needed preauthorization to pickup my meds. It wasn't so much in what she said but the smug bitch attitude that she had. She said I needed a doctor to call in to authorize. Well she was wrong and I got loud and the pharmacy mgr got my $19.00 prescription an I was on my way. Moral of the story is avoid Walgreens pharmacy at all costs. You can always tell they're in turmoil running about and looking totally confused clueless effing clueless!!! read more

What a shame! This pharmacy has lost all of it's understanding of "Customer Satisfaction". I have been using this pharmacy for the past 12 years and after yesterday I am forced to change to another. They just don't GET IT! They did the cost research on my med and it was within my budget so I placed the order. I picked it up, paid and took it home. At home I realized that the quantity was only half what I ordered. I thought I ordered and priced a quantity of 60 but received 30. So I ended up paying double what the original cost estimate was because they refused to allow me to return the product. Not sure if this was a simple error or a total ripoff?? Worst pharmacy ever. Had a problem several weeks ago with my husband trying to get a prescription called in. His doctor was on hold for 20 minutes. Ny husband waited for over an hour for his medication. They didn't differentiate between customers for Covid vaccines and those picking up prescriptions. They now have signage for each window. Friday I went for my second vaccine. I was the only one there....for a vaccine or to pick up meds. My receipt was marked at 1021. I sat down and waited. At 1040 I had to ask if it would be much longer. 4 people were working. I understand the pharmacist has to draw up the medication. To keep filling prescriptions and not draw up medication that takes less than a minute for someone waiting is ignorant. Apparently multitasking is not an option. I'm a retired nurse and mother....and can multitask with my eyes shut. read more

A prescription ive been getting filled for almost two years now just randomly switched on me now they expect me to pay over $200 for, did not even let me know it was ready. I have been coming here for 16+years. I've never had any problems like others say with the pharmacy. The head pharmacist used to be kind of grouchy like she was too busy for my question, which she was, but she has softened a lot in the last 5 years and she really knows her stuff. I have asked lots of questions She has always been a great help as has the staff. I use the photo on occasion and seasonal things around holidays but mostly just health related things. Meijer and Marianos have moved in and although I shop at Meijer weekly, I still come to Walgreens. Meijer seems busy in pharmacy so Walgreens is perfect. I have to say I do go to the cvs minute clinic on Irving in Schaumburg a few times a year, which I love. When I do, I get whatever is prescribed from them at cvs. Otherwise, all my drs etc just have Walgreens as my pharmacy of choice. read more

Have used the pharmacy for a number of years and have always been open until 10. Go to pick up a prescription and am told that all Walgreens pharmacies changed their hours to close at 9 pm even though their website still states 10 pm?!? I told then that isn't the case since I accidentally called the other location on Lake street and they were open until 10!!!Thank goodness that store was able to fill my daughter's subscription for me! Obviously this is a manager's decision not a corporate one. :( read more

OMG, saw the most hilarious thing tonight at this Walgreens. In the pharmacy, the new pharmacy tech (male) swiped the credit card of a customer on the drive through too quick and it didn't go through. Rather than admitting his mistake, he double downed and told this poor women that her credit was no good. Well, upon her insistence, he ran the card again, and when it was obvious it was working he pretended it wasn't and told her that he would "override" it and then pretended to type in the computer and pretended he was doing something. His fingers never touched the keys! So, I started cracking up and he had the nerve to turn and say, "is there a problem ? ". I wish I called him out in front of that poor customer who thought her credit was bad because of his lie but I didn't. Never trusting him, but the pharmacy and other workers are still good. Have been a regular customer of the pharmacy for a year. My son has ADHD and needs Concerta, brand name drug, and I go every month on the 10th. This pharmacy knows this since I call before I go there to make sure they have in stock. The issue is that they are seldom prepared and I have to run to other locations and get the doctor's office to send new prescription to other location after they tell me they don't have in stock. I went to this Walgreens for many years before I recently moved. I sometimes pop in when I'm near the area. I have never had a problem going there. The staff is very friendly and courteous. Always ready to help. Even though they have known me forever (because of stopping in a couple times a week) they treat everyone the same way. My favorite is Krystina (I hope I spelled her name right). She is in the cosmetics department. A total gem! Keep up the good work guys! read more

Have gone to this pharmacy for years - since I moved into the neighborhood in 2009. The last couple of years, it has steadily gone downhill. The pharmacy frequently makes mistakes. I have called in Rx, been contacted by the auto' system that the Rx is ready, gone in, only to find that it is not ready, or, worse, that they have no record of it at all. They have given me drugs that interact EVEN THOUGH I have all my Rxs filled there. They have switched me to generic without my authorization and against my dr.'s directions, they have tried to switch me to 90 day refills - which my insurance won't approve. Today was it, though. I pulled up at the drive-up window just to pick up a Rx. There's a car already there. I wait 4 minutes. It pulls away, I pull up. The tech' immediately walks away from the window, disappears from my sight. I think she's going to wait on a customer at that counter, but I can see the counter. There are no customers. I waited another 19 minutes (23 in total) before I actually got out of my car and banged on the glass. The SAME tech' slowly approaches. I tell her that I've now been waiting 23 minutes for her. She does not apologize, says I should have pushed the "call" button. I explained that there was no need to let her know I was there as she watched me drive up, unless in the 23 minutes that she kept me waiting, she forgot all about me. I also reminded her that there is an internal alarm that notifies her that I'm sitting there. God know I hear it easily enough when I'm inside, and I have a hearing impairment. Nothing. She just stares at me. So, I picked up my Rx - the last one EVER at the Walgreen's at the corner of Springfield & Lake, and promptly made my way to the CVS near Lake and Bloomingdale. And, guess what?! They're happy to have my business! If you have all the time in the world and you like the excitement of not knowing if your Rx will be right or even ready, feel free to shop there. read more
